Lil Uzi Vert Delivers 26-Track on New Album 'Pink Tape'

Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape is upon us. The new release is a massive 26 tracks deep and brings in Nicki Minaj, Travis Scott, Don Toliver, Bring Me The Horizon, and BABYMETAL. The new album features the uber-popular single “Just Wanna Rock”

According to Billboard, before the launch of the album Lil Uzi Vert hosted a prom-themed album listening party at Irving Plaza in New York City, with Lil Baby and City Girls’ JT on hand.

During an appearance at The Summer Smash Festival on last Saturday (June 24), Lil Uzi stated the album would be coming “in a couple of days.” He held true to the statement.

Gibson Hazard directs the animated trailer and shows the “Just Wanna Rock” rapper preparing for a final battle after ousting all his other animated opps after his pink diamond is removed from his forehead.

You can hear the new album below.

Over the weekend, Lil Uzi Vert was on hand in Chicago for the Summer Smash Festival, and after he revealed the album would come before the end of the month, he would send the crowd into a frenzy with a stage dive.

In addition, Uzi would perform a new song, presumably on The Pink Tape, during his set.

Nicki Minaj Delays New Album, Reveals Title: ‘Pink Friday 2’

Nicki Minaj Names New Album 'Pink Friday 2,' Announces New Release Date

Just last week, Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice shook the internet by unveiling their highly-anticipated collaboration on “Barbie World” with Aqua. The song can be found on the soundtrack for the new Barbie The Movie, with the official music already hailing over 14 million views and counting.

But while Nicki has been consistently dropping new music for her fans, it looks like they’ll have to remain patient for her forthcoming album. Taking to her 222 million followers on Instagram, Nicki shared a photo of herself with the lengthy caption: “Dear Barbz, I’ve been trying to find the right time to tell you this for a few days. Due to some really exciting news that I’ll share with you guys @ a later time, I’ve shifted the album date just a tad bit. Trust me, it’ll be WELL WORTH THE WAIT…but since I AM shifting the date just a tad, I’d like to give you guys a tiny SIP of some more album tea so that I don’t have to get cussed out 🙁 so…here it goes: 🎀

MY NEW ALBUM WILL BE RELEASED ON 11.17.23.”

Nicki went on to reveal the title of the project: Pink Friday 2. This serves as the sequel to her debut album, Pink Friday, which was released back in 2010.

As always, she keeps her Barbz in mind. She continues in the caption, “🥹 I love you guys so much. I am so grateful for the years of support & love you guys have given me. At times maybe I didn’t even deserve all that you have poured into me. Nonetheless, you. will. love. this. album. I will give tour deets closer to that time, but obviously the tour will start around the first quarter of 2024. I’ll also share the REAL album cover at a later date. 💖🦄🙏🏽

On a positive note, fans can look forward to the Queen going on tour at the top of next year.

Back in March, Nicki revealed that her latest single “Red Ruby Da Sleeze,” will not be the lead single from her new project. While premiering the song on the Stationhead app, she states, “

“I dropped it as a itty-bitty just something, ‘cause I know it’s gon’ go off on tour. It’s gon’ go off on y’all. It’s just rapping. But the album, obviously I have to drop my official single for the album. ‘Red Ruby’ is not the official single for the album.”

History repeats itself? Erica Banks calls out her former label, 1501 Certified Entertainment, for skimming her on cash she believes she earned.

In a new single, Erica Banks blasts the label, rapping:

“Hoe, I’m busy, I’m drownin’ in VVs
Hook me up with a show up in 3D
I give a fuck about that life, when they see me
And they owe me some money, man, they greedy.”

If we need further confirmation, Erica Banks wrote “I’m not with them [1501 Certified] anymore.”

This is eerily similar to this situation….

Kobe Bryant’s Line at Nike Set for Launch Ahead of 8.24

Nike and Vanessa Bryant Announce New Partnership to Honor Kobe Bryant's Legacy

Nike has announced the Kobe Bryant brand of products will soon relaunch. According to Complex, Nike CEO John Donahoe detailed the return of the Kobe line for this Kobe Day, August 24.

“It’s going to be an exciting summer as we set the stage to relaunch the Kobe brand in advance of Kobe Day on 8.24,” said Donahoe.

Currently, there are no details of what would release.

Earlier this week, Vanessa Bryant won a lawsuit against BodyArmor, one of Kobe Bryant’s largest investments. According to TMZ, Kobe dropped $6 million for an investment in 2013, receiving 10% interest back. The company sold for $5.6 billion to Coca-Cola, making that investment $400 million.

President of Kobe Inc., Molly Carter, states the late basketball legend promised her 2% of his deal, which Vanessa says is false and is combatting her suit with a countersuit, stating Molly violated the non0disparagement clause in her contract. Molly is accused of calling Kobe names like “asshole” and “douche nugget.” She also added insults like “f***ing devil” and “bitch” in reference to Vanessa. Molly allegedly also attacked Vanessa’s newborn.

Molly also used racially charged language like “a lot of fancy-ass Black people” when speaking of a private jet she rode on to the NBA All-Star game.

Vanessa and her team were awarded over $1.5 million in attorney fees as the case went into arbitration, prevailing in the lawsuit and countersuit.

Lil Uzi Vert’s Unexpected Cover Of System Of A Down’s ‘Chop Suey’ From ‘Pink Tape’ Has Fans Divided

Lil Uzi Vert’s Pink Tape has been a long time coming, but at last, it’s finally here. The project dropped at midnight and since then, it has taken over social media. Fans have been particularly whipped into a frenzy by the song “CS,” which turns out to be a cover of System Of A Down’s 2001 signature song “Chop Suey!.”

After the album’s release, the phrases “Chop Suey” and “SOAD” were trending on Twitter. Some Uzi fans are pumped, like one who wrote, “Lil Uzi Vert sampling Shinsuke Nakamura’s WWE theme song, doing a cover to System Of A Down’s classic Chop Suey, and making a song with bands like Bring Me The Horizon and BABYMETAL was not on my 2023 bingo card. I have 0 complaints. It kicks ass and I want more of it.”

Meanwhile, some System Of A Down enthusiasts aren’t super impressed. One tweeted, “me seeing that system of a down is trending only to realize that people are talking about some mid ass chop suey cover,” alongside the meme of SpongeBob SquarePants‘ Squidward setting up a folding chair before going back inside in disappointment.

Listen to “CS” above and check out some more reactions below.

Pink Tape is out now via Generation Now/Atlantic Records. Find more information here.
