Ol’ Dirty Bastard 2-Hour Documentary Coming To A&E: Report

There has not been and never will be another artist like Ol’ Dirty Bastard. The world suffered a great loss after the Wu-Tang icon passed away in 2004, but his legacy has been carried on by his loved ones as well as his Rap peers who knew him intimately. For nearly two decades, there have been features and stories about the life of ODB shared in the media, but today (March 31), A&E Network officially announced that they will be airing a two-hour documentary about the beloved—and eclectic—rapper.

According to a press release, Biography: Ol’ Dirty Bastard will become the first official documentary about the celebrated Brooklyn icon.

“With exclusive rights to a never-before-seen personal archive shot by his wife, Icelene Jones, and access to his closest friends and family, this culture-defining special humanizes ODB as a man, a father, and a husband like never before,” the press release stated. “This definitive documentary is co-directed by Emmy and Peabody Award-winning Director Sam Pollard (MLK/FBI, Black Art: In The Absence of Light) alongside his son Jason Pollard (Get Me Roger Stone, Bitchin’ The Sound and Fury of Rick James) providing an intimate picture of ODB’s life and reflecting on his lasting impact on music and culture.”

“I am thrilled to tell the full story of my husband. With this documentary the world will learn about the son, the husband, the father, and the artist,” said Icelene. “I’m proud of the team that we built, including Pulse, my producing partners Nicole Beckett and Messiah Jacobs at Four Screens, and our directing team, the Pollards.”

Although the hype surrounding the documentary has already begun mounting, we’ll have to wait until 2023 for its premiere. We’ll make sure to keep you updated about its progression.

Jack Harlow Previews New Song Sampling Fergie’s ‘Glamorous’

Jack Harlow is getting a taste of the glamorous life.

As he gears up for his new album, the Grammy-nominated rapper is previewing a brand new song that features a familiar sample. Over Fergie’s 2007 hit “Glamorous,” Harlow shares some inspirational words.

“You can do it too, believe it,” he raps before Fergie sings the hook from her chart-topping hit off her 2006 debut album The Dutchess.

Harlow shared a video of himself rapping along to the Fergie-sampled song in the studio. The untitled track could appear on his highly-anticipated album Come Home the Kids Miss You, due May 6.

“My new shit is much more serious,” he told Rolling Stone of the follow-up to his 2020 debut Thats What They All Say. “Right now, my message is letting muh’fu**ers know I love hip-hop, and I’m one of the best in my generation. You can’t do that with nonchalant, like, ‘Eeey, I got the bitches,’ in clever ways over and over again. I got to dig deeper this time.”

Last month, Harlow dropped the album’s lead single “Nail Tech,” and there’s more to come. “It’s probably my least favorite song on the album,” he said.

On Sunday, he will join Lil Nas X to perform their chart-topping hit “Industry Baby” at the Grammys in Las Vegas.

Doja Cat Reveals What She Has To Do Before She Can Retire

Doja Cat recently came out and said that she would be retiring from music after a traumatic experience in Paraguay. The artist was in the country for a concert, when many local fans began crowding around her hotel. When Doja didn’t come out to say hello, they acted entitled and eventually sent threats and racial epithets her way. It was truly disgusting behavior, and it led to a while Twitter movement in which Doja’s true fans condemned the racists who continued to harass her.

Since that time, some fans have been holding out hope that she wouldn’t retire, and that it was simply a spur-of-the-moment proclamation. As Doja explained on Twitter today, just because she’s still on tour, doesn’t mean she intends on changing her mind. In a series of tweets, Doja noted that she has a ton of obligations that she still needs to get done. Once those obligations have been completed, she will exit the music industry.

“For those who are seeing me at the after hours tour, i’m not bailing. But me not bailing doesn’t mean my ass isn’t gonna disappear right after. i still got shit i gotta do. and a lot of y’all think cuz i post a fuckin picture it means i’m not out. Pic doesn’t = music GOOFY,” Doja Cat. “So yes that still means i got videos to film i got performances to do and I got content to drop so i’m pooping it out and dippin. i ain’t gone yet.”

It still remains to be seen if Doja will honor this promise, although she seems thoroughly upset with the way things have gone down as of late. Hopefully, she has a change of heart as she is most certainly one of the most consistent hitmakers we have. Of course, if she chooses to retire, it is a decision that fans will have no choice but to respect, and accept.

Kevin Durant Says Thunder Not Retiring His Jersey Would Be Anti-Basketball

Kevin Durant is one of the best scorers in the history of the NBA, and when all is said and done, he could very well be a top 10 player of all time. As it stands, Durant is playing for the Brooklyn Nets although the first half of his NBA career was spent with the Oklahoma City Thunder and the Golden State Warriors. Both of his tenures in those places ended in unsavory terms, however, both franchises should be grateful for what KD was able to provide them.

In fact, during an interview with The Ringer, Durant spoke about how he still very much loves OKC and Golden State. Durant believes that both teams will do their due diligence when it comes to honoring him and that if the Thunder somehow don’t retire his jersey, it will be akin to an affront to God. Okay…not that dramatic, but still.

“Every one of these places I played is my home,” Durant said. “I can imagine me when I’m done, and I don’t think any one of these franchises would be like, ‘No, K, what you did here is not a part of our history.’ I’m going to be a Hall of Famer when I’m done, one of the greatest to ever play. If you don’t want me to be a part of your program when I’m done playing, then that’s personal. OKC has to retire my jersey. It wouldn’t even be good for the game of basketball if they didn’t. The same with Golden State.”

It remains to be seen what these teams will decide to do, although you can’t help but agree with what Durant is saying here. These are teams that thrived because of him, and they would be better off giving him his proper dues.

Ari Fletcher Calls Out G Herbo & Taina Williams, Exposes Why G Herbo Hasn’t Seen His Son

Ari Fletcher blasted her ex G Herbo on Instagram stories calling him out and addressing the real reason he hasn’t seen their son—naming his current girlfriend Taina Williams as the problem.

Earlier today, Fletcher posted a black screen on her Instagram story, accompanied with a long paragraph directed at the “Chi-Raq” rapper and Williams.

“How about to tell the truth for ONCE,” she wrote. “Tell them how my son came home with a scar on him and saying what Taina did to him while you wasn’t home.”

She continued by noting how she gave G Herbo time to handle the situation, which he didn’t do properly, questioning Fletcher on how he’s supposed to see his son if his son can’t see Williams (being that the two live together with a child of their own and one on the way).

“That’s why you haven’t seen your son foreal and that’s why he probably don’t want me to have no other kids because the way your other baby mama treats him.”

Fletcher’s post comes just a few days after she shared a video of her son Yoshon throwing a fit because he thinks his mom is having another baby. Soon after she shared the video on her Instagram stories, it went viral on Twitter which immediately had users speculating.

Twitter users were quick to begin pulling up receipts as this drama unfolded earlier, finding an old tweet from Fletcher in 2020 about the same topic.

“I don’t want my son in public with her holding him because she told me out her own mouth that Yosohn does not like her. So I don’t want my son uncomfortable.”

A little while ago, Williams penned a lengthy post on her Instagram accompanied by a collection of loving videos and pictures of herself and Yoshon.

“I’ve allowed you to create false narratives about me in the past, but I will not let you create this narrative when it comes to a child that I have so much love for,” Williams wrote. “I’ve always had to hide my love for Yoshon out of respect for you and your wishes,” she continued.

Williams then noted that she knew what she was getting into with Fletcher by dating G Herbo, but expected a different outcome.

“I signed up for this even with all the drama that came with it,” she wrote. “I’ve always had hope that we could settle our differences like adults for the sake of our children.”

She ended the post by telling Fletcher, “I pray you find the healing you need.”

Fletcher soon responded to Williams’ post by hopping on Instagram live to talk and share a recording of her son explaining why he doesn’t want to be around Williams.

“First of all h*e, delete my son off your page, that’s #1,” Fletcher said.

She then continued by addressing Williams and G Herbo’s lack of communication about the situation where her son allegedly came home with scars on his face.

“I called y’all and told y’all what happened to my son and ain’t nobody call me, y’all waited a whole week,” said Fletcher.

“Stop playing with me. All that ‘good girl’ goody two-shoes you be tryna pull? Not goin’ for it. Been not liked you, ain’t gon like you, tried it again with your a** and you blew it,” Fletcher continued.

In another clip of the recording, Fletcher continues to address Williams and says she has no reason to lie.

“I’m not gonna sit on the Internet and come on here and lie about my child saying something that he absolutely never said or came home and said to me,” she said. “I know that every single time that my baby goes to L.A., he’s with you 24/7 his dad is barely even there. Why would I create just this specific time to be mad at the babysitter?”

In a separate clip, Yoshon explains a situation where Williams threw a pillow at him that hurt him, and did not help him up after he fell.

Back in 2020, G Herbo noted that him and Fletcher had a great co-parenting relationship despite them both having new partners. After G Herbo’s legal troubles, the two seemed to have turned over a new leaf with their parental relationship.

It’s unclear what’s truly going on with this situation, but the back-and-forth shots on social media are never a good thing.
