D-Roc Of Ying Yang Twins Insists He’s Fine After Passing Out On Stage

A troubling clip circulated over the weekend, but D-Roc from the Ying Yang Twins has returned to assure his fans that his health is in check. We reported on the video that shows D-Roc being carried off stage after passing out, and after receiving a storm of messages and calls, he shared a video to say that despite how it looks, he has quickly recovered.

“I want to thank everybody for they concern, but let me tell you what went on,” he said in the clip. “It was 84 degrees outside, yes, but on stage, it made the temperatures rise so I was getting dehydrated. Only thing I was seeing was the fog.”

D-Roc said he continuously told his manager that it was too hot and tried to drink water to combat the heat but it didn’t help.

“Next thing I know, I woke up on the golf cart, paramedics was right there and they said I was dehydrated.” The rapper drank Gatorade and plenty of water, got some rest, and the following day was reportedly back on stage in Florida. D-Roc insisted that he was doing just fine.

In his caption, he added, “Thank you to everyone that has called, messaged, or reached out in anyway to check up on me. I’m doing good. #Ontario CA we’ll be seeing you on Saturday for the 00s Playlist Concert.”

Drake Postpones His Young Money Reunion Show With Lil Wayne And Nicki Minaj After Contracting COVID

Canadian music fans looking forward to tonight’s Young Money reunion show featuring Drake, Lil Wayne, and Nicki Minaj will be disappointed to learn that the show’s chief architect Drake has announced the show must be postponed. His reason is exhaustingly familiar after the last two years; he has contracted COVID, necessitating a period of self-quarantine until he gets a negative test.

“I am truly devastated to say that I tested positive for COVID and the Young Money Reunion show scheduled for tonight is being rescheduled to the SOONEST date possible,” Drake wrote on his Instagram Story. “I will keep the city posted and share the new date whenever we have it locked. Until then I hope everyone stays safe and healthy and I love you all. I am so sorry for letting you down on our weekend together and the moment I test negative I will give you everything I got on stage (except the COVID).”

That’s mighty considerate of him, considering how some stars have treated the pandemic (which is still, y’know… ongoing). The October World Weekend event wasn’t a total bust, though. On Friday, fans at the All Canada North Stars concert were treated to a surprise appearance from Nelly Furtado, who sang her signature hit, “I’m Like A Bird” alongside a Drake who was very much in his feelings. And next year, Drake’s bringing back his OVO Fest as a tour.

Get well soon, Drake!

J. Cole Continues To Showcase His Skills On The Basketball Court

J. Cole has proven himself to be quite the talent on the basketball court. In fact, Cole has been given two opportunities in the professional basketball world. He started out by playing in the Basketball Africa League back in 2021, and more recently, he played for the Scarborough Shooting Stars in the Canadian Elite Basketball League.

Recently, Cole had to leave the Shooting Stars so that he could tend to his touring commitments. With that being said, Cole is still finding time to hit up the basketball court. For instance, Cole was recently filmed by @Junaidfilms on Instagram, who captured some of Cole’s impressive moves. Throughout the slideshow below, Cole was able to show fans exactly how he got a couple of professional gigs.

@Junaidfilms went on to post another video in which Cole can be heard offering a motivational message about success. Cole explains that having the right people around you makes success that much sweeter, and those material possessions won’t make you happy.

The Instagrammer posted their own message saying “A reminder to myself and others … you will never reach a form of happiness until you appreciate and are grateful for the things that you are blessed with now, let’s count our blessings and appreciate the things and opportunities we have in front of us.”

Beyoncé To Remove Ableist Slur From “Renaissance” Track “Heated”

Beyoncé has announced that she will be changing the lyrics to her Renaissance song, “Heated,” in response to the backlash she’s received over her inclusion of an ableist slur in the track. The decision was confirmed by Beyoncé’s team in a statement provided to Variety on Monday.

“The word, not used intentionally in a harmful way, will be replaced,” the statement reads.

Disability advocate Hannah Diviney had written, “Beyoncé’s commitment to storytelling musically and visually is unparalleled, as is her power to have the world paying attention to the narratives, struggles and nuanced lived experience of being a Black woman… But that doesn’t excuse her use of ableist language.”

The song currently features Beyoncé singing “Sp***in’ on that ass, sp** on that ass.” The word derives from the term “spastic,” and is often used in a derogative manner to refer to people with disabilities, especially cerebral palsy.

Beyoncé’s decision to change the lyrics mirrors that of Lizzo, who made the same decision after facing backlash for the slur’s inclusion in her song “Grrrls,” earlier this year.

Offensive lyrics aren’t the only issue Beyoncé has had to deal with following the release of Renaissance. The singer was also called out by Kelis for interpolating her 2003 song “Milkshake” without informing her.
