SSGKobe Stuns In “MIA” Visuals Directed By Cole Bennet

SSGKobe may have just delivered one of the best music videos of the year. The young artist teamed up with director Cole Bennett to deliver “MIA” in visual form. The single is a catchy jam that finds SSGKobe vibing in autotune over a synth-heavy beat. It’s easy to see why the rookie is picking up steam.

The music video places SSGKobe in many abstract and unique scenes, including one where a spider sits on his face while he raps, and another where he’s in a tub of fish and red-tinged water. The music video really draws you in, as it whirls around and spins SSGKobe and his crew around. Check out the single “MIA” and let us know what you think below.

Quotable Lyrics
I sacrificed myself, like Jesus sacrifices for sins
I just got a Benz and I’ma push it through the wind
I just got a check and I’ma spend it on my friends
I’m lying, finna spend it on my Benz

The sounds of afrobeats are the perfect vibe for the summer and thankfully, Darkoo’s fusion of afrobeats along with elements of hip-hop and drill has helped soundtrack previous summers. Songs like “Gangsta” still ring off two years after its release but Darkoo’s subsequent releases have been effective in bringing a similar vibe while expanding her own sound.

This week, Darkoo delivered a vibe for the summer with her new EP, 2 In 1. The project is a quick 7-song effort with a run-time of a little over 20 minutes, making it a smooth listen from top to bottom. The project includes appearances from Tion Wayne, who appears on the previously released single, “Slow Down,” Unknown T, Gabzy, and Blanco.

Kanye West & Justin LaBoy Hang Out At Big3 Game

It seems that Kanye West might be getting ready to drop some new music, or at least we hope. The rapper’s been popping out more frequently, now that he’s made his way out of the Kardashian circle. And while things do seem to be heating up between himself and model Irina Shayk, ‘Ye isn’t allowing his newfound relationship interfere with public outings including a night out with Justin LaBoy.

Just a few days after tweeting that the world needs a new album from Kanye West, Justin LaBoy was seen entering the arena for the Big3 game on Saturday alongside the rap star. It was a turn of events that many wouldn’t expect but who doesn’t like a good game of basketball? Footage of a masked Kanye West walking into the building along with his entourage which included Mr. Demon Time.

It seems that Kanye West was able to chop it up with Ice Cube at one point in the evening, as well. Another image popped up of Kanye, still wearing his mask, speaking to Cube courtside.

In related news, Kanye West could be dropping new music soon. A leaked image of a private invitation to a Kanye West listening party hit the Internet last night which many believe could be a sign that DONDA is actually on its way. No confirmation of that yet but we’ll keep you posted.

The Weeknd Helps Invest Over $2 Million Into Songfinch, A Personal Song Creator

The Weeknd is just one of many investors into the upcoming music app, Songfinch, a platform where users can have songs personally made for them. Per Music Business Worldwide, the Toronto singer, along with his manager and CEO of XO Records, Wassim Slaiby, are on the board of investors for Songfinch.

The Songfinch app was created by John Williamson, Rob Lindquist, Scott Kitun, and Josh Kaplan. The app allows users to select the style of music, along with the vibe of the song that they would like created. The company then chooses an artist to complete the song based on the information that the user provides. The information can range anywhere from stories, memories, and other personal things that the user shares with the app. The songs will cost $249 and will take 3 to 7 business days to be written, recorded, engineered, and delivered to the user who ordered the song.

While going into detail about the investment into Songfinch, Slaiby commented, “Congratulations to Josh Kaplan and his partners for building an incredible company and business.”

“We’re excited to be a part of it and continue to grow it together,” Slaiby continued.

The Weeknd’s investment into Songfinch is just one of many projects he has in the works. Still riding the high off of the success of After Hourshe’s also in talks to star and co-write a new show coming to HBO. Talks surrounding the HBO project are speculated to be the reason behind his recent sightings with Angelina Jolie

Dame Dash Labels Jay-Z & Roc-A-Fella Records’ Lawsuit Against Him As ‘Corny’ And ‘Embarrassing’

Last month, Dame Dash was hit with a lawsuit from Roc-A-Fella Records after he attempted to sell an NFT of Jay-Z’s Reasonable Doubt as well as his stake in Roc-A-Fella Records. Dash owns one-third of the company along with Jay-Z and Kareem “Biggs” Burke, which brings some confusion for the lawsuit.

So far, a judge has blocked the NFT of Reasonable Doubt Dash tried to sell and shut down an attempt from him to stop a meeting between Jay-Z and Biggs. While the matter is far from solved, Dash spoke with HipHopDX to share his thoughts on the lawsuit.

“From my perspective, it feels like this was all done to devalue this asset,” Dash said to HipHopDX’s Kyle Eustice. “I just don’t understand why. What’s odd is that they knew I was only trying to sell one-third, but they’re trying to say I tried to sell the whole thing. But we all know that that’s not the case, so why do they keep saying it? The question is, why is it such a big deal? Why is everyone so scared for me to sell my one-third?”

Dash then addressed Biggs and Jay directly. “Honestly, I think this is corny,” he added. “If there’s an issue, just call me. Why do I have to hear it? Why do I have to get sued? Biggs, Jay, call me and tell me what the play is but if you swing on me, I’m going to have to swing back. And when I say that, I’m saying now that I’m looking under the hood, it looks crazy, but I just do believe that I don’t need all of this.”

He then spoke about an issue he recently discovered with Reasonable Doubt.

“And then insult to injury, just very oddly, we look at Spotify and we see that it says ‘Copyright owned by S. Carter,’” Dash says. “And we’re like, ‘The copyright is owned by Roc-A-Fella, Inc.’ I’m looking at the ledgers and they’re not showing anything that reflects income from any streaming service. So where does that go? I just want to know who authorized that. That’s all I want to know.”

He then revealed that he was offered $1.5 million from the co-founders for his stake in Roc-A-Fella before adding:

When they offered me the 1.5, I was like, “Let me see the books. Let me see how much it’s making.” When I looked at the ledgers, I was like, “Yo, I don’t see any income coming from streaming services.” And then I look on the streaming services and it’s on the streaming service. I don’t remember authorizing any of that. So we’re sitting here thinking, “What’s the long game here? Why f*ck with me?” If I want to sell my third, then you don’t have to be my partner. What’s the problem? You’re making shit up. Why not call me?
