Max Kellerman Officially Leaves ESPN’s “First Take”

Last month, it was reported that Max Kellerman, Stephen A. Smith’s co-host on First Take, could possibly be getting the boot from ESPN’s beloved weekday talk show. According to previous rumors, Kellerman — who is known for bravely spewing wild hot takes about Tom Brady, Andre Iguodala, Kevin Durant, and everyone in between — was reportedly set to be removed from First Take in 2022 to take on a  take on a bigger role at ESPN Radio.

On Wednesday, however, First Take surprised viewers by suddenly revealing that today’s episode would be Max Kellerman’s final day on the job.

At the conclusion of the episode on September 1, Molly Qerim Rose, special guest Harry Douglas, and Stephen A. Smith honored Max’s five-year contributions to First Take before bidding him farewell.

“All I wanted to say was to call in and to thank my man Max for the five years,” Stephen A. Smith tells Max while calling into the show. “Originally when we talked, it was supposed to be a three-year run, and the next thing you know, it was a five-year run. We’ve been number one every single year, and you had an awful lot to do with that. I wanted to thank you for your contribution to the show. I wanted to call and wish you nothing but the best moving forward, because you’re going to be doing big things like you’ve always been doing big things. I’m calling the wish you nothing but the best, and I’m really sorry that I couldn’t be there to tell you face to face to thank you for everything that you did for the show over the last five years.”

Elton John Announces A Collaborative Album Featuring Lil Nas X, Nicki Minaj, Dua Lipa, And More

Elton John has spent a lot of time working with other artists over the past year or so, and now he’s commemorating that era with The Lockdown Sessions, a new album consisting of collaborations. While the project, which is set for release on October 22, is billed as a new album, it is like a compilation in ways, as it features previously released songs on which John is featured, like Gorillaz’s “The Pink Phantom” and Miley Cyrus’ cover of Metallica’s “Nothing Else Matters.”

Aside from the aforementioned, the album features collaborations with Brandi Carlile, Charlie Puth, Dua Lipa, Eddie Vedder, Lil Nas X, Nicki Minaj, Rina Sawayama, SG Lewis, Stevie Nicks, Stevie Wonder, Surfaces, Years & Years, Young Thug, and others.

John says of the project:

“The last thing I expected to do during lockdown was make an album. But, as the pandemic went on, one‐off projects kept cropping up. Some of the recording sessions had to be done remotely, via Zoom, which I’d obviously never done before. Some of the sessions were recorded under very stringent safety regulations: working with another artist, but separated by glass screens. But all the tracks I worked on were really interesting and diverse, stuff that was completely different to anything I’m known for, stuff that took me out of my comfort zone into completely new territory. And I realized there was something weirdly familiar about working like this. At the start of my career, in the late 60s, I worked as a session musician. Working with different artists during lockdown reminded me of that. I’d come full circle: I was a session musician again. And it was still a blast.”

Check out the The Lockdown Sessions art and tracklist below.

Netflix has more shows and movies than anyone could ever fully consume, but that hasn’t stopped the streaming giant from creating new content and purchasing exclusive streaming rights to classic content as well. Master P Reveals He’s Sending Hurricane Ida Relief To New Orleans

Hurricane Ida‘s left a devastating impact on the city of New Orleans, leading to a municipal curfew being put in place as parts of Louisiana and Mississippi are left without power. No Limit founder and NOLA legend, Master P, is stepping up through his company LA Great to provide relief for people in the city, specifically in vulnerable communities.

The rapper recently caught up with TMZ when he revealed that his water company would be coming through with relief initiatives for the city. “If you need help or you need some assistance, we gon’ make sure our people get water, we able to feed our people and help ’em get back,” he explained about the immediate assistance he plans on providing for his city.

Master P reflected on the impacts of Hurricane Katrina 16 years ago, anticipating that it might take even longer for New Orleans to recover from Hurricane Ida. However, he explained that he and his team are still working on other ways to provide relief assistance to those in need.

“I’m just praying for my people at home and we on our way down there now. It’s really just trying to make sure we can get the elderly. Get them in safe environments,” he said. “A lot of roofs have blown off. It’s gonna take a little time, man. So hopefully, the government gon’ come through with but we gon’ do our part.”

Tom Holland Seemingly Confirms Zendaya Relationship With Birthday IG Post: “My MJ”

After what’s felt like a lifetime of waiting, fans of Tom Holland and Zendaya woke up to exciting news this morning. The Spider-Man: Far From Home co-stars and rumoured lovers seemingly confirmed their relationship via Instagram. In honour of Z’s birthday today, the British actor pulled out a behind-the-scenes photo from the filming of the Marvel blockbuster.

“My MJ, have the happiest of birthdays. Gimme a call when your up xxx,” the caption reads. The picture, snapped by Zendaya on film, shows the pair prepping to shoot in wardrobe, with Holland wearing his famous Spidey suit, and even rocking what looks to be some “cuts” on his face.

The two stars first met back in 2016 on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming. In the franchise’s first film, we’re introduced to Zendaya as MJ, but she and Peter Parker don’t actually get together until the sequel. This December, we’ll see the on-screen (and now real-life) couple in full force in Spider-Man: No Way Home.

There’s no denying the chemistry that exists between the two on camera, and fans have actively been rooting for them to get together in real life for years. Back in July, a photo of Holland and Zendaya locking lips sent the internet into a spiral, receiving millions of likes in under 30 minutes.

The 25-year-old actor’s Instagram tribute is the first public acknowledgment that either has made about their relationship. An insider told UsWeekly that they’re typically very private and that they “had no idea” their aforementioned summer smooch was being photographed.

Hours after the post went up, Zendaya has written her reply. “Calling now,” she commented. What do you think they’ll be talking about?

President Joe Biden Declares The End Of The “Forever War” In Afghanistan

The conclusion to the United States’ war in Afghanistan has been in the works for years. A peace treaty was signed with the Taliban while former President Donald Trump was still in office in February 2020, and earlier this spring, current President Joe Biden announced that all American troops would be withdrawn from Afghanistan by September 11th.

Months later, President Biden and the White House have revealed that “98% percent of Americans in Afghanistan who wanted to leave were able to leave,” and during a national address on Tuesday, Biden officially declared the end to the United States’ war in Afghanistan.

U.S. President Joe Biden grips the lectern as he delivers remarks on the end of the war in Afghanistan in the State Dining Room at the White House on August 31, 2021 in Washington, DC. The last American military aircraft took off from Hamid Karzai Airport a few minutes before midnight in Kabul, marking the end of U.S. military presence in Afghanistan since the invasion following the attacks of September 11, 2001.

“My fellow Americans, the war in Afghanistan is now over,” he said during his speech on Tuesday. “I’m the fourth president who has faced the issue of whether and when to end this war. When I was running for president, I made a commitment to the American people that I would end this war. Today I’ve honored that commitment.”

“By the time I came to office, the Taliban was in his strongest military position since 2001, controlling or contesting nearly half of the country,” Biden said further along in his national address. “The previous administration’s agreements said that if we stuck to the May 1 deadline that they had signed on to leave by, the Taliban wouldn’t attack any American forces. But if we stayed, all bets were off. So we were left with a simple decision — either follow through on the commitment made by the last administration and leave Afghanistan or say we weren’t leaving and commit another tens of thousands more troops. Going back to war. That was the choice, the real choice.”

President Biden reiterated his stance on the matter, saying, “I was not going to extend this forever war, and I was not extending a forever exit.” Watch the president’s full speech below.

Isaiah Rashad Asserts His Stardom In The Mellow ‘Chad’ Video

In the video for “Chad,” the latest single from Isaiah Rashad’s long-awaited comeback album The House Is Burning, the Chattanooga rapper asserts his stardom alongside fellow Chat-town native YGTUT. Employing the “video shoot at a gas station” trope that has become so popular over the past year, Rashad fills the video with cameos from his friends in the music business. The cameos include Aminé, who appears as a delivery man, Denzel Curry, who maintains the gas station sign, and Dominic Fike, who appears to be assisting Rashad’s TDE cohort Jay Rock in some shady business. In addition, many members of the TDE posse show up, including new signee Ray Vaughn and Reason.

The video arrived just in time to highlight TDE’s next generation of stars as Kendrick Lamar departs the label after over a decade of partnership. Rashad recently had to clear up a fan misconception that one of his recent tweets dissed Kendrick for leaving; after a subtweet to his ex was interpreted as a shot at Kendrick, Isaiah deleted the tweet and explained the context on The Breakfast Club. It appears there isn’t really any bad blood between them, and Top Dawg himself wished the Compton rapper well in his future endeavors.

Isaiah, meanwhile, has been hard at work promoting his new album, releasing videos for “Runnin,” “Wat U Sed,” “From The Garden,” and now, “Chad” in relatively rapid succession while preparing to head out on Lil Sunny’s Awesome Vacation tour this month.
