Bobby Shmurda’s New Dance Sparks Speculation About His Sexuality

If there’s one thing that’s guaranteed with Bobby Shmurda, it’s that he’s going to pull out a little dance every once in a while. The “Hot N***a” artist has an array of dance moves in his arsenal and since his prison release, he’s been showing them all off on the ‘Gram. Despite a lack of new music from the New York rapper, save for a couple of features, Bobby has been keeping his fans on their toes as to when he plans to officially return to the scene. He hasn’t offered much of a hint as to when he’s dropping, but at Rolling Loud, he premiered new music, and this week, he showed off his new dance.

The sassy moves have been described as “zesty” by fans who have been doubting Bobby’s sexual orientation as of late, but it looks like he’s genuinely just having a lot of fun being a free man. Still, people are speculating that the rapper may have an announcement coming soon about his personal life and his sexual preferences because of this dance video, as well as his recent twerking on stage.

“He been doing weird shit since he got home,” wrote one of the top commenters on The Shade Room’s video post. “He used to be a hot n***a now he js a hot girl,” joked another. “Yeah I think it’s official now lol I think I seen enough,” said another person, seemingly coming to the conclusion that Bobby is discovering himself post-prison.

Check out some of the comments underneath the video below.

Lil Wayne Reps His Label With Blinding Young Money Chain

If there’s one thing that rappers love, it’s their chains. And being that Lil Wayne has long taken pride in his reputation as “the best rapper alive,” at least in the eyes of some, it’s only fitting that his collection features some truly stunning pieces. Now, Weezy has added what may very well be his finest piece yet, brought to life by Elliot Eliantte and representing the dynasty he unleashed upon the game.

Eliantte shared a glimpse at the blindingly diamond-encrusted Young Money piece on his Instagram page, not that it could very well be missed. The iconic YM logo is absolutely stunning, a reminder of the label that brought us superstars like Drake and Nicki Minaj. As such, it’s only fitting that such a chain has come into the world, capturing the shining brilliance of a true hip-hop empire.

Don’t be surprised to see this one become a mainstay in Weezy’s wardrobe, especially with the upcoming Uproar Fest right around the corner. Set to take place on Friday, August 13th at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the concert is set to feature not only Weezy in a headlining spot, but it’s also slated to feature Young Money. Whether that means we’ll be seeing an appearance from Nicki Minaj, Drake, or Tyga remains to be seen.

What will be seen, however, is Wayne’s brand new Young Money piece. And remember, Weezy actually teased a new Young Money compilation album is in the works, so keep an eye out for news on that as well. Check it out for yourself below, and sound off if you think Weezy just secured himself one of the nicest chains in the game.

Bktherula Sticks To Her Guns On “Not Wock”

For better or worse, no one in Hip-Hop is currently making music like Bktherula. The sensational Atlanta upstart’s breakout single “TWEAKIN’ TOGETHER” earned herself a deal with Warner Records in 2020, and before the year was out, she delivered the ambient and sonically robust mixtape Nirvana

This year, Bktherula has been keeping that momentum going with tracks like “Blue” and “Santanny,” and now the inimitable rising artist is back with a spacy new track titled “Not Wock.”

Like much of Bktherula’s music so far, the femcee rattles off attention-catching bars throughout “Not Wock.” They just may be a little challenging to catch at first due to Bk’s lightning-quick pace and her tendency to occupy the weaker and more unexpected pockets of her characteristically frenetic beats. While “Not Wock” is not as sonically abrasive as the previously mentioned “Blue,” it demonstrates Bktherula’s full dedication to her unique, even if jarring, style.

Get familiar with Bktherula and her off-kilter brand of rap by listening to “Not Wock” below.

Quotable Lyrics

I’m not on the market no more, I’m in love and I put in passion (Passion)
They still gon’ know it’s me, even though it’s rona or I’m maskin, ha
I don’t know how I got money, I guess you can say I attract it, yeah (I don’t know)
Ain’t no n*gga f*cking with me ’cause I am a f*cking f*ggot, yeah

Conor McGregor Grinds It Out In The Gym After Gruesome Injury

Conor McGregor has been hit with numerous setbacks over the past couple of years and it has led to a diminished status within the UFC. After a loss to Khabib and another two defeats at the hands of Dustin Poirier, there are plenty of people out there who believe McGregor could very well be done. His latest defeat was especially troubling as he suffered a gruesome injury that involved his ankle snapping after getting leg checked on multiple occasions.

McGregor had surgery on the leg, and now, he is in the midst of a strenuous rehab that is instrumental in his recovery. It’s not going to be an easy road back, however, with some determination and a boatload of effort, McGregor could very well find himself back at the top of the UFC tier list.

Despite everything that has happened, McGregor remains extremely determined to prove all of his doubters wrong. In fact, McGregor recently took to Instagram with a slideshow of photos from his recent session in the gym. Despite having to move around in a wheelchair with a cast on his leg, McGregor is persevering and he seems ready to take on another fight. Of course, his leg needs to heal before that happens, however, it’s obvious that McGregor still has a lot of fight left in him.

“There are no limits to what we can overcome. Find the way!” he wrote.

The UFC legend still has a long way to go before he’s back in the Octagon, although if you’re Dana White, these updates from the gym are a breath of fresh air.

Trippie Redd Shares Inspiring Throwback Photo At Lil Wayne & Rick Ross Concert

From a very young age, Trippie Redd knew that he wanted to command the stage like some of the greats that came before him. This week, the Canton-raised rapper shared a throwback picture of himself and a childhood friend attending a Lil Wayne and Rick Ross concert, which sparked all kinds of motivation for the young artist-in-the-making.

“When I was young and went to watch @richforever & @liltunechi concert,” wrote Trippie as the caption. “I sat and watched and thought to myself I can do that and never stopped working until I got it u gotta just take in the energy and use it to go up.”

When somebody commented and said that they wish they own child shares Trippie’s mentality, the superstar rapper replied, writing, “I was raised from nothing I had lil never was spoiled so a lot of shit like going to someone concert was the biggest shit in the world to me! I didn’t see another concert until I was like 16 then I ended up doing my own concert months later.”

Truly inspiring stuff from Trippie Redd. In the comments, people are celebrating his ascent from small-town kid to world-renowned celebrity. Of course, there are also diehard stans ignoring his entire message and begging for the Trip At Knight tracklist, which will surely arrive soon.

Check out Trippie’s throwback Thursday photo below.

LeBron James Reacts To Russell Westbrook Trade

With LeBron James nearing the end of his career, the Los Angeles Lakers have been well aware of their situation and how their window to win a championship is coming to a close. As a result, they have been looking to make some big trades all while delivering yet another superstar to Los Angeles. With the Brooklyn Nets big three looking to win a title next season, the Lakers needed a big three of their own, and yesterday, they got it.

Russell Westbrook was officially traded to the Los Angeles Lakers in exchange for Kyle Kuzma, Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Montrezl Harrell, and the 22nd overall pick in the draft. It was a blockbuster deal that sent shockwaves throughout the NBA, and for some fans, it doesn’t seem real. Now, LeBron, Anthony Davis, and Westbrook will all get to play on the same team as one another, and it should prove to be quite the spectacle.

Last night, fans were waiting to see how LeBron would react to the big news. After all, some like to believe LeBron is the GM of the team, and as a result, they figured this trade had to be his doing. Eventually, LeBron did, indeed, react to the trade as he took to Instagram with a photoshopped post of Westbrook in a Lakers jersey. LeBron kept the caption short and sweet as he welcomed the former Washington Wizard to the Lakers organization.

It still remains to be seen how this trade will work out for the Lakers, however, it seems as though LeBron is fully on board, which is good news for the Lakers heading into next season.

DaBaby Sets Out For “Icon” Status Amid Controversy

At this point, it’s almost impossible to deny that major labels are chomping at the bit for more controversy. True, it can lead to dropped sponsorships, fumbled bags, and burnt bridges — but at the end of the day, nothing drives morbid curiosity like a little bit of conflict.

Despite DaBaby having completed his arc into full-blown villainy, the rapper’s latest single has already secured millions of views in a matter of days; it’s no wonder some are already theorizing that the whole fiasco was orchestrated by 50 Cent, who recently took the controversial rapper under his wing.

That’s not to say DaBaby’s negative comments about HIV victims haven’t elicited negative consequences. Many prominent artists, including the legendary Questlove, have spoken out against the “Suge” rapper and his discriminatory rant, and it’s possible that many of his peers may consider keeping him at arm’s length moving forward. At every turn, however, DaBaby has responded with defiance, seemingly chalking this one up to another hurdle on his road to a higher purpose.

“I was tryna be a rapper for like one more year God ready for me to be an ICON now,” he tweets. “This what I asked for I proudly accept the challenge.” Given how many people are openly blasting the once-beloved rapper — who only recently secured one of the biggest songs of 2020 in “Rockstar” — it should be interesting to see how DaBaby reacts moving forward. So far, he has opted to remain defiant, and defiant ones are certainly prone to doubling down when backed into a corner.

Check out DaBaby’s latest message below, and sound off if you think he’ll be able to bounce back from his latest brush with controversy.

Alchemist Says Vince Staples Is ‘Full Of Sh*t’ And They Have A Whole EP Finished Already

Veteran rap producer The Alchemist stoked the fires of anticipation in rap fans for his rumored joint project with Vince Staples after he tweeted his refutation of the Long Beach rapper’s claims that he takes “hella long” to complete work. Vince himself sparked the rumors when he appeared on Ebro’s Apple Music Radio show to make the claim that he recorded “30 verses on 30 beats” during a smoked-out session with Alchemist and Earl Sweatshirt. Vince said he got tired of waiting, so he recorded Vince Staples with Kenny Beats in the meantime.

However, Alchemist told fans Vince is “full of sh*t” today on Twitter. “I’ve had a finished 6 song EP with JUST HIM for over 3 months!!” he insisted. “MIXED! Plus mad songs with him and Thebe.” Alchemist has been known to send Rap Twitter into frenzies in the past, such as when he suggested he and Earl hid a joint album on YouTube under a fake name.

Of course, Vince was rumored to be releasing multiple projects this year, so it’s entirely possible that this was always going to be the second project and this back-and-forth is just their elaborate way of promoting it (weirder things have happened). Either way, rap fans who were already champing at the bit to hear more are now absolutely ecstatic to learn that the sessions Vince mentioned had possibly born fruit.

Now that this tidbit has been revealed, I guess we’ll have to see if Earl chimes in to make his own outrageous claim, at which point Rap Twitter might simply implode. If nothing else, this whole episode proves that rap in 2021 has been more fun than ever.

Miley Cyrus’ Rock-Heavy Lollapalooza Set Featured A Billy Idol Appearance And Plenty Of Covers

Miley Cyrus has gone through distinct stylistic phases in her career, trying on different musical identities with each album. The Bangerz era was pop/R&B/hip-hop, Miley Cyrus & Her Dead Petz was experimental/psychedelic, Younger Now was country/pop-rock, and now we’re at Plastic Hearts, which is rock/synth-pop. Here in the Plastic Hearts era, Cyrus has become known for her rock covers and reverence for previous generations of artists. That was on full display during her Lollapalooza set last night, which featured a bevy of covers and guest appearances.

Her 26-song set (as setlist.fm notes) began with “We Can’t Stop” before moving into a cover of Pixies’ “Where Is My Mind?.” From there, she sprinkled other covers throughout the set, including Blondie’s “Heart Of Glass,” Cher’s “Bang Bang (My Baby Shot Me Down),” Temple Of The Dog’s “Say Hello 2 Heaven,” and Sinéad O’Connor’s “Nothing Compares 2 U.” Most notable, she was joined by Billy Idol and they performed a couple of his songs together, “Night Crawling” and “White Wedding.”

Speaking of guests, aside from Idol, Cyrus also at various points had on stage G Herbo (to perform “Love Money Party”), Wiz Khalifa and Juicy J (“32”), and The Kid Laroi (“Without You”).

Cyrus posted some clips and photos from the performance and from around the festival, so check those out below, as well as some other videos from the show.
