Partial Building Collapse Near Miami Leaves One Dead, 10 Injured, & Many More Missing

Over 100 people were unaccounted for, Thursday morning, after a building near Miami, Florida partially collapsed. At least one person was killed and at least 10 were injured during the incident.

Thursday afternoon, Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Ray Jadallah confirmed that they have heard sounds from underneath the rubble.

“All operations are occurring underneath the rubble. They are occurring underneath the parking garage where we have teams of firefighters constantly as they continue making cuts, breaches and placing sonar devices, search cams to locate victims,” he said during a news conference. “We did receive sounds. Not necessarily people talking, but sounds. What sounds like people banging, not people but sounds of a possibility of a banging. We haven’t heard any voices coming from the pile.”

Kanye West Sues Walmart For Allegedly Selling Foam Runner Clone

Kanye West has always been very protective of his intellectual property and he has every reason to be. After all, his Yeezy brand has turned him into a billionaire and if his ideas get stolen, he can lose out on some pretty massive sales. Not to mention, knock-offs of poor quality can do significant damage to his reputation. With this in mind, it should come as no surprise that Kanye is going after Walmart after a Yeezy Foam Runner clone was sold on their website.

In the image below, you can see that this is an obvious rip-off of the Foam Runner which is a pretty recognizable shoe. In fact, it is an egregious copy that Kanye believes is doing huge damage to the Yeezy brand. According to TMZ, West is suing Walmart and is seeking damages for their part in selling the shoe.

Walmart has since commented on the matter stating that the shoe came from a third-party seller and that the knock-off was not authorized by Walmart themselves. As of right now, Walmart is doing an investigation into the matter to make sure this never happens again.

“The product referenced in the complaint is not sold by Walmart, but rather by third party Marketplace sellers. We take allegations like this seriously and are reviewing the claim. We will respond in court as appropriate after we have been served with the complaint,” Walmart explained.

For Kanye, these matters are incredibly serious, and considering the circumstances, it will be interesting to see if he decides to continue to pursue legal action. Stay tuned for updates, as we will be sure to bring them to you.

Rihanna Gets New Ink Over Her Matching Shark Tattoo With Drake

On Wednesday, A$AP Rocky and Rihanna were spotted while enjoying a date out in New York City, and all Thursday-long the two have been making headlines. So far fans have been impressed by their fashion choices and shocked that a bouncer actually ID’d Rihanna, but according to etalk, some eagle-eyed Twitter users have found an even bigger story from Rih and Rocky’s cute night out.

Etalk reports that the shark tattoo on Rihanna’s foot, the matching one that she once got with Drake, has been covered up with a new crown tattoo.

In 2016, Rihanna reiterated that she was a savage on her ANTI standout cut “Needed Me,” and five years later the Barbadian singer has reminded everyone once again. The camo shark tattoo was a symbol of Rihanna and Drake’s relationship, and now that Rih and A$AP Rocky are going strong, the Unapologetic artist has had it completely covered up.

Get a good look at their original matching Ripley’s Aquarium-inspired tattoos below.

Judging from the flood of heartwarming flicks of her and A$AP Rocky as of late, do you think that Drake still may get one more chance to win the “Bad Gal” over? Or do you think that her cover-up work over their matching shark tattoo means that there’s no longer any hope that the iconic Aubrih romance will ever be rekindled?

Regardless, revisit the height of Drake and Rihanna’s romance — Drake’s sweet, yet incredibly cringey, introductory speech for Rihanna’s 2016 MTV Vanguard Award — below.

Scottie Pippen Delivers Harsh Assessment Of Ben Simmons

Ben Simmons has been the NBA’s punching bag over the last few days in light of his performance in Game 7 against the Atlanta Hawks. Fans were disappointed with the Simmons’ entire postseason and moving forward, there are rumors that he could be out of Philly as soon as the free agency period hits. Following Game 7, numerous pundits and former players have given their takes on Simmons and how he came up short this season thanks to his fear of shooting the ball.

Recently, NBA legend Scottie Pippen gave his take on Simmons in an interview with GQ. As you can imagine, Pippen was quite harsh on the Sixers star and claimed the player was a “failure” in the end. While Pippen believes Simmons can be good, he felt as though Doc Rivers put him in a position to fail.

“If Ben Simmons miss a free throw, he gonna start passing it before he get to the free throw line on the other end,” Pippen said. “He didn’t even wanna cross half court with the basketball because he was so afraid of being humiliated going to that foul line. That’s why he didn’t try to make that dunk at the end of the game. He’s been doing it all year, bro.”

Pippen knows what it takes to win in the playoffs and clearly, Simmons just didn’t have it. While Simmons can still improve, it’s going to take a lot of work, and his shot won’t just magically get good overnight. With this in mind, it will be interesting to see what the Sixers decide to do.

Cordae Drops Trailer For “Hi Level” Record Label

Cordae has been establishing himself in a lane of complete control and ownership over his work, obtaining a sense of further independence after dropping the YBN moniker from his name. The next logical step in the path seems to be the creation of his own record label –the recently announced Hi Level — and a new trailer has landed to detail the label’s mission statement.

The 23-year-old rapper recently talked about the dangers of some artists ending up stuck in bad record deals. It seems morally reasonable that his Hi-Level record label will do its best to afford upcoming artists better and more flexible opportunities with deals that aren’t as restrictive or exploitative.

In a string of teaser posts over the past month, Cordae has been hyping up the label’s mission and indicating his passion for making sure it gets off to a strong and steady start. The label account posted a teaser two weeks ago with Atlanta rap icon Young Thug, indicating his potential involvement in the label’s workflow. Nonetheless, Cordae flexing his countless connections in the industry can be very alluring for artists hoping to sign to the label.

It’s still unclear what the establishment of the label means for Cordae’s own musical output in relation to his current label deal with Atlantic Records, so it’s possible that future releases may go under Hi-Level and be considered fully-owned by the rapper.

In the caption for the new trailer, Cordae indicated that “Applications are open,” and invited users to tag a creative they know in the comments. Unsurprisingly, the comments are riddled with different artists and creatives indicating a strong interest in wanting to work for the new label. In the trailer, Cordae equates Hi Level to more of a way of life than just a simple brand or record label, outlining the label’s ethos of dreaming hard and aiming high to reach one’s goals.

Check out the label trailer below and let us know what you think.

Jazmine Sullivan Surprises Listeners With The Petty New Single “Tragic”

During the first days of 2021, Jazmine Sullivan stunned longtime listeners and R&B fans with her first project since 2015’s Reality Show. Although ultimately deemed an EP by the elusive singer-songwriter, Heaux Tales was an incredible 14-track project that features from plenty of notable artists, including Ari Lennox, Anderson .Paak, & H.E.R. The project also spawned powerful songs such as “Lost One,” “The Other Side,” “Girl Like Me,” making it one of the year’s early R&B standouts.

Roughly six months later, Jazmine Sullivan is back with more music, and her latest single perfectly coincides with her recent Essence magazine cover and her upcoming performance at the B.E.T. awards this Sunday.

Titled “Tragic,” Jazmine Sullivan’s latest musical offering is a petty new single that finds the talented singer-songwriter admitting that she needs to reclaim her time and distance herself from an inadequate lover.

Quotable Lyrics

Why do you be looking for me to do all the work?
I’m so tired of coming through
You never put me first
But I guide you like I’m on a 4-wheeler
Yeah I ride you like I’m at the car dealer
Pacify you but I’m paying the cost
And now I’m done pretending that you getting me off

Terry Presume Sends Encouragement With His Inviting ‘None Of This Alone’ Video

Nashville (by way of Naples, Florida) singer Terry Presume has been building a buzz with catchy singles like “Did Me Wrong” and “ZaZa And Some Runtz” and is gearing up to release a new EP titled What Box? on July 29. The latest single from the upcoming project is the encouraging “None Of This Alone,” for which he’s also released a video. The simple video features Terry singing the uplifting lyrics as they appear on the screen while he roams the streets of LA’s Chinatown and lies on train tracks.

The unabashedly joyful track follows “ZaZa and Some Runtz” in Presume’s string of genre-less, earnest songs, while the tracklist of What Box? also includes “Don’t Wait Forever,” “Personal,” and “Swimming.” Terry switches from exuberant raps to soulful rock to no-filter folk throughout his small but growing catalog, making him an interesting figure with a promising future as more fans catch on to his music thanks to his recent move to Los Angeles and willingness to push the boundaries of what’s expected of Black boys from South Florida — the very ethos of his What Box? project title.

Watch Terry Presume’s ‘None Of This Alone’ video above.

What Box? is due 7/29 via September Recordings.

Coi Leray Trolls Pressa’s Canadian Accent

Amid rumors sprouting earlier this month about an emerging relationship between rappers Coi Leray and Pressa, a playful TikTok posted to the former’s account seems to only further confirm their closeness.

The newly-minted XXL Freshman posted a video of Pressa to her TikTok page on Wednesday with the caption “Dating a Canadian,” in which she tells him to repeat words and phrases that hilariously highlight his distinct Canadian accent and terminology. Most notable of all the differences is when he terms the place that he showers as the “washroom.”

Both artists have been active in showing their affection for one another in social media posts throughout the past month, leaving very little doubt that they are inseperable. The pair first linked up on Pressa’s “Attachments” remix, and have since been more active in posting one another on their respective pages.

It remains to be seen if this budding relationship will inspire new music from the pair as a couple, but in the meantime, their playful relationship on social media will keep fans watching.

What do you think of the relationship between Coi Leray and Pressa? Would you like to see more musical collaborations between the two? Comment below.

Lil Duval Unleashes Hot Takes About Lil Baby & DaBaby

Just in case the Hip-Hop Mt. Rushmore of the 2010s debate a few weeks ago didn’t cause enough uproar, Lil Duval stepped up to the plate and hit Twitter to ensure that absolute chaos would ensue. In two short tweets, the comedian-turned-musical artist has gotten the Hip-Hop community engaged in a debate about two of the hottest rappers in the music industry: Lil Baby and DaBaby.

As far as Lil Duval is concerned, both of the artists share major similarities with some of the biggest rappers of past generations, and according to him, Lil Baby and DaBaby align most closely with artists like Jeezy and Ludacris

“Da baby is this generation Ludacris. Lil Baby is this generation Jeezy,” Lil Duval tweeted early Thursday morning, unknowingly igniting a heated Hip-Hop debate. Naturally, several Twitter users were sent into a tizzy following Duval’s tweets, with many of them arguing that neither of the contemporary rappers is touching Jeezy or Ludacris’s level of skill or longevity. Duval then explains that rather than comparing the artist’s skills, he’s highlighting the similarities between their overall brands and their current influence.

Lil Duval went on to show pictures of stills from Ludacris’ “Get Back” music video side by side with DaBaby’s “Suge” music video, and it’s easy to see the point that he’s trying to make in regards to both of the artists’ gimmicky approach to their visuals. Duval also backtracks a bit on his original Lil Baby hot take, revealing that after having a conversation with Charlamagne Tha God, he now thinks Lil Baby is more like this generation’s T.I.

What do you think? Does Lil Duval have a point or are his hot takes way off?
