Chris Rock Compares Will Smith To Suge Knight While Joking About Oscars Slap

Chris Rock jokingly compared Will Smith to Suge Knight while speaking on the infamous Oscars slap during a recent stop on his “Chris Rock Ego Death World Tour.” Smith had said that he had attempted to reach out to Rock in a video posted on social media, Friday.

“Everybody is trying to be a f—ing victim. If everybody claims to be a victim, then nobody will hear the real victims,” Rock said on stage in Atlanta on Friday night. “Even me getting smacked by Suge Smith … I went to work the next day, I got kids.”

He added: “Anyone who says words hurt has never been punched in the face.”

With his “Suge Smith” comment, Rock is referring to Suge Knight’s violent reputation. Knight is currently serving 28 years in prison, after pleading no contest to voluntary manslaughter in a fatal 2015 hit-and-run.

The joke came just hours after Smith shared his near-six-minute video reflecting on the incident.

“I was fogged out by that point,” he said in his post. “It’s all fuzzy. I’ve reached out to Chris and the message that came back is that he’s not ready to talk and when he is, he will reach out. So I will say to you, Chris, I apologize to you. My behavior was unacceptable and I’m here whenever you’re ready to talk.”

After the slap, the Academy hit Smith with a 10-year ban from all events.

Homer products are available online through the brand’s website and are offered with complimentary shipping.

Speaking about the collection at the time of its launch, Ocean explained that dogs offer “loyalty without thinking.”

“‘When a Dog Comes to Stay’ explores the dog as a symbol of one that walks lighter. A sheepdog, an Akita and a bull terrier are rendered in pixels as if to simplify the qualities that make them our family. To the dog, it seems, loyalty is without thinking,” the “Novacane” singer said.

Homer was founded in 2018 before commercially launching in New York City in August 2021.

Drake recently dropped upwards of $3 million on one of Homer’s necklaces, according to DJ Akademiks.

Fat Joe Blames “Ego” For The Death Of New York’s Hip-Hop Scene

Fat Joe says that “ego” is what killed New York’s hip-hop scene in the 2000s. Speaking on Instagram, earlier this week, Joe explained the fall of New York hip-hop and warned that Atlanta needs to be careful to avoid the same fate.

“New York hip-hop was destroyed single-handedly by ego,” Joe declared in the clip. “The South saw how we fucked it up, meaning Atlanta, and they cliqued up and said, ‘We not gonna make that mistake.’ We got Roc-A-Fella, we got Ruff Ryders, we got Terror Squad, we got G-Unit, we got Dipset.”

Joe added that too many artists decided that they needed to be crowned the “King of New York,” a title artists still claim for themselves to this day. Earlier this year, 6ix9ine traded insults with Fivio Foreign for declaring himself the “King of New York,” following the release of his album, B.I.B.L.E.

Joe further explained: “As soon as muthafuckas started getting hot and started getting a different type of money. They started feeling like they that person, they that guy. It’s so many Kings of New York. Even me — every week someone said they the king. That’s all ego. It fucks up your ability to work with each other, to get money with each other, to embrace each other, to come up.”

Kyrie Irving Hints At Post-NBA Career Plans

Amid rumors about where he will play for the remainder of his NBA career, Brooklyn Nets star Kyrie Irving hinted at his future after his time in the league is finished during a pair of posts on Twitter, Friday.

The tweet came after Irving shared a video of the late Kobe Bryant praising the 30-year-old’s game, while highlight footage plays.

“I don’t ever have to Gas myself up,” Irving said in response to a fan. “I am going on my 12th year in the best league in the world and I am only getting better. When I am 38 years old and have time to reflect on my career truly, I will do so, but until then, I am enjoying every moment.”

He added in a follow-up tweet: “And no I won’t be done playing basketball at 38 years old lol, I’ll be in leagues all over the world playing and teaching the youth all that was taught to me.”

Despite it being rumored earlier this off-season that the Nets would trade both of their superstars, Irving and Kevin Durant, weeks have passed with no movement. Some analysts have placed doubt that the organization will be able to move either of the players before the start of the regular season.

Joey Bada$$ Defends Chris Brown Collab Amid Backlash: “People Make Mistakes”

Joey Bada$$ further defended his recent collaboration with Chris Brown during an interview with TMZ published on Thursday. Joey had faced criticism from fans for working with the singer for his song, “Welcome Back,” off of his new album, 2000.

Joey first addressed the backlash during a Reddit AMA on Monday, remarking that Brown is one of the “most talented artist musicians of all time” and fired back by asking which one of his fans is “perfect.”

“Yeah, I mean… Like I said, I think Chris Brown is one of the best artists of this generation, of our times… Of all times, know what I mean?” Joey elaborated to the outlet.

He continued: “So, for me personally, it was an honor working with him. You know, I’ve been a fan of him as long as I can remember. Since I was a kid, you know, and… People make mistakes, and I’m not justifying anybody’s mistakes in any type of way, but… after a while there’s a growing opportunity for everybody.”

Joey went on to say that sometimes his fans can be “fickle.”

He explained: “You know, they have this idea… It’s actually a lot of respect, really. They got so much respect for me and they hold me in such a high regard that they want everything that I do to be super clean. They don’t want to feel like I aligned with something or someone who necessarily, I don’t know… I look at it as more of a reverence thing. They’re very sensitive over me, so it’s not a bad thing but I need them to understand that I have my own interest in favorites and things that I’m into as just a person.”

In 2009, Brown infamously pled guilty to felony assault of his then-girlfriend, Rihanna. He’s also dealt with a series of other legal issues throughout his career.

ASAP Bari Says Playboi Carti Finessed Him Out Of Credits And Payment For ‘Go2daMoon’

In an ideal world, people will always receive credit for the things they do especially when someone else benefits. Unfortunately, the music industry is anything but an ideal world. Though there are proper platforms for songwriters, engineers, and other contributors to be given their acknowledgment, that process is often bypassed. Just this week, Kelis took issue with Beyoncé sampling her on Renaissance without reaching out to her, and now we see ASAP Bari has a similar issue with Playboi Carti.

Yesterday (July 29), Bari took to Instagram story to call out Carti for not crediting him or paying him for “Go2DaMoon” featuring Kanye West. Evidently, the ASAP Mob member played the song for Carti around the time Whole Lotta Red was being made.

“When you play Carti a Kanye song you had in ur phone produce by @wheezy,” Bari said over a clip of Carti listening to the song. “Even tho Carti never paid me or gave me Credit on the album but that go’s to a lot of rapper I’ve helped out but never got Credit for.”

Though this is yet another unfortunate situation commonplace to the music industry, Bari is still in good spirits as Kanye West recently gifted him a brand new Maybach truck days after he wrecked his previous vehicle.

50 Cent Says Former G-Unit Artists Still Blame Him For Their Career Failures

50 Cent says that, as the head of G-Unit, artists would constantly blame him for their own career failures. Speaking candidly with Houston’s 97.9 The Box for a recent interview, the legendary New York rapper discussed his role as the head of the record label.

Under 50 Cent’s direction, the label featured numerous prominent artists, including Lloyd Banks, Young Buck, Tony Yayo, The Game, and DJ Whoo Kid.

When asked whether anyone who has done him wrong has since apologized, 50 explained: “Yeah, I get that all the time. What’s ill is, when you’re in the seat, the driver’s seat, a lot of times, no, every time something goes wrong it’s your fault. If you ask artists why their career didn’t go the way they want, it’s the [fault of the] record label. See what I’m saying?”

He continued: “I happened to become the record label; so all of those artists that were around and didn’t do exactly what they thought they were supposed to do, it’s my fault that it didn’t. They give it to me individually now, like it’s not the company, it’s him.”

As a hip-hop group, G-Unit was founded in 1999 by 50 Cent, Tony Yayo, and Lloyd Banks. In 2003, 50 Cent launched G-Unit Records, on which he released his iconic debut studio album, Get Rich or Die Tryin’

Twitter Reacts To Ivana Trump Being Buried On A Golf Course

Earlier this month, Donald Trump’s ex-wife, Ivana Trump, passed away at the age of 73. Days after her death, the cause was revealed to the public. According to sources, she suffered blunt impact injuries to her torso after she fell down the stairs inside of her apartment in New York City. The state’s medical chief examiner ruled it an accident.

A couple of days ago, two weeks after Ivana’s untimely death, she was laid to rest. Her body was placed in a golden casket and buried in a plot located at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, New Jersey. Atop her gravesite sat a bouquet of white flowers along with a tombstone that featured her name, date of birth, and date of death.

According to the New York Post, the spot in which her body lies is somewhere that golfers will not be able to see. The section, which is allegedly rather small, is said to be below the backside of the first tee. A source told the outlet that she’s placed “not too far from the main clubhouse.”

After pictures of her burial surfaced on the internet, social media users were shocked by her homegoing. One user bashed the Trump family for their actions, saying, “Something about this is really f*cking sad… this just looks like she was dumped off in a pasture. What a horrible f*cking family.”

Another Twitter user claimed that the Trump family charged Ivana’s estate for maintenance fees, burial costs, and even membership fees. Check out more of the tweets below.
