Mally Mall Turns Himself In; Request To Postpone Prison Sentence Denied

After previously making a request to postpone his 33-month prison sentence, producer Mally Mall has turned himself into the feds to serve time.

It was last month that Mall cited a pending biopsy in order to determine if a mass on his thigh was cancerous or not. According to a judge, his team failed to outline why Mally couldn’t get the biopsy completed within the prison’s Health Services Division.

In response to Mally’s initial request, the judge presiding over his case stated that she would no longer “entertain any further meritless delay tactics.”

Represented by Steve Sadow, Mally Mall will be incarcerated at the Federal Correctional Institution in Sheridan, Oregon after pleading guilty to running an illegal prostitution service for over a decade throughout Clark County, Nevada.

“Mally Mall over the last several years had dedicated his life to music and helping people,” Sadow said. “He has fully recognized the error in his ways and has gone out of his way to try to make amends. He intends to take full advantage of each and every program offered by the Federal Bureau of Prisons.”

His release date is currently scheduled for December 15, 2023.

Young Chop Thinks Kanye West Dissed Him: “[He’s] A F*cking Rat”

Only a week removed from the release of his latest album, DONDA, Kanye West’s list of enemies appears to have grown. While he and Drake have continued to go back-and-forth on wax, Kanye’s faced criticism from artists like Soulja Boy and Chris Brown who were not pleased that they were left off of DONDA.

Young Chop has previously expressed his dislike for Kanye West. It began with the “Don’t Like” remix which Chop stated felt like a gentrified version of what he and Chief Keef created. Unfortunately, it seems like his issues with Kanye West haven’t been resolved since. On Saturday, Chop called out Kanye in a series of tweets over apparent “sneak dissing.”

“So y’all supporting some rats this n***a @kanyewest a Fucking rat,” he tweeted. “Bitch ass N****s keep sneak dissing me i ain’t say shit to y’all why to play with me @kanyewest,” he later added. The majority of the tweets are disjointed, and truly, don’t make a lot of sense. However, it’s fair to say that Chop is riding with Drake in his beef against Kanye West. The Chicago producer shared a link to Drake’s CLB before praising Drizzy’s “Find Your Love” which was produced by Kanye. “This was my shit in high school,” he wrote.

Some have noted that Chop’s recent issues with Kanye West could stem from a few lyrics in “Life Of The Party” ft. Andre 3000, which Drake leaked on Sound 42. In the song, Kanye not only disses Drake but claims GD. “Told Drake don’t play with me on GD / And he sent that message to everybody,” Kanye raps on the song. It’s quite possible that Chop, too, has problems with Kanye claiming a street gang at 44-years-old.

Basquiat’s Friends & Collaborators Sound Off On Jay-Z & Beyoncé’s Tiffany’s Ad

Jay-Z and Beyoncé starred in a Tiffany & Co. ad this summer that has been stirring up some controversy. The ad features a painting by Basquiat called “Equals Pi.” The piece has not been seen for years before Tiffany’s rolled it out for their commercial. The idea of Jay-Z and Beyoncé with a rare Basquiat seemed like a great idea, however, some of the artist’s old friends and colleagues aren’t thrilled with the ad.

“I’d seen the ad a couple days ago and I was horrified,” Alexis Adler told The Daily Beast. Adler lived with Basquiat from 1979-1980, and claims that “the commercialization and commodification of Jean and his art at this point—it’s really not what Jean was about.”

“Unfortunately, the museums came to Jean’s art late, so most of his art is in private hands and people don’t get to see that art except for the shows,” continued Adler. Why show it as a prop to an ad? Loan it out to a museum. In a time where there were very few Black artists represented in Western museums, that was his goal: to get to a museum.”

Stephen Torton, who mixed paints and assisted Basquiat, also had a bit to say via Instagram. “I was Jean Michel Basquiat’s assistant ,” he wrote. “I designed and built stretchers, painted backgrounds, glued drawings down on canvas, chauffeured, travelled extensively, spoke freely about many topics and worked endless hours side by side in silence . The idea that this blue background , which I mixed and applied was in any way related to Tiffany Blue is so absurd that at first I chose not to comment .”

Equals Pi was sold by the Sabbadini family to Tiffany’s. The brand was allegedly interested in the piece because of the matching Robin Egg Blue shade that the company also uses. How do you feel about Jay and Bey posing with the piece in the ad?

Freddie Gibbs Reacts To Kanye West Claiming GD On “Life Of The Party”

The Kanye West and Drake Cold War continues to escalate and we are all just watching the fallout. Since Donda and Certified Lover Boy both dropped within a week of each other, it lined Kanye and Drake up for a battle of brilliance. There was no doubt that Drake would outsell Kanye— Drizzy’s last album Scorpion sold over 700k its first week— however, the quality of their projects was the main focus of the battle.

Both ‘Ye and Drizzy fans are firmly in their respective corners, while many fans of both artists find both projects underwhelming. That is, until Drake leaked ‘Ye’s diss against him, called “Life of The Party.” The track, which features Andre 3000, is being hailed as better than both Drake and Kanye’s albums entirely. Although the Drake jabs only take up a couple of bars on the sprawling track, “Life of The Party” will be forever remembered as a diss record.

On the record, Kanye raps, “Thought we was the new Abu Dhabi / Told Drake don’t play with me, on GD /And he sent that message to everybody/ So if I hit you with a “W-Y-D” / You better hit me with, “Yes sir, I’m writing everything you need.”

Freddie Gibbs decided to weigh in on Kanye’s GD call out, tweeting “GD Jakes 😂.” The flip on T.D. Jakes, the famous bishop, earned a string of laughter from social media users.

Consequence Says He’s Looking For The Mole Who Leaked Song To Drake

Kanye West and Drake’s feud to another turn on Saturday morning when the latter decided to leak a song by the former. It was a song that didn’t make the cut for DONDA but ‘Ye has previously detailed his intention to release it in some manner. Fans immediately praised “Life Of The Party” ft. Andre 3000 is one of the best songs of the year. However, many also wondered how Drake got his hands on the record.

Consequence spoke out after the single began to trend, claiming that it was “Party Time.” While fans anticipated that the song would finally see the light of day, Con ultimately shared a diss track aimed towards Drake. He debuted the song during an Instagram Live where he also directly addressed the leak.

“We gon’ figure out who the mole is, talkin’ to the homie. All is fair in love and war, trust me. There’s no emotion with me, man,” he said. “When I find out who givin’ shit out, oh, that n**a’s gonna get more than a wedgie, n***a. Believe that.”

He continued, “What we ain’t gon’ do is act like n***as gon’ run up on my block. That’s what we ain’t gon do.”

Just as Kanye West is allowing members of his team to speak on his behalf, so is Drake. OVO affiliate Preme slid in the comment section of Akademiks’ post where he responded to Cons.

“Could’ve played donkey in shrek lookin ass u ain’t bout to do shit,” he wrote.

Andre 3000 emerged yesterday to address the song’s leak. He explained that the song he was sent originally didn’t have any mention of Drake, nor did it have the version of the verse that was released to the public. “The track I received and wrote to didn’t have the diss verse on it and we were hoping to make a more focused offering for the Donda album but I guess things happen like they are supposed to. It’s unfortunate that it was released in this wat and two artists that I love are going back and forth,” he said, adding that he would’ve liked to be on CLB as well. Check out Andre’s response below.

Noah “40” Shebib Explains Why R. Kelly Landed A Writing Credit On “CLB”

Noah “40” Shebib says that the OVO crew were forced to add R. Kelly’s writing credit as part of licensing OG Ron C’s vocals for the track “TSU,” off of Drake’s new album, Certified Lover Boy. Fans were outraged to think Drake had collaborated with the disgraced singer when the credits for the album were publicized.

The intro to “TSU” features a sample from R. Kelly’s ‘Half On A Baby’ that includes Kelly’s instrumentation and OG Ron C’s vocals. 40 says the idea of actually working with Kelly is “disgusting.”

He explained the situation in a comment on Instagram, Saturday:

On a song called tsu at the beginning is a sample of OG Ron c talking. Behind that faintly which you can’t even hear is an r Kelly song playing in the background. It has no significance no lyrics are present, r Kelly’s voice isn’t even present but if we wanted to use Ron c talking we were forced to license it. Doesn’t sit well with me let me just say that. And I’m not here to defend drakes lyrics, but I thought I would clear up that there is no actual r Kelly present and it’s a bit misleading to call him a co lyricist. It’s kinda wild cause I was just reading “Baby Girl” by Kathy Iandoli and the recounts of some of that stuff is horrific and disgusting. Then I saw this post and just had to say something because to think we would stand beside that guy or write with him is just incredibly disgusting.

Tom Brady Says He Contracted COVID-19 After The Bucs’ Super Bowl Boat Parade

Tampa Buccaneers legendary quarterback Tom Brady says that he contracted COVID-19, shortly after the team’s Super Bowl boat parade. Brady shared the news during an interview with the Tampa Bay Times, Saturday.

The news comes after the Bucs recently announced that 100% of their roster is now vaccinated going into the new season. Despite that fact, Brady says this will be a more difficult year for dealing with COVID-19 than last season.

“I actually think it’s going to play more of a factor this year than last year, just because of the way what we’re doing now and what the stadium is going to look like and what the travel is going to look like and the people in the building and the fans,” Brady explained. “It’s not like last year, although we’re getting tested like last year. It’s going to be, I definitely think guys are going to be out at different points and we’ve just got to deal with it.”

The only instances where Bucs’ players missed games, last season, for COVID-19 were when Ronald Jones missed games against Atlanta and Detroit, and when Devin White missed the season finale against Atlanta and the first playoff game at Washington.

“The track I received and wrote to didn’t have the diss verse on it and we were hoping to make a more focused offering for the Donda album,” Andre wrote in a statement. “But I guess things happen like they are supposed to. Chris Brown Takes Matters Into His Own Hands & Drops His “Donda” Verse

Chris Brown has leaked his original verse from Donda, which was cut from the album by Kanye West. Brown would’ve appeared on the track “New Again.”

Brown appeared not to have been warned that he would be removed from the project and called West a “hoe” after the final album hit streaming services, last Sunday.

“Kanye a whole hoe,” Brown wrote on his Instagram story, before adding in another since-deleted post, “Nah He Tweakin.”

West’s manager, Bu Thaim, explained to TMZ why Brown was left off of the album, earlier this week.

“No disrespect, Chris is like my little brother. That’s family,” he told the outlet, adding that West has since reached out to Brown.

He continued: “Soulja Boy, it’s all love. It wasn’t intentional. But Ye is a producer. His job is to find the best parts in the music and add it to his creative process.”

Apparently, West reaching out wasn’t quite enough to help Brown move on from the previously to-be-forgotten verse.

In the past, Brown was featured on West’s 2016 album, The Life of Pablo, for the song “Waves.” His vocals are still used for the official “New Again,” but they are only in the background.
