Bobby Shmurda Explains Why He Has “Mixed Emotions” About Being Free

Bobby Shmurda isn’t moving off of impulse anymore — after being released from prison following a six-year bid, the New York-based rapper is learning about everything around him, figuring out the best ways to move around before striking again. He explained during a recent interview with Desus & Mero how he’s feeling about getting out of prison, explaining that he’s curious about everything again.

Some fans have expressed frustration with Bobby Shmurda for taking such a long time to release new music after getting out, but his recent explanation as to how it feels to be a free man, as well as the new song he debuted at Rolling Loud, should convince people that the best is yet to come. When Desus & Mero spoke with Bobby and asked him about his present mindset, his response was very telling.

“Honestly, it’s mixed emotions,” said the rapper. “Some days is work, and some days it’s like, man, I’m home. You know when you can’t believe you’re home? I done came home before but this time it was like, I’m home. You know. what I’m saying? I’m home. When you come home, you gotta see everything and what’s what. What’s this? What’s that? That’s what’s really been going on. I’m trying to see what’s this and what’s that before you move cause being in jail just made me smarter. I used to move off a lot of impulse.”

Tory Lanez & Kodak Black Drop Off “Grah Tah Tah”

Tory Lanez appears content to play the villain, and though his reputation has taken a hit in certain circles, the majority of his fans have remained loyal to the Canadian rapper. Shortly after appearing as a surprise guest during DaBaby’s performance at Rolling Loud Miami, Tory has come through to drop off his brand new single “Grah Tah Tah,” featuring Kodak Black.

Off the bat, the song strikes a defiant tone, with Tory directly addressing some of his critics over a dark piano banger. “I know ya’ll hoes want me in jail but I’ma stunt cause I’m a baller,” he raps. “I damn near gave my heart to that bitch, still don’t make time to call her.” Kodak Black steps in for the second verse, his style an interesting effective complement to Tory’s more aggressive delivery. “I could always go back to the trap I ever get tired of the rap,” he spits. “You know I hit that slab and I put vitamins in the crack.”

Team USA Reportedly Frustrated With Gregg Popovich

Even when players like LeBron James, Kyrie Irving, and James Harden are sitting out, the United States still has the strongest basketball team in the world. The team is packed with superstar talent as guys like Kevin Durant, Damian Lillard, Zach Lavine, Jrue Holiday, and Bam Adebayo are leading the way. While some of these players aren’t exactly elite-level players in the NBA, there is no doubt that they are better than the vast majority of the players representing other countries at the Olympics.

Despite this supposed skill gap, Team USA has struggled to play as a collective unit under head coach Gregg Popovich. After losing a couple of exhibition games prior to the Olympics, Team USA lost its first game of the Tokyo Olympics to France, and now, there are questions as to how far this team can actually go.

In fact, according to Joe Vardon of The Athletic, there are now questions surrounding Gregg Popovich and whether or not he can lead this team to victory. Players are reportedly getting frustrated with his offense, and things could escalate if the team continues to lose.

Per The Athletic:

“To be clear, Popovich is horrified by his own record coaching this team. He dwells on it and hates the losing. The players are frustrated, too, grumbling on their way back to the locker room about “running the San Antonio offense” when apparently they feel like there are better ideas. Pop has said, because of the truncated nature of Team USA’s training camp, the offense would be based on “concepts” instead of set plays.”

The United States will play their next game on Wednesday against Iran, and fans are expecting a blowout. If they fail to win this match, then they could very well be going home early.
