Lil Wayne Skipped The Cash Money Reunion To Opt For A Solo Set At Essence Festival 2024, Now People Have Questions

Welp, Birdman’s subtle suggestion that Drake would make a surprise appearance at Essence Festival 2024 didn’t pan out. Still, yesterday (July 5), attendees of the culture’s biggest annual event were treated to a special onstage reunion.

During the “Ms. Gladys” rapper’s performance, he brought out New Orleans’ hometown rap group, Hot Boys. The crowd cheered in excitement seeing B.G., Juvenile, and even Mannie Fresh together, the Cash Money reunion hype did not translate to viewers outside of The Big Easy. Mainly, due to Turk’s absence and Lil Wayne’s notable decision to appear after everyone left the stage. Now, users online have questions.

Lil Wayne and Birdman tension has long since documented in music, online, as well as in the courtroom. However, in recent time, the pair seemed to have squashed their previous issues. Rumors circulating online allege Wayne was present and ready to join the reunion, but not without Turk (whom reportedly isn’t in good standings with Birdman). Sadly, as a result, the Hot Boys reunion feel through.

Supporters are now under the impression that Birdman and Wayne’s former feud could be back on. Those flames were further fanned, when Birdman delivered a verbal jab before leaving the stage just before Wayne performed a medley of his hits. “I would never let my city down and be a p*ssy ass n**** for anybody,” he said.

So, it is too early to ask if Lil Wayne does headline the Superbowl 2025 Halftime show in New Orleans if the collection could put thing to the side?

Kota The Friend & PRICE Link Up For Concise Seven-Track EP “SANCTIONED VOL. 1”

Kota the Friend is a rapper you go to for relax vibes and solid rhymes, and that is what he is providing on SANCTIONED VOL. 1. For the New York rapper, this is project number two for 2024, superseding his January tape, Lyrics to GO Vol. 5. That is the latest entry in that halo series for the “Colorado” lyricist and it was yet another business-as-usual kind of project. There are not many more rock steady spitters that Kota and it just feels like he never really flops on any occasion. On this seven-song EP, he is joined by a California artist by the name of PRICE (Price). He also goes by Pricetag and he is one half of the Audio Push tandem and works alongside Oktane.

Sadly, though, it appears that Oktane and PRICE are not too eager to release music together. The last time the hip-hop community heard anything from them was 2020 for a single called “Time To Listen”. You have to go back another year for when they dropped an album. That would be 2019’s Audio Mars. Conversely, PRICE is still active. He began releasing solo material right around the time Audio Push stopped. In fact, he also came through with a project in January too, putting out C.I.T.Y. and it’s deluxe. Maybe PRICE has a new permanent partner in rhyme with Kota the Friend, because SANCTIONED VOL. 1 sees them piece together poised performances.

Cardi B Signs A Fan’s Tattoo Of Her Out In New York

Cardi B is a very proud New Yorker, and while out on the town recently, she obviously ran into a whole lot of fans of her music and persona. However, one particular die-hard drew her attention with his tattoo of her on his right thigh, which she had to kneel down and sign with a Sharpie. It was a pretty cool moment to witness, especially as the fan seemed so starstruck that he could barely say anything upon the interaction. While the rest of the fanbase is debating about pregnancy rumors, this lucky guy is happy with his moment with the Bronx femcee and will probably remember it for a good while.

As far as the Bardi Gang is concerned, Cardi B needs a lot of eyes and ears on her right now, as fans eagerly await any sort of news on a new album. But they also recently expressed support for her over a new copyright infringement lawsuit against her from Joshua Fraustro and Miguel Aguilar, artist names Sten Joddi and Kemika 1956, respectively. The issue concerns the “Enough (Miami)” single and its alleged use of portions of the song “Greasy Frybread.” Even though it sounds like they just used a common synth or something like that, there’s a chance this could go much further in court.

Cardi B Signs A Fan’s Tattoo Of Her

Regardless, Cardi B is still feeding fans with new hints and suggestions about her next album, including a recent R&B-leaning song snippet. Fans can’t wait to hear what potential new directions her artistry takes, as well as what previous sounds and attitudes she will keep up in this transition. Obviously, we’d appreciate more new content than recycled one on such a long-awaited LP. Still, we know that the songwriting and charisma will carry either approach.

Meanwhile, Cardi B is also making a lot of waves in political discussions thanks to her condemnations of Joe Biden. However, she clarified that she has no plans to go Republican, so for all you MAGA folks out there, don’t get too excited. We’ll see what other antics and fan interactions occur in the lead-up to a new record. If only we were all so lucky as to get a John Hancock from our favs on our tattoos of them…

Diddy Put “A Bag” On Nightclub Shooting Victim’s Head & Forced Her To Relocate, She Alleges

Back in 1999, a shooting took place at a New York City nightclub following an alleged argument between Matthew “Scar” Allen and Diddy, forever changing the lives of three victims. One of them, Natania Reuben, survived a gunshot wound to the face. Shyne was later convicted of the shooting, and spent roughly a decade behind bars, while Diddy and his bodyguard were acquitted. Reuben has maintained, however, that Puff was allegedly the one who shot her.

During a recent interview with The Art Of Dialogue, she discussed life after the tragic incident, accusing Diddy of putting a hit on her. She alleges that this left her with no choice but to leave Brooklyn, where she had spent her entire life. Reuben insists that this was a necessary step to take in order to protect herself.

Natania Reuben Discusses Life After Nightclub Shooting

“I’m a Brooklyn girl; I was born and raised in Brooklyn,” she explained. “When the District Attorney’s office gets information from one of their confidential informant sources saying that there’s a bag on my head…I had businesses; I was a business owner. Why would I pick up and just leave everything I knew but for the fact that my life depended on it?” She went on to allege that Diddy also put a hit out on Scar, who died as a result of a separate shooting in 2011.

“Scar was on the run after a while because he learned that they had a bag on his head. He eventually got arrested and not too long after he got out of jail, they took him out,” Reuben alleged. AllHipHop reports that the shooting that claimed his life had nothing to do with Diddy. What do you think of Natania Reuben accusing Diddy of putting “a bag” on her head? What about her accusing him of having shot her at an NYC nightclub in 1999? Share your thoughts in the comments section down below, and keep an eye on HNHH for more updates.
