Billie Eilish Releases Reflective Sophomore Album “Happier Than Ever”

The pressures of celebrity have been weighing heavily on Billie Eilish in recent months. The Popstar has been riding high since she was introduced into the music scene, but this year, Eilish has found herself on the receiving end of criticism and allegations. Like many artists who have made their way to the top of the charts and faced controversy during their reign. Eilish returned with apologies, and now, she’s released Happier Than Ever, an album that reflects on how she’s navigated stardom and the pandemic.

Eilish spoke with Apple Music about creating the project with her brother FINNEAS. “It wasn’t forced, it wasn’t pressured, it wasn’t scary,” she said. “It was nice… I feel like everything I’ve created before this, as much as I love it, was kind of a battle with myself. I’ve actually talked to artists that are now going through the rise, and what I’ve said to them is, ‘I know what it’s like, but I also don’t know what it’s like for you.’ Because everybody goes through something completely different.”

Jacquees Croons Through “Not Jus Anybody” Ft. Future

The King of R&B is hoping to retain his self-appointed title with his latest offering. Jacquees ruffled a few feathers when he professed that he’s the reigning voice in the R&B scene, and even after he received backlash for his remarks, the singer doubled down that he’s deserving of the title. Over the years, Jacquees has connected with several artists including T.I., Summer Walker, Lil Baby, and Quavo, but on his Friday (July 30) release, he reunites with fellow Georgia native, Future.

The two artists linked up for “Not Jus Anybody” where they pen lyrics to their respective partners. Both Jacquees and Future trade verses about icing out their ladies with jewels, taking them on trips, and easing their minds against rumors of infidelities. Stream “Not Jus Anybody” and let us know what you think.

Quotable Lyrics

You the one, one girl
Yeah, you all that
Picture me and you alone, that’s picture-perfect
Took a chance on each other, don’t want hold back
But if you do, just let me know so I know how to move

Morray Calls On Polo G For “Trenches (Remix)”

There are several rising artists who have captivated Hip Hop, but Morray has gained attention from his peers and critics as the next in line. Earlier this year, the North Carolina artist shared his single “Trenches,” a track that pays homage to the streets that helped raise him, and while it may have been tough to navigate, Morray makes it clear that he has “love for the ghetto, love for the hood.”

On Friday (July 30), Morray returns with a remix to “Trenches” featuring Polo G. Both artists reflect on their upbringings and the struggles they endured in order to become the successful young men that they are today. While some celebrities often shun their pasts, Morray and Polo G embrace all facets of their lives.

Quotable Lyrics

Everybody see the ghetto as being a bad place
Where people run a muck, n*ggas stuck in a sad state
They don’t see the good times that outweigh the bad days
In the hood we still smile to lighten up them dark caves

Silk Sonic Keeps The Funk Rolling With Their Inviting New Single, ‘Skate’

There’s no doubt that Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars’ upcoming joint album as Silk Sonic is one of the most anticipated projects of the year. The duo set the bar extremely high earlier this year with the release of their debut single, “Leave The Door Open.” The groovy track quickly became a favorite of music lovers from all over, and soon enough, the singers would be hit with repeated requests to drop a follow-up to the song. Tonight, the duo comes through with “Skate,” at long last

If you had any fears of a misstep from Silk Sonic, we can confirm that none have occurred as “Skate” does nothing but keeps the funk alive. The track is released with a colorful video that features Bruno and Anderson performing for a group of female rollerskaters. Bruno sits behind a set of congas while Anderson takes his talents to a classic drum set. All in all, the song is quite the inviting release as the duo begs a woman that’s caught their attention to make her way over to them.

It’s very possible that “Skate” could bring the same success to Silk Sonic as “Leave The Door Open” did. The latter spent two weeks at No. 1 on the singles chart and helped the duo win Best Group at the BET Awards this year.

Toosii Steps Into The Drill Lane With Fivio Foreign For The Authoritative ‘Spin Music’

Despite rising to fame after growing up for most of his life in North Carolina, Toosii taps into his New York roots (he was born in Syracuse) to access the drill rap sound that exploded in the state thanks to names like Pop Smoke, Fivio Foreign, CJ, Rah Swish, and more on his newest single, “Spin Music” featuring Fivion Foreign.

The track arrives with a visual that opens with Toosii and Fivio surrounded by an array of dirt bikes, ATVs, and a few other flashy vehicles. Toosii heads indoors to fire off a confident verse while Fivio goes back and forth between the outdoor’s rowdiness and the company of a woman in the bedroom for his own contribution to the song.

“Spin Music” is one of ten new additions to the deluxe version of Toosii most recent project, Thank You For Believing. Presenting just one additional guest appearance from Hotboii, the updated body of work arrives under a new titled: Thank You For Believing (The Manifestation). The project also features the previously released single, “Head Over Hills.”

Dave East & Harry Fraud Grind Through “HOFFA” Ft. French Montana, G Herbo, Benny The Butcher, Jim Jones

Harry Fraud’s collaborative projects have arguably been some of the greatest joint albums to come out of the current Hip Hop scene as he’s worked with artists like Benny The Butcher and Jim Jones. On Friday (July 30), Fraud unites with New York spitter Dave East on HOFFA, a 13-track record that stays close to the essence of Hip Hop as production, lyricism, and delivery are highlighted on an even playing field.

Benny and Jones appear on HOFFA along with looks from G Herbo, Steven Young, French Montana, Cruch Calhoun, and Kiing Shooter. Tyga Delivers Rump-Shaking “Mr. Bubblegum” Single

We’re taking it back to the 2000s on Tyga’s latest single as the California rapper gives a nod to a D4L classic. Tyga has developed a reputation of being a certified hitmaker as his summer-ready singles are club anthems and party favorites. He doesn’t stray from his title on his Friday (July 30) release “Mr. Bubblegum,” a name that is pulled from D4L’s 2005 classic “Laffy Taffy”—and a track that is also sampled on the single.

T-Raw also dropped off the visual to “Mr. Bubblegum” and, as expected, it features a bevy of women showing off their backsides. Tyga looks as if he’s in heaven as his face is wedged in between two voluptuous behinds, and lyrically, he talks about his sexual escapades while delivering a catchy hook that will surely be on rotation in strip clubs worldwide.

Logic Returns With “Bobby Tarantino III” Project Ft. Cynthia Erivo

Following a brief-lived retirement, Logic admitted that he just couldn’t stay away. Since announcing that 2020 release No Pressure was his last, Logic has steadily shared a stream of singles where he either flies solo or unites with Madlib for MadGic. There were several rumors floating around regarding the two artists dropping a project together, much like Madlib’s acclaimed Bandana record he shared with Freddie Gibbs.

Instead, Logic fans have been treated to Bobby Tarantino III, a 12-track project that hosts only one feature from Emmy, Grammy, and Tony Award-winning entertainer Cynthia Erivo. This is the third installment of his acclaimed mixtape series, so stream Bobby Tarantino III and let us know how this one matches up with the others.

G-Eazy And EST Gee Refuse To Heed The Commands Of Anyone On The Ornery ‘At Will’

Since rising to fame with his 2014 debut album These Things Happen, G-Eazy has yet to go a full calendar year without sharing a project of some sort with his fans. The Bay Area act tallied four albums and five EPs in the seven years that followed and he’s showing no signs of slowing down. With the sequel project to that 2014 effort, These Things Happen Too, on the way, G-Eazy calls on EST Gee on his ornery new single, “At Will.”

The muscular effort finds the two rappers stepping up to whatever tries to stand in their way. G-Eazy leads the way with an opening verse that aims to separate himself from the competition. “They get to reachin’, that sh*t is pathеtic,” he raps. “They couldn’t walk in my shoes if I let ’em.” He then lends the mic to EST Gee, who delivers a similar verse while reflecting on his past actions. “I beat the streets, I ain’t goin’ to jail,” he says before adding, “It was killed or be killed, am I goin’ to hell?” The single also comes with a flashy visual that puts the two rappers beside a white Lamborghini and a whole lot of money to throw into the sky.

The new collaboration is expected to appear on G-Eazy’s These Things Happen Too, which he confirmed would arrive at some point this year. He also revealed that he’s recorded over 330 songs for the project, which already boasts “A Little More” with Kiana Lede and “Down” with Mulatto as potential lead singles. EST Gee, on the other hand, is just a little over a week removed from sharing Bigger Than Life Or Death, his second project of the year.

You can listen to the new track in the video above.
