Will Smith’s Action-Thriller “Fast & Loose” Heading To Netflix

Will Smith has a few major projects under his belt right now which shouldn’t be much of a surprise. In the past two years, he’s starred in major Blockbuster films like Bad Boys 4 LifeAladdin, and Spies In Disguise. Plus, there’s been recent conversation about whether Will Smith would return for Suicide Squad that probably won’t come into fruition.

Another film that Smith has been working on has been secured by streaming giant NetflixFast & Loose, an action-thriller starring Will Smith, was acquired by Netflix, according to Deadline. The film, which apparently was in a massive bidding war among major film companies, centers around Smith’s character John Riley who wake up in Tijuana with no recollection of being attacked. Later on, the plot twist reveals that he was living life as both an undercover agent and a major criminal kingpin.

Smith also has another project in the work for Netflix. Emancipation, directed by Antoine Fuqua, is headed to the streaming platform, along with the sequel to Bright where Smith will reprise his role as Daryl Ward.

In related news, the trailer for King Richard emerged today. It’s the first look at Will Smith as the father of Serena and Venus Williams. That film is expected to hit theatres on Nov. 19th and HBO Max for 31 days after the film’s release in cinemas.

Boosie Badazz Chimes In On DaBaby Controversy

You’d think that after facing backlash over transphobic comments, Boosie Badazz would likely try and stay out of any business that doesn’t pertain to him. Unfortunately, that’s not the case and today, he chimed in on the recent controversy surrounding DaBaby. The North Carolina rapper made some incredibly insensitive remarks to people with HIV and to the LGBTQ+ community which recently prompted BooHoo to cut their relationship with the rapper.

People like T.I. have expressed their support for DaBaby while others, like Dua Lipa, have condemned the rapper’s comments at Rolling Loud. Boosie Badazz took to Instagram Live where he shared his unwarranted thoughts defending DaBaby. “Everybody ain’t with their nephew sucking dick. Not everybody with that shit. You just can’t put that shit on everybody and expect it to be cool,” he explained before dragging Lil Nas X — who wasn’t even at Rolling Loud — to use as an example.

“Lil Nas X said he wanna perform naked on stage for charity. You don’t fuck with him like you fuck with DaBaby,” he continued. “Be even-sided. You don’t feel that’s disrespect? Going dance naked. You don’t think that’s disrespect in front of boys who tryna be straight? It’s totally disrespect.”

While DaBaby still is at the center of controversy surrounding comments he actually said, Boosie Badazz was still stuck on hypothetical situations. “If I’m at an awards and he go up there naked, I’m gonna drag his ass off stage and beat his ass,” he continued. “You let a n***a dance naked in front your children, you a mothafuckin’ crazy mothafucka. Or you like dick, too.”

Lil Uzi Vert Just Found Out He’s Not Actually The Age He Thought

Lil Uzi Vert might be trolling again but the rapper allegedly just found out that he’s not actually the age he thought he was. On Twitter, he said that his mother just found his birth certificate and, apparently, they’ve thought that he was a year older than he actually was for his entire life.

“Wait wtf I’m turning 26??? My mom found my birth certificate,” tweeted Lil Uzi.

The rapper has had a strange fixation with “the 27 club” for years, addressing a theory last year that he planned to die at that age. Perhaps this is simply his way of bypassing the “27 club”?

“Damn bro so you was 18 but really 17,” asked one fan. “Yes WTFFF!!!” responded Uzi.

When someone tried to fact-check him and ask how he got his license if he never knew his correct age, Uzi replied and said that he doesn’t have his license. “So you drive your Really expensive anime Sport cars without a license?” they asked. “Yes,” he responded, with a smiley face.

For what it’s worth, last week, Lil Uzi (and Grimes) tried to convince his fans that he was in the process of purchasing a new exoplanet. Experts later deemed that his claims were “bogus.” Maybe he’s lying about his real age too?

Lil Uzi Vert’s birthday has already been updated on Wikipedia, stating that he was born on July 31, 1995 instead of 1994. With his birthday coming up in a few days, it looks like we’ll be reliving the rapper’s twenty-sixth year all over again.

Tyler, The Creator Explains Why BET Performance Meant So Much To Him

Tyler, The Creator recently delivered his new album Call Me If You Get Lost, a project that is already earning buzz as a potential album of the year contender. In a way, the album marked a return to his hip-hop roots, and the album’s lead single “LUMBERJACK” served as a brutal reminder of how he gets down as an emcee.

Tyler drove the point home with a blistering performance of “LUMBERJACK” at the recent BET Awards, and many were quick to praise it as the ceremony’s highlight moment. Tyler actually spoke about his experience at the BET Awards during a recent interview with Complex, revealing a bit of insight into what it meant to bring his vision to the big stage.

“I was so hype to perform at the BET Awards,” he tells the publication. “Having Durk and Lil Baby and Styles P just tell me how good the performance was meant a lot. I just never felt like my style of music would ever have been, not even appreciated, but allowed on there. And because of that, I would mock it. It was like a defense mechanism because I felt like I wasn’t accepted by that audience. But when they asked me this year, man, I was enthralled. I was so happy.”

“I was like, man, I have to perform, like, one of my hardest rap songs on there,” he continues. “Cause that, that channel taught me how to rap. It taught me about just all the stuff I know. So, man, shoutout to the BET team. ’Cause they were awesome.”

He goes on to speak on an encounter with an older fan, who told him that “People think that when you do a performance with a concept or at a level like that, that it has to be for the Billboard Awards. It has to be for the Grammys. But when they go to BET, they think that they have to tone it down and make it cheap.” The fan, a sixty-year-old black man, was happy to see Tyler bring such an elaborate and creative performance to the BET stage. Tyler found himself particularly touched by the encounter, to the point where “his eyes started watering.”

Clearly, Tyler, The Creator’s BET performance was an impactful one on a variety of levels, and we can only hope he leads by example and encourages other artists to follow suit. For more from the Call Me If You Get Lost emcee, check out the full story over at Complex.

PJ Washington In Shambles After Brittany Renner Breakup: Twitter Reacts

Charlotte Hornets basketball player PJ Washington has gone viral, but NBA fans aren’t feverishly talking about the University of Kentucky basketball product‘s professional-level play. Rather than his skill, Twitter users have found themselves wrapped up in PJ Washington’s allegedly estranged relationship with Brittany Renner.

According to Hip-Hop Lately, the fitness model has been romantically linked to James Harden, Drake, Lil Uzi Vert, Jamal Murray, Ben Simmons, Trey Songz, Chris Brown, Colin Kaepernick, and more in the past, but PJ Washington and Brittany Renner had reportedly been going strong for a while, eventually having a baby together roughly a few months ago on May 5, 2021.

Within a matter of months, rumors started to surface that PJ and Brittany had sadly parted ways. Countless fans have since theorized that Renner had only been with the NBA player in an effort to get pregnant by him, with many pointing to her book, Judge This Cover, which reportedly documents Renner’s past sexual experiences. However, in a surprising tweet-and-delete, PJ Washington appears to have confirmed his fans’ theories, saying, “You was faking it all along.”

Instead of hitting Twitter to ease PJ Washington’s worries and offer their condolences to him, NBA fans have instead opted to engage in an all-out roasting session of the 22-year-old Charlotte Hornets forward. Most fans have joked that Washington should go ahead and get ready to start paying child support for nearly two decades, while others have expressed their amazement with Brittany Renner’s allegedly elaborate plan to trap Washington in the first place.

Lil Nas X Drops An ‘Uncensored’ Version Of His ‘Industry Baby’ Video And It’s A Masterful Troll

The content of Lil Nas X’s recent “Industry Baby” video is often explicit, although it was understandably cleaned up and blurred out when necessary for YouTube. Now, though, the rapper is offering an “uncensored” version of the clip, although it’s more of a hilarious tease than an actual X-rated clip.

In the first half-minute of both the original and “uncensored” videos, Nas gets acclimated to life behind bars. Then, we see an establishing shot of a running shower head. In the original video, that leads to a scene of Nas and other inmates dancing naked (but with their parts pixellated). The “uncensored” video is actually less revealing than that: Right when the viewer thinks they’re going to see some body parts, the video freezes on a still frame of the shower head as a simulated loading icon spins to make it look like the video playback isn’t working properly. That goes on for the rest of the video.

The rapper retweeted some reactions from fans who played along with the bit. One wrote, “MY MOM WALKED IN WHILE I WAS WATCHING THIS… HOW DO I EXPLAIN THIS TO HER???” Another said, “OMG their dicks were actually OUT-” A different user wrote, “Look I changed my router, called my internet provider, and bought a new computer but the video isn’t loading properly can you PLEASE reupload the right way this time.”

Watch Lil Baby And Kirk Franklin Take To The Court For Their Celebratory ‘Space Jam’ Track, ‘We Win’

Let me begin by encouraging you not to believe the bad press about Space Jam: A New Legacy — I saw the film in theaters this past weekend and it more than held up to the original. LeBron isn’t quite as great as he was in Trainwreck, but it’s close! And there’s a heartwarming family angle that was missing in the original. If you like watching toons play basketball and be silly, then you’ll love the film. And if you do go watch it, keep your ears peeled for a soundtrack that’s stuffed to the brim with rappers and musical legends, partially due to LeBron’s avid love for hip-hop I’m sure.

One such soundtrack cut is Lil Baby and Kirk Franklin collaborating on the celebratory gospel track, “We Win,” and now the pair have dropped a video for it, too. Sure, there are some moments of footage from the film, but the visual also includes Lil Baby rapping from the court, Kirk playing piano courtside, and even cute clips of younger players getting their hoop on. It’s the kind of song that a move about overcoming struggle definitely needs for that joyful, final moment, and slates along other songs of the summer remarkably well. Check out the clip above.

YS Locks In With Babyface Ray & Fenix Flexin On “Hate Me”

Compton’s YS has been a thriving voice to emerge out of Compton, though the new generation of rappers aren’t limiting themselves to regional sounds. YS has shown a tremendous amount of versatility through his ear for production that’s rooted in his stomping grounds of California.

This week, the rapper returned with a brand new single that further cements the relationship between California and the Midwest. “Hate Me” is a smooth banger that shares the thumping bass lines of the West and Detroit with Babyface Ray and Fenix Flexin’ delivering some assistance. All three rappers use the record as a moment to bask in their success, foreshadow their goals, and talk their shit.

Check out the latest offering from YS below and sound off with your thoughts in the comments.

Quotable Lyrics
I’m a Motor City young OG
I can get this shit off words, used to run OT
I get paper ’round the clock, I don’t do no sleep
We be traveling ’round for traps, but ain’t got no beef
