““Smoke n-gga !!!!!!!!!!!!” J. Cole said of the mixtape online. The tape is arriving ahead of the return of Dreamville Festival.

“You n-ggas over here talking ’bout festivals?” DJ Drama said in the album’s trailer. “I’m thinking more like invasions!… You gon’ stop playing on Dreamville’s top!… Like n-ggas don’t run this!”

And now for a word from Ib:

On Saturday, April 2, and Sunday, April 3, J. Cole and his Dreamville crew are excited to announce that Rotation, Amazon Music’s worldwide hip-hop and R&B brand, will broadcast the official live stream of the 2022 Dreamville Festival.

Dreamville Festival announced its star-studded music roster earlier this month, with 80,000+ attendees expected to attend the extended two-day music extravaganza this April. Dreamville Festival is partnering with Rotation to deliver unprecedented, real-time access to the two-day festival, which is one of the biggest yearly events on the East Coast, for fans who can’t make the trip to North Carolina.

Rob Markman, a respected music journalist and broadcaster of Rap Rotation, Gia Peppers, host of R&B Rotation DJ Mode, and hip-hop industry veteran Wayno will host the stream.

“In just a few short years, J. Cole has made Dreamville Festival into one of the preeminent hip-hop moments of the year, hosting performances from the hottest up-and-coming artists and established talents. We at Rotation have worked to make Amazon Music the home for these kinds of activations and I can’t wait to bring Dreamville Festival into the homes of hip-hop and R&B fans around the globe,” said Tim Hinshaw, head of hip-hop and R&B for Amazon Music.

“We established Dreamville Festival as one of the premier hip-hop events in the country; bringing together all aspects of the Dreamville brand. This year, we’ve scaled the festival to two days and have curated a lineup of some of Dreamville’s closest collaborators. It’s always been a goal to make Dreamville Fest accessible to fans around the world, and partnering with Amazon Music has made that a reality,” said Candace Rodney, President Dreamville Studios & Records.

The Amazon Music Channel on Twitch, Prime Video, and the Amazon Music app will exclusively broadcast the Dreamville Festival 2022 livestream on April 2-3, 2022.

Ella Mai Releases the Tracklist and Release Date for ‘Heart on My Sleeve’ Album

FPJyXErWYAA8UKw

Ella Mai is set to release her new album, Heart on My Sleeve, on May 6. The album will be released on 10 Summers/Interscope records. “I poured my whole heart into this album, more so than ever before. I am overly excited for this sophomore journey. Let’s do it all over again,” Mai said on Instagram.

The new album will be 15 songs in length and will feature Latto, Roddy Ricch, and Lucky Daye.

Speaking with Zane Lowe on New Daily Music on Apple Music 1, Ella Mai cited the lead single, “DFMU” as “almost a therapy session.”

“This song in this process was very, very hard for me because it was like my life in real time,” Ella Mai said. “So it was almost a therapy session when I was in the session. But I think that’s the best way. All the people that I grew up listening to are always very, very honest. And I’ve always just appreciated honesty. I think it’s the best way I think that people can relate to you also so…I was having a very honest conversation with Prince Charlez who I wrote the song with about I was going through at that point. And it just was basically a conversation, and it just came together that way. And I think those are the best songs because storytelling is just conversation really.”

She added, “It was one of the ones during the recording process that I just knew it had to make… I think it was maybe the 10th song in the recording process. I recorded a whole bunch of songs. And I remember saying to my day manager, I was like, ‘Yeah, this is making the list.’ And she was like, ‘We just started. Calm down. There’s no list yet. We’ve got a long way to go.’ And I’m like, ‘Yeah. Yeah, I know. But I just feel this one. I just feel this one on a different level.’ And I’m grateful that it still made the list.”

You can hear the single and see the full tracklist below.

Kanye West Might Be Able To Perform At The 2022 Grammys: Report

Kanye West has been rather quiet over the past few weeks since Instagram suspended his account. The rapper’s incessant posts about Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson, Trevor Noah, and countless others finally got put to a halt but it also came with repercussions outside of social media. The Donda 2 rapper was initially slated to perform at the Grammys but the Recording Academy pulled that offer off of the table following some highly offensive posts he shared on IG.

Per Hits Daily Double, there’s a possibility that Ye might touch the stage, after all. The Recording Academy is reportedly on pace to make one last announcement surrounding Grammy performers ahead of the live ceremony in Las Vegas on Sunday (April 3rd). The Grammys having conversations with a pool of artists including Ye, Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, and Lady Gaga.

Ye’s performance was initially pulled due to “concerning online behavior” that ultimately had the rapper banned from Instagram for 24 hours. Perhaps, his recent streak of silence is what prompted the Grammys to offer Ye a second chance.

Despite the Grammy’s decision to pull his performance, the rapper is still allowed to attend the ceremony. Kanye’s up for a number of categories including Album Of The Year, Best Rap Song, Best Melodic Rap Performance, and Best Rap Album.

We’ll keep you posted on any updates surrounding the Grammys.

Pusha T Names JAY-Z, Jeezy, and Himself as the Big 3 of Drug Rap

Pusha-T Claims 'They Won't Publish' a Children's Book He's Been Trying To Write For Years

When it comes to coke rap there aren’t many who can flow about pyrex pots and bricks like Pusha T. Speaking with Complex, Pusha T highlighted who are the three greatest coke rappers of all-time.

“Hov is first, because he made Reasonable Doubt, and that is the grail of all drug levels, without being all about drugs. It spoke more to the lifestyle,” Pusha T said. “Lyrically, I’m going to say that I’m next. And I’ll say Jeezy is third, because I don’t believe there was a stronger moment in time than Trap or Die.”

The latest display of exquisite coke bars from Pusha T comes on his new single “Diet Coke.” The single is produced by YE and 88 Keys, the latter of which reveals the single was created by him 18 years ago. Great music doesn’t age.

“I made that beat 18 years ago,” 88 Keys said. “It was an interlude that I made for my beat tape, and the name of my beat tape was called ‘The Makings of Crack Cocaine.’ How funny is that?”

You can tap into the new single below and be sure to read the full interview over at Complex.
