Aaron Donald’s Retirement Comments Spell Uncertainty For The Rams

After winning his first Super Bowl back in February, it became a common narrative that Aaron Donald would retire. He has accomplished so much in his short career and there are some who would argue that he is the greatest defensive player ever. Having said that, Donald has not confirmed his retirement, and the Rams are trying very hard to keep him on the roster.

According to Bleacher Report, the Rams want to sign Donald to a historic contract, however, in a recent interview, Donald seemed pretty undecided on his future. Donald says he has contemplated retirement in the past and that he will only continue playing if it makes sense from an economic standpoint.

“I’ll be fine regardless, but me talking about retirement, that was happening way before we won a Super Bowl. I’ve been saying that since I got into the league I was going to play eight years and be done. That’s just what I’ve been saying. … If I was to play, it’s just to win another Super Bowl, but at the end of the day, it’s still a business and it got to make sense to me and my family,” Donald explained.

Donald recently announced that he had joined Donda Sports, so it’s clear he is still looking for opportunities. Whether or not those opportunities have to do with anything on the field, remains to be seen.

D.L. Hughley Shuts Down Mo’Nique: “Receipts > Opinions”

Mo’Nique and D.L. Hughley have been trading shots over the past few days. It began when Mo’Nique aired out her issues with D.L. Hughley’s headlining slot at their comedy show a few days ago. Mo’Nique called out Hughley on stage, claiming that she was supposed to headline the evening. Hughley later fired back, claiming that Mo’Nique was stirring up the pot and creating a false narrative. This prompted Mo’Nique to demand receipts from him.

“STOP MESSING WITH PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER MESSED WITH YOU AND WHO ONCED CONSIDERED YOU A COMRADE IN COMEDY. BUT I THANK YOU DL BECAUSE YOUR YOU’RE THE REASON WHY I FIGHT FOR MY PEOPLE LIKE I DO. ANYTIME YOU OPENED FOR THE KINGS OF COMEDY, AND I WAS THE HEADLINER FOR THE QUEENS OF COMEDY AND YOU THINK YOU SHOULD CLOSE THE SHOW OVER ME IS A PRIME EXAMPLE OF THE BIAS THAT BLACK WOMEN HAVE TO DEAL WITH IN THIS BUSINESS,” she wrote.

A few hours later, D.L. Hughley obliged Mo’Nique’s request and shared photos of his contract that clearly state that he was supposed to be the closing act for the evening. Additionally, the contract also states that Hughley should be the highest-paid artist on the show and have final approval of the line-up.

“RECEIPTS > OPINIONS. I GOT EVERYTHING THAT WAS STATED IN MY CONTRACT… EVERYTHING. BUT LET’S SAY I DIDN’T, MY BEEF WOULDN’T BE WITH ANYONE BUT THE PROMOTER AND/OR MY TEAM AND I DAMN SURE WOULDN’T MAKE IT PERSONAL. IF YOU HAVE A PROBLEM, TAKE IT UP WITH MANAGEMENT AND BY THAT I MEAN YOURS,” he wrote.

CyHi The Prynce Throws Shade At Joe Budden In New Freestyle

Joe Budden just can’t catch a break these days. The rapper-turned-podcast host has found himself in a new controversy every week, though it’s becoming more common that it’s not always his doing.

This week, the rapper caught smoke from CyHi The Prynce, who recently announced that he has a new album on the way. CyHi recently appeared on Sway’s show where he came through with a few bars. This time, CyHi tackled Nas’ Stillmatic cut “You’re Da Man” where he flexed his lyrical prowess. However, Joe Budden ended up catching a stray at some point. It wasn’t necessarily a scathing diss or anything along those lines. CyHi largely pushes back against Budden’s negativity.

“Joe Budden, why you got so much hate in your heart?/ You gon’ fuck around and make hatin’ an art/ I don’t see much time I could waste on that mark/ And please say the remarks,” CyHi raps.

Joe Budden might be living his best life on vacation but he still managed to catch wind of CyHi’s comments during his freestyle, and it seems that even he was taken aback by them. The podcaster took to Twitter where he shared a  brief response while reminding his fans that he’s currently soaking up the sun on vacay. “Why is Cyhi doing that to my name while I’m on vacation? That’s not nice,” he wrote.

It might seem like there’s tension between the two but it could very well be another attempt by CyHi The Prynce to get Joe Budden out of retirement. While Joe Budden has previously hinted that he would at going bar-for-bar with CyHi The Prynce, there hasn’t been any update on the $500K rap battle.

Future’s “Wait For U” Featuring Drake & Tems Goes Platinum

Future’s I NEVER LIKED YOUexceeded first-week sales expectations, moving 222k units in its opening week above and beyond the projected 175k, thus giving Future his eighth #1 debut on the Billboard 200. Last week, it was revealed that the album was certified gold, meaning it sold over 500,000 units in the U.S. The album featured an all-star team of collaborators, including Drake, Kanye West, Kodak, Young Thug, Gunna, Tems, and EST Gee. The deluxe album, which dropped only a few days after the original, added features from Lil Baby, Lil Durk, 42 Dugg, Babyface Ray, and Young Scooter.

Two of the collaborators, Drake and Tems, were featured on the song “WAIT FOR U”, which became an early fan favorite and sold 500k units— making it the fastest record to do so in 2022. According to Chart Data, the track has now added another 500k streams to its name, soon to earn its platinum RIAA certification with over 1 million units moved. It’s also maintained its achievement as the fastest collaboration of the year to reach this milestone, as well. Earlier this morning, the Atlanta rapper took to Twitter to acknowledge the new achievement. He wrote, “Wait for u’ platinum already. The support is appreciated #INEVERLIKEDYOU.”

Kim Kardashian & Pete Davidson Twin With Matching Bleach Blonde Hair

Pete Davidson and Kim Kardashian’s romance is still going strong. On Friday (May 27), the couple was photographed outside Kim’s Calabasas office. Cameras caught Davidson with a shower cap covering his freshly-bleached blonde hair, soon to be matching Kim’s hair. Kim appeared to be on set for a photoshoot and was seen in a nude two-piece Skims set. Kim was also accompanied by her make-up artist, Mario Dedivanovic, and her hairstylist Chris Appleton.

Sunday night, Kim revealed the results of her and Davidson’s matching hairdo on Instagram after she shared a video of them kissing. Following their Instagram debut in early March, the couple has become more public-facing with their relationship and their support for each other. Davidson recently shared a letter saying that he had parted ways with Saturday Night Live after being a cast member for eight years. The mother of four showed her support for Davidson by posting his most memorable skits from the show on her Instagram story.

The couple also attended the Met Gala together earlier this year, which is where Kim debuted her newly-blonde hair. Kim was channeling Marilyn Monroe as the reality star wore an iconic dress that Marilyn herself once wore while famously signing to president John F. Kennedy. Prior to the Met Gala, the couple took their second red carpet together when they attended the White House Correspondents Dinner. In an interview on The Ellen Show, Kim shared that she hopes to hold onto the happiness the gets from Davidson “forever.” You can read more about that here.

Lil Durk Tributes King Von & Brother DThang, Condemns Snitches With New Tattoos

Lil Durk took to Instagram last night to show off some new tattoos he got from artist Ganga in Los Angeles. Durkio’s entire back is now covered by a beautiful skull with flocks of hair, which took eight artists and eight hours to complete. He also showed off some new additions to his back legs: the word “Family” as an acronym for “For All Mine, I’ll Lay Yours”, “The Voice” right underneath that, and a crossed-out rat with the words “No Snitches Allowed” on the other leg. On the front side of his legs, Durk got “RIP King Von” and “RIP DThang” tatted on with “Allahu Akbar” right below DThang’s tribute. Lil Durk is Muslim, and the phrase translates to “God is greater.”

The “no snitches” tattoo is particularly interesting, given Lil Durk’s long-running feud with 6ix9ine and his snitch actions. However, most are impressed with the full back tattoo, and artist Ganga took to Instagram to describe the process.

“Amazing whole back session in 8 hours for my bro @lildurk with my team @gangatattoola in @nopain.by.ganga
8 tattoo artists in the same project we broke the record… The amazing team @joseecd @yeyo_tattoos @claytattoos@raphaelbarrostattoos @theparsetattoo @[email protected]

Durk’s front leg tattoos are a tribute to King Von and DThang, two loved ones of Durk both of whom tragically lost their lives. The “family” and “The Voice” tattoos, however, could be seen as another tribute to them as well. Rapper King Von, who was a close affiliate of Lil Durk’s OTF crew, was tragically shot and killed in Atlanta in November of 2020. While Durkio has paid tribute to him in the past, having such a statement on ink is powerful nonetheless. Lil Durk’s older brother DThang, who was also in his inner circle, was shot and killed in Chicago last June.

Durk has always been one to represent his community and his loved ones, and he will continue to honor their legacy wherever he goes.

Cardinals’ Jeff Gladney Dead At 25 Following Car Crash

Tragedy has struck the NFL today as it was reported by ESPN that cornerback Jeff Gladney has tragically passed away at the age of 25. This news came from Gladney’s agent Brian Overstreet who says the NFL star was killed in a car accident. Overstreet’s statement included a call for privacy, saying “We are asking prayers for the family and privacy at this most difficult time.”

Coming out of TCU, Gladney was drafted by the Minnesota Vikings before being let go in 2021. This March, Gladney was given another chance in the league with the Cardinals, and he was looking to make a good impression in training camp.

Gladney’s passing has hit a lot of people hard, including his new teammates. In fact, JJ Watt took to Twitter following the tragedy, saying “Horrifying news to hear this morning. Just tragic. Rest In Peace Jeff.” Jalen Reagor also commented on the news, stating “Lost my Brother, my best friend, my right hand man… ain’t too much more I can take man damn! R.I.P Jeff Gladney, brother watch over me please.”

This is a developing story, so stay tuned to HNHH for updates. Our hearts go out to Gladney’s family during this very difficult time.

Kodak Black Seemingly Admits To Copying Jackboy Before Saying He’s The Originator

Kodak Black and Jackboy have been beefing for about a year now, after the two artists fell out of their once-amicable relationship. Now, even the clothes they wear is ammunition in the battle. Kodak Black recently posted a picture on IG where he’s wearing the same outfit Jackboy had posted with a few days prior, saying that “How can I not take my style back from n****s? When n****s was taking my style way before.”

Kodak, in his own way, seems to have backhandedly admitted to jocking Jackboy’s flow, but maintains that he’s the one being copied. Kodak signed Jackboy to his Sniper Gang label and were on good terms for a while. Unfortunately, in June of last year, the two fell out after trading social media shots.

Since then, Kodak has called Jackboy out for owing him money and has threatened litigation. The two got into a verbal fight on IG Live last August, while Jackboy maintains Kodak should be prouder of how far he’s come. He even said the beef with Kodak feels fake and that he is not all he seems to be. Kodak is “a recruiter, not a shooter” in Jackboy’s eyes.

Jackboy has yet to respond to Kodak’s fit-snatching, although given how previous interactions between the two have seen Jackboy on the defensive side, it’s unlikely that anything will come of two rappers wearing the same shirt. Nevertheless, stay tuned to HotNewHipHop for the latest on Kodak Black and Jackboy’s beef, and we will see if the two Sniper Gang artists make up in the future.
