DaBaby Claps Back At Questlove: “I Was Your Dream Performer N*gga”

He doesn’t have much to say to Madonna, but DaBaby clapped back at Questlove. Earlier today, Madonna took to her Instagram to pen a lengthy message directed at DaBaby regarding his controversial Rolling Loud comments as well as his “apologies” that followed. The rapper has made it clear that his views cannot be argued as he has the freedom to believe and speak on his opinions, but DaBaby has been hit with allegations that he’s homophobic.

The Roots icon Questlove also spoke out against DaBaby’s remarks in a social media post. “I was hypothetically asked if I was curating an updated version of #SummerOfSoul who would be my acts?” the musician penned in a post. He listed his group, Rihanna, A Tribe Called Quest, Megan Thee Stallion, Sade, The Isley Brothers, Haitus Kaiyote, Sault, and DaBaby. However, this time around, he scratched the rapper’s name out. “I gave my dream list.”

“And now I’m updating my list ——because it’s 2021 & f*ck the bullsh*t,” he added. “I’m especially not here for any savagery (if you’re lost: Google the idiocy of the crossed out). I’m not trine be all performative smurf & create a social flogging or start some click bait headlines. That’s missing the point. But right is right & his actions are wrong. Somebody Gotta say it: Homophobia/Transphobia/Xenophobia/Misogyny/Racism——this should go w/o saying is morally wrong.”

“Barely said anything about Rih in ‘06 (lemme mind my business), looked the other way w ol bol & that MaGa Hat (he going thru thangs let him work it out)——don’t even get me started on half of my rap heroes damn near becoming f*x news talking points w their russian bot reposts & misinformation on all things facts.”

After The Shade Room reposted the update, DaBaby jumped in the comments. “I was YO DREAM PERFORMER N*GGA I don’t know you my boy [crying laughing enoji],” he wrote. “Might go mf bidness dawg @questlove.” Check it out below.

A Woman Who Was Last Seen At Rolling Loud’s Miami Festival Has Been Reported Missing

According to NBC Miami and Rolling Stone, a 23-year-old woman who was last seen at this year’s recent Rolling Loud festival in Miami has been reported missing. Ashley Espinosa Sanchez was last spotted with her friend Nicholas Prevost on July 24 at the Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens. She stands at 5’2″ and 130 points with brown hair and brown eyes and when she was last seen, she was wearing a floral black and red romper and white Vans

Sanchez and Prevost made their way to the festival from Tallahassee and upon entering the festival, Prevost told NBC, Sanchez gave him her phone and walked away. Shortly after, she got lost in the festival’s large crowd, which caused Sanchez to wait until the end of the night to find her. Unfortunately, the two never reconnected and Prevost filed a missing persons report the following day. He also checked several hospitals, but he was unable to find her. Miami Police told NBC that they are working on a missing person case in order to locate Sanchez.

On Thursday, a Miami news outlet reported that Sanchez was seen Monday on surveillance camera at the Lost and Found at Hard Rock Stadium. “Video shows she was in the company of an unknown black male, 5′10″-6′0″, thin build, wearing long dark pants, black T-shirt, red shirt tied around waist, dark sneakers, and a light-colored hat,” Miami Gardens police said in a press release. They added, “Video shows Ms. Espinoza-Sanchez and the black male appear to part ways on foot in opposite directions. She was last seen walking towards parking lot #18. It is possible Ms. Espinoza-Sanchez is still in the area.”

Masego Soaks In Mexico City’s Warm Summer Sun Through His Video For ‘Mystery Lady’

Two years after his debut album Lady Lady, Masego finally returned at the end of 2020 with a new EP, Studying Abroad. The six-track effort found the singer and instrumentalist taking his sound to different corners of the world, including Africa and the Caribbean. His collaboration with Don Toliver, “Mystery Lady,” proved to be a standout effort, and months later he delivered a remix of the track on the deluxe for the 2020 release. Masego gives the project another push with a video for the remix.

The new video comes without a verse from Don Toliver, with Masego taking complete control of the vocal responsibilities. The singer is accompanied by a graceful dancer who doubles as his titular mystery lady for the video. The pair make the best out of each other’s company as they transverse Mexico City, enjoying the summer sun and the area’s peaceful environment.

Fans of Masego will soon be able to watch him perform songs from Studying Abroad: Extended Stay as well as other efforts from his impressive catalog. He’s set to bring his talents to HER’s Lights On Festival which will make stops in Concord, California and Brooklyn, New York this year.

You can watch the video for the remix of “Mystery Lady” above.

Wack 100 Tells 6ix9ine “I Don’t Think You’re Scared To Die” On Akademiks’s Podcast

The forthcoming, three-hour sit-down involving Wack 100 and Tekashi 6ix9ine has already caused a firestorm of reactions. The pair were recently featured on the premiere episode of Akademiks’s new Off The Record Podcast, and although the conversation won’t go live un August 3, we’ve received an official sneak peek of how it all went down.

This week, Wack 100 and Mysonne exchanged scathing words after the latter called out the Hip Hop producer for being a “Big Bad Blood” who sat down with someone who testified against his Nine Trey associates. After a photo of Wack 100 and 6ix9ine’s discussion was shared, Akademiks has returned with a video clip.

“When I look in your eyes, let me tell you what I see,” said Wack. “I see a motherf*cker—you have totally dismissed, you done already played it out how you gone go. I don’t think you scared to die… He’s not scared to die. He has already embraced that. He done played it out how it was gone happen if it happen. He not scared of that sh*t.”

“He really got a point to prove,” he continued. 6ix9ine chimed in and said, “That’s my point… I only attack the people that’s coming for me.” The rapper suggested that if he gets caught without his security and something happens to him, then it is fate. Check out the clip below.

Kim Kardashian Hit With Cease & Desist Over “SKKN” Brand: Report

As her estranged husband puts the finishing touches on DONDA while living in the Mercedes-Benz Stadium, Kim Kardashian is facing a new set of legal issues. Recently, Kardashian revealed that her KKW beauty line would undergo rebranding, and later, the reality mogul revealed SKKN. All seemed to be moving along for Kardashian and her team, that is until they were reportedly hit with a cease and desist letter from Beauty Concepts LLC who claim they’ve been using the name since 2017.

According to TMZ, the company reportedly has provided “salon and skincare services” under the name SKKN+, as well as having a website and social media with the name.

They also accuse Kardashian of using the “same block letter” as their logo for her new brand, and back in March, they filed an application “with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office back in March to register the SKKN+ logo.” While it all seems rather cut and dry, Kardashian’s attorney Michael G. Rhodes says otherwise.

“We certainly appreciate and support small businesses, and our hat is off to Ms. Lunsford. But the question at hand is one of trademark law and we’ve not done anything deserving of legal action by her,” he said. “We are disappointed that she has chosen to run to the media knowing that we were scheduling a call for tomorrow, requested by her attorney. So while disagreeing with the letter, we’re hopeful that we can smooth things over once both sides speak.”

Kardashian has already acquired the “SKKN.com” website as well as her own social media handles, and Beauty Concepts claims that her including “By Kim” doesn’t differentiate the brands enough. If things aren’t settled, Beauty Concepts has threatened to take Kardashian to court.

Lady Gaga And Adam Driver Do Their Best Italian Accents In The Trailer For ‘House Of Gucci’

Thursday was a big day for House of Gucci, the forthcoming fashionista drama and one of two Ridley Scott films due before year’s end. Earlier, social media lost it over the new posters, specifically the one where Jared Leto once again looks nothing like Jared Leto. Later in the day people got to see him in action, in the first official trailer, which milks one of the couture world’s wildest true tales.

The film finds Lady Gaga belatedly following up A Star is Born, which took someone who was already a Golden Globe-winning thespian next level as an actress. She plays Partrizia Reggiani, the woman infamous for (spoiler alert, sort of) ordering the murder of her husband, fashion magnate Maurizio Gucci, played by Adam Driver.

That grim conclusion is buried in a trailer, which is still chock-full of high fashion melodrama, flaring egos, thrown-about wealth, and amazing ‘80s fashions. Blondie’s “Heart of Glass” gets a slightly slower, moodier cover, as is the style of the time, over top images of comfy sweaters, Lamborghinis, and lots of broad Italian accents.

You also get to see the actors, already made instantly amusing in the poster wing of the ad campaign, in action. Leto, who plays Gucci family member Paolo, looks pretty comfortable in his bald patch and giant mustache, though the trailer is pretty skimpy on howling Al Pacino action. (He plays the family patriarch, also named Maurizio, who was also a screen actor.)

House of Gucci hits theaters on November 24. Meanwhile, Scott’s other 2021 release — The Last Duel, reuniting Matt Damon and Ben Affleck, as well as Driver, again — will be released a mere month and change earlier, on October 21.

You can watch the trailer in the video above.

Willow Smiths Calls Mental Heath “Fragile,” Says She Felt “Unsafe” In Music Career

Naomi Osaka and Simone Biles have been sports icons who have spoken out candidly about mental health, and the conversation has divided the public. People like Piers Morgan, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and thousands of others have taken to social media to chastise the women for opting to bow out of their competitions while supporters including Will Smith and Justin Bieber have praised the ladies for prioritizing their mental health.

Willow Smith recently chatted with Yungblud about the topic on The YUNGBLUD Podcast and how it has affected artists in the music industry. The celebrity spawn shared that she lived with fear for a long time. “I felt extremely unsafe in my music career in the past and that feeling of insecurity or unsafety like I didn’t feel protected, which went really deep.”

She also admitted that many of her “memories and emotions have just been resurfacing.” Willow recalled her Jimmy Fallon performance being a triggering moment. “I had like a flashback of being like ten or nine and having like an anxiety attack on set and basically feeling like everyone around me was like ‘You’re just a brat,'” she said. ‘Why aren’t you grateful?'”

“They didn’t see it as an anxiety attack, they saw it as a tantrum. Now, I look back and know it was an anxiety attack. [I] tell myself that, ‘You’re not nine, you’re a grown-ass woman.’ I have to retrain my mind,” Willow added. “My mental health is in a very fragile state, but I think it’s in a state where it’s about to grow in a really awesome way.”
