Eazy-E’s Daughter Asks For Tribute To Her Dad During Super Bowl Halftime Show

Earlier this week, fans were elated to hear the news that this year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show will be headlined by Dr. Dre, Eminem, Kendrick Lamar, Mary J. Blige, and Snoop Dogg.

With Compton legends Dre and Lamar taking the stage together, Eazy-E’s daughter, Ebie, is pointing out that this would be an opportune moment to pay tribute to her late father, according to TMZ.

Ebie said she knows that fitting five major stars into a 20 minute time slot is tough, but a simple shout-out or an “RIP Eazy-E” would mean the world to her, especially considering the relationship her father had with some of the performers.

Dre and Eazy were both founding members of N.W.A., and although they had a falling out that ultimately ended in the former leaving the group, they eventually reconciled and had plans to reunite as a group. Unfortunately, E passed away in 1995 due to complications from HIV/AIDS.

Lamar has also spoken poignantly about the immense impact his predecessor had on his career. “I wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for Eazy,” the “King Kunta” rapper wrote back in 2015.

Ebie reportedly told TMZ that if her father were still alive today, he would probably be a part of the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show. She also said that Eazy-E would be “proud” to see an extension of himself on stage, representing Compton in such a major way.

Foogiano Is Now Engaged To Renni Rucci

Georgia rapper Foogiano is known for a few things: his hit remix with DaBaby for his song “Molly”, being signed to Gucci Mane’s label 1017 Records, and most recently being convicted for a parole violation, for which he is now serving a 5-year long prison sentence. Despite being locked up, Foogiano continues to make his love for his girlfriend Renni Rucci clear. The two have been very public about their devotion to one another, and have never been the type to hide it.

Just yesterday, Foogiano had a few gifts to send Renni on her 30th birthday. Among them was a box of chocolate-covered strawberries and a ring, captured in a photo set Renni posted to Instagram a few hours ago.

“Best birthday ever!” Renni captioned the photos. “#DirtyThirty from a girlfriend to fiancee.” In the photos, she shows off the rest of her gifts and birthday wishes, donning her ring in selfies and videos.

Foogiano and Renni started dating last year, meeting on Instagram before linking in person. Although they started interacting in the DMs, their first messages were strictly business. During our interview with Renni for Rise & Grind, she recalled DMing the rapper about getting on “Molly”, and how he started expressing interest shortly afterward. Soon, the two fell into a full-fledged relationship. “We went from talking in the DMs about a studio session to being on the phone every day,” she said.

This isn’t the first time the couple has made headlines. Earlier this year, Foogiano got into it with Trey Songz after the singer reposted one of Renni’s photos. There’s clearly nothing to worry about now; with the two close to tying the knot, their love seems stronger than ever.

Take a look at Renni’s announcement of their engagement below.

Former NASCAR Driver John Wes Townley Shot & Killed In Georgia

Sad news is coming out of the NASCAR world today as it was reported by the Athens Banner-Herald that former Truck Series driver John Wes Townley was shot and killed last night in Athens, Georgia. Both Townley and another woman had been shot, and they were both immediately brought to hospital where Townley passed away of his injuries.

As for the 30-year-old woman, she is still alive although her injuries are serious. The police have stated that they know who the shooter is and they are in the midst of investigating the deals of the case. So far, the shooter has yet to be arrested or charged with a crime, and according to Lt. Shaun Barnett, it is believed that this is a domestic violence situation.

Townley’s NASCAR career was one that saw numerous triumphs. While driving for smaller teams, Townley was able to string together some solid results, and he even won a race all the way back in 2015 at Las Vegas. The driver was also the son of Zaxby’s co-founder Tony Townley, who let the restaurant chain sponsor Townley’s numerous trucks.

This is a very sad story and our heart goes out to all of those who were affected by it. This is a developing story so stay tuned for any updates.

Burna Boy, Kali Uchis & SZA Secure Spots On This Week’s “R&B Season” Playlist

It’s been a glorious week for new releases. While artists like Meek Mill and Lil Wayne have unveiled new projects, some of R&B’s finest have graced us with some new vibes to ride out to this fall. As usual, we highlight the best of the best for our weekly R&B Season playlist. Here’s your breakdown for this week’s update:

First up, we got a new single from Burna Boy. The Nigerian star is still riding high off of the release of Twice As Tall and continues to extend his talents to other genres outside of afrobeats. This time, he linked up with Chicago’s Polo G for their new banger, “Want It All.”

Kali Uchis also came through with a massive hit alongside SZA titled, “fue mejor” to cap off the month of September. The fiery new single from the two singers was unexpected but certainly a delightful surprise. Hopefully, we hear more from SZA and Kali Uchis in the future.

JoJo cemented herself as a voice of R&B in the 2000s but her recent “comeback,” if you will, has found her bringing some incredible tracks into the fold. Now, she slid through with her latest offering titled, “Anxiety (Burlinda’s Theme)” off of her latest project, trying not to think about it.

Other inclusions on this week’s playlist are Mahalia & AJ Tracey’s new collab, the latest from Amaal, and RINI”s new collab with Wale.

Check out the latest R&B Season playlist update below.

Tone Stith & Maeta Can’t Get Over Their Exes On “Something In The Water”

Earlier this year, Tone Stith released his EP, FWM. In the months since, he’s been cooking up a new project titled, Still FWM, and also just released a new single in collaboration with Maeta.

On “Something In The Water,” the two R&B vocalists sing about love lost. Stith pours back shots while dealing with heartbreak, refusing to let his pain shine through, while Maeta ponders whether she should reconcile with her ex, or move on to someone new.

Later this fall, both Stith and Maeta will be headed out on tour with Grammy and Oscar award winning artist, H.E.R., so on top of their new single, they clearly have a lot to be excited about.

Back in 2017, then-22-year-old Stith made waves across the internet when Drake was spotted hanging out at one of his tour rehearsals. Drizzy’s been known to have an eye for spotting new talent, so when the two started chumming it up, people took notice.

Maeta has also been putting in considerable work as of late. In April she released an EP called Habits, and in the summer she reissued it, this time as a remix focused project.

Check out “Something In The Water” below.

Kanye West Reportedly Filed A Trademark For ‘Donda’ In Order To Launch A Line Of Tech Products

It looks like Kanye West still isn’t done with Donda. The rapper has been continuously making changes to the album he released at the end of August, including removing Chris Brown from “New Again.” He’s also looking to use the name for an upcoming tech line. According to legal documents that were obtained by TMZ, West filed a trademark application on September 21 that would allow him to use the album title on a wide array of tech products.

Some potential products that West would include in the line are tablet computers, audio speakers, surround sound systems, smartwatches, smart glasses, wearable activity trackers, protective flip cover for tablets, earbuds, headphones, and wireless headsets for both computers and mobile devices. If things go as planned, West may also look to add wireless receivers that come on jewelry and smart rings, as well as downloadable electronic publications that include books, magazines, journals, brochures, leaflets, pamphlets, and newsletters.

There’s no telling when this tech line would launch, but if it does, it could prove to be a big success. Until then, fans can stay tuned for a possible upcoming collaboration between West, Post Malone, and Fleet Foxes’ Robin Pecknold, as the trio was captured in the studio together. West will also join Mike Dean on the production team for Ghostface Killah’s upcoming album, Supreme Clientele 2, which the Wu-Tang rapper says will arrive in February 2022.

Kent Jones Just Dropped Off Latest Single “Bout That” Ft. Rick Ross

With their new single “Bout That”, Kent Jones and Rick Ross bask in their bossed-up lifestyles as Jones reflects on his journey from rags to riches. The song was released on all streaming platforms just a few days ago and was produced by Jones himself. On the track, Jones and Rozay detail what it was like to start from the bottom, opening with an interpolation of lyrics from Charlie Boy’s “I Look Good”.

“On my momma, on my hood/I get high, I look good,” Jones says. “Throw your bag and I keep that b*tch full/All about mine and I got it out the mud/’Cause I’m bout that.”

Following Rozay’s prideful ode to his life of luxury, Jones salutes the time it took to get there, underscoring exactly how far he’s come since he first started out. “I remember all them days we couldn’t eat proper,” Jones says. “Ramen noodles on the stove, now we eatin’ pasta/Never hate on nobody, but don’t wait on nobody/Firecrackers, I don’t give a f*ck, we in the streets poppin’.”

“Bout That” is a catchy track with bounce to it, laced with equal-parts pride and gratitude. The single is an upbeat addition to the two artists’ respective collections of singles and collaborations released just this year, and will likely garner traction in similar fashion.
