Your Old Droog & Tha God Fahim Collaborate On “Tha Wolf On Wall St 2: The American Dream”

Days after announcing Tha Wolf On Wall St 2: The American Dream, underground rappers Your Old Droog and Tha God Fahim have delivered their 8-track follow-up to last year’s Tha Wolf On Wall St.

Fans of the recording artists know just how unstoppable they are, both as a duo and on their own individual efforts – 2021 also saw the arrival of Tha YOD Fahim, which was uploaded within weeks of their other collaborative effort.

As Stereo Gum notes, “the two rappers find a calm, casually virtuosic chemistry” as they rap over “languid, luxurious, sample-heavy beats.” While many of their lyrics directly address the doubters that they’ve encountered in their lives, the project as a whole has themes of playing the stock market.

Stream Your Old Droog and Tha God Fahim’s Tha Wolf On Wall St 2: The American Dream below and let us know which song from the tracklist is your favourite in the comments.

Tracklist:

1. Wall St With Briefcase

2. No Days Off

3. Bull Market

4. Chubby Pockets

5. War Cry

6. War Of Millionz

7. Corporate Ladder

8. I Won’t Stop

Kilo Kish Teaches Us “NEW TRICKS: ART AESTHETICS, AND MONEY” Featuring Vince Staples

On Friday, January 28th, Florida’s own Kilo Kish delivered a new single featuring Vince Staples – “NEW TRICKS: ART, AESTHETICS, AND MONEY.”

As Pitchfork reports, the three-minute and nine-second long track comes from the 31-year-old’s forthcoming sophomore album, American Gurl. When speaking on her latest arrival, Kilo explained that the song “was inspired by the old quote warning never to bite the hand that feeds you.”

“Though it provides, I feel yanked around by the players, trends, and expectations of our age and industry. Ever-wanting to bite, question, and change.”

American Gurl serves as a follow-up to 2016’s Reflections in Real Time, and will also contain collaborations with Miguel and Jean Dawson. Look out for it on your streaming platform of choice this Friday, March 25th.

As for Vince Staples, he’s had a busy weekend, having also made an appearance on Raveena’s “Secret” single – check that out here, and let us know what you think of Kilo Kish’s latest below.

Quotable Lyrics:

Congeniality is a basis for content (Uh-huh)
Peddling narcissism wrapped in self-love and progress
(Yeah) You want it, I got it
This soul is a bargain (I know you want it)
America’s the land of pretty people and monsters
(I got it)

Young Dolph’s Murder Suspects Were Given A Week To Find Lawyers To Represent Them

Earlier this month, the suspects in Young Dolph’s murder — 32-year-old Cornelius Smith and 23-year-old Justin Johnson -— were arrested and charged with first-degree murder two months after the rapper’s death. According to FOX13 Memphis, during their first appearance in court, the two were asked by Judge Lee Coffee if they would need an attorney to be provided for them. They both declined. In a second court appearance, the suspects returned again without lawyers, leaving Judge Coffee to set a deadline for them to find representation.

“If you have a lawyer hired, that’s fine, but as I told you 10 days ago, I cannot allow you to sit in jail week after week, month after month, without a lawyer,” Judge Coffee told Smith and Johnson during the hearing. “If you don’t have a lawyer hired on Feb. 4, I’m going to hire a private attorney to represent both of you all.” In response to Judge Coffee’s request, Smith and Johnson both assured the court that they would have lawyers by the deadlines, adding that their families were working on finding attorneys for them.

This comes after the slain rapper’s label Paper Route Empire released the tribute Long Live Young Dolph. It arrived complete with features from Key Glock, Big Moochie Grape, and more. Key Glock also delivered a video for “Proud,” which appears on the album.

Kid Capri & Daughter Vina Love Team Up On “Uptown”

Kid Capri may be turning 55 next month, but he still has the lyrical wit and charisma that he carried when he was at his peak in the golden ages. As HipHop N More points out, the legendary producer, DJ, and rapper has had his name stamped in the history books for some time now.

In celebration of his birthday on Monday, February 7th, the Bronx-born creative will be sharing his first full-length project in 25 years, titled The Love. Ahead of that, Capri has tapped his daughter, Vina Love (known from Growing Up Hip Hop: New York) for a feature on his latest single, “Uptown.”

The song comes with an accompanying music video, filmed in New York which you can check out above.

Apart from working on his album, Kid Capri has also been busy assisting with his contributions to the forthcoming reboot of The Proud Family on Disney+. The rapper also found himself fighting off a nasty case of COVID, but seems to have made a strong recovery.

Stream “Uptown” below and look out for The Love, hitting DSPs on February 7th.

Kodak Black Steals…Again

Kodak Black continues his shameless stealing streak. Just a few days ago, the “Love & War” rapper hopped on Instagram to let his 11.4 million followers know that he had stolen a pickled sausage while stopped at a gas station, resulting in some pretty serious clowning at the Florida native’s expense.

Yak remains unphased by his haters as the recording artist shared what he managed to snag during his latest bout of thievery on his story earlier today. “SMH I Done Turnt Into A Thief Ouchea Lol,” he wrote, holding a tiny back scratcher in his hands, his flashy Gucci pants also visible in the background.

“N*gga Jus Stole A Damn Back Scratcher Out Da Store. Guess I Still Got It Bih,” the Dying to Live hitmaker continued. “Keep It Up Ima Start Boosting Clothes Next.” On the next slide, Kodak’s driver can be seen taking advantage of the “free” toy, using it to scratch an itch on his back.

Elsewhere on his social media, the 24-year-old continued his questionable antics, sharing a screenshot of his conversation with a woman who was seemingly hinting at getting a birthday present from him. “My birthday in a month,” she texted him.

“F*ck Ya Hoe. Ion Give Af Bout Ya Birthday,” he said, throwing in some emojis to set the tone. “F*ck You Tellin Me Dat Fa.” The unidentified person shot back, “Say less.”

Ironically enough, as XXL Mag points out, days before he became obsessed with the five-finger discount, Kodak Black celebrated his first anniversary of being free from prison and has also been enjoying the arrival of his newborn daughter – read more about that here.

Bakar Drops Third Single “NW3” For Upcoming Album

London-raised rapper/singer Bakar has emerged as one of the most exciting, impactful alternative artists in recent years. With passionately sung ballads and intriguing instrumental selection, Bakar is ready to take his status to the next level in February with his upcoming album.

Nobody’s Home will release on Feb. 25, and will build on prior hits like 2019’s “Hell N Back” and albums like 2018’s debut Badkid. To accomplish this, each of Bakar’s promotional singles ahed of the forthcoming project have been some of his most impressive work, and that is no different with “NW3,” released on Jan. 28.

The song contains different sections, where the instruments used dictate the fluctuating atmosphere. The guitar strums emphasize the melancholic crooning of Bakar, while the portions where drums are introduced help him to pick up the pace.

With downtrodden lyricism that tells of a conflicting mindset about a love interest, Bakar’s rich voice sets the melancholic tone magnificently.

Check out Bakar’s new single “NW3” below, as he gears up for next month’s album.

Quotable Lyrics
I’m on the way, spinnin’ through space
I can stop, I’ll pick you up on the way
Took me some time but it’s nothin’ to you
Took me a while, but I told the you the truth
Right from the start, shot for your heart

NBA YoungBoy Look-Alike “NCAA YoungBoy” Found Dead: Report

Many renditions of people with the same looks or voice as NBA YoungBoy have gone viral, fueling meme inspirations that play on different sports league names to replace the “NBA.” The most prominent of these was Lil Pnut, or as the internet liked to call him, “NCAA YoungBoy.”

Lil Pnut amassed over 150,000 followers on Instagram as an influencer due to this. However, this week, the 21-year-old tragically lost his life. On Jan. 28, Union Springs police in Alabama found his body in a dumpster, and it is currently unknown how he met his demise.

Fellow influencer and YouTuber clutch318money broke the news to his fans, as he and Lil Pnut had a strong friendship. He explained that Lil Pnut had been hoping to visit him in Louisiana, and perhaps wanted to leave Alabama because of safety concerns: “It’s a real sick feeling but like, I’m heartbroken in so many ways because he went back home to Alabama not so long ago and uh he called me a couple days in a row and was asking you know if he could come back to Louisiana.”

The internet was heartbroken and shocked to learn the news about Lil Pnut’s, AKA NCAA YoungBoy, passing, as he primarily brought smiles to people’s faces his entire life.

We at HotNewHipHop send our condolences to those close to Lil Pnut.
