Kodak Black Says He’s Going On Tour With NBA Youngboy

Kodak Black just emerged out of prison earlier this year and he hasn’t wasted any time unleashing new music. The rapper’s already shared two projects so far, Haitian Boy Kodak, Before The Albumand Happy Birthday Kodak. Both projects have been bubbling up but fans are hoping that they can catch the rapper on tour sometime in the near future.

It appears that ‘Yak has a plan to hit the road and simultaneously squash his feud with NBA Youngboy, formally. The rapper was on Instagram Live where he revealed that he’s working on a tour with the Louisiana rapper, despite being locked up. Kodak said that he needs $20M for the co-headlining venture in order to split it 50/50 with Youngboy. “We was on the phone with his people and he ready to do a tour, for like, YB, for when he get out. They ready to do a tour. They talkin’ bout, like, $20Ms for the tour. We bust down $10M a piece. I need that,” he said.

Additionally, Kodak seems to resolve his issues with Quando Rondo, who previously had issues with Sniper Gang. It seems that all could be well between Yak and Quando, if they have a friendly spar. “On this SG, I’m standing on that,” he said before cracking a joke about Lul Tim. “Lul Tim knows. Stay in ya little lane, Lul Tim. Stay right there.” Quando Rondo previously burned Sniper Gang boxers which ruffled a few feathers.

The recent announcement comes on the heels of Kodak Black and Jackboy’s public falling out. During Yak’s incarceration, Jackboy had held down the Sniper Gang brand, including in the height of Kodak’s feud with Youngboy.

Anita Baker Regains Masters; Gives Fans OK To Stream Music

It was a tall order. Asking fans to hold off on their routine doses of Ms. Anita Baker, but with good reason.

It was in March that the legendary singer urged fans not to stream her music because despite outliving her recording contracts, the copryright reversion that she was owed did not take place. In other words, she had to go to bat to actually gain control of the masters that were rightfully hers.

“Miraculously… i have out-lived *ALL, of my Artists Contracts They no longer ‘Own’, My Name & Likeness,” she tweeted at the time. “And, by Law…30 yr old, Mstrs are 2B Returned, 2 Me Unfortunately, They’re gonna make me Fight 4 it. I’m Prepared, 2 do that. Please Dont advertise/buy them ABXO.”

Summer weather and cookout season certainly made such a task a difficult one to undertake. This week, however, the “Rapture” songstress delivered on news that the battle was won, announcing that her catalog was back in her hands, leaving fans to now stream her work with a clear conscience.

“All My Children Are Coming Home,” she tweeted on September 3 with a photo of her The Rapture, The Songstress, Compositions, Giving You The Best That I Got and Rhythm of Love albums. “Catalog Impossible Things Happen… Every. Single. Day. Gratefully.”

She went on to add that a box set of her catalog would soon be made available via Rhino Records

Baker tweeted on Friday that a new compilation/ box set of her music will be coming from Rhino Records.

“Thank you @Rhino_Records for the Lovely Meeting,” the singer wrote. “The New Team. And, the Intention, to Create More Joy for Generations to come.”

Drake Drops Timeless Bars On “The Remorse”

Drake’s Certified Lover Boy will be the biggest album of the year (so far). The highly anticipated project touched down last week, and fans are loving the project. Drake finds himself in familiar territory on the album, using braggadocious raps and lady-leaning singles to capture his main audience. However, we do get a glimpse of a more vulnerable Drake on songs like “The Remorse.”

Produced by 40, “The Remorse” sounds like it would be home on Take Care. Drizzy vents on the introspective track as nostalgic pianos and patented drums paint the picture in the background. Fans speculate that Drake disses Charlamagne Tha God on the track, however, the bars could be for several radio hosts. Check out “The Remorse” and let us know what you think below.

Quotable Lyrics
I’m always tryna rekindle
From the bottom the to the top, man, what’s it like in the middle?
From the lemon faced radio host that love to be bitter
To my dogs in the game who wasn’t pick of the litter
For the young Gs out here starting from the beginning
Nobody praying for you when you winning, don’t forget it

K.A.A.N. Gets Real On “Gone”

K.A.A.N. pieced together an amazing project, entitled Sunset Crest Dr. The album is going under the radar right now, due to the hype surrounding both Kanye and Drake’s projects. However, K.A.A.N. shines bright on his album and it should not be slept on.

While listening to Sunset Crest Dr., it’s hard to pick just one song that stands out amongst the rest. So many tracks resonate, such as “Gone.”K.A.A.N. vents on his smooth single. The instrumental is comprised of what sounds like a pitched-up barbershop quartet harmonizing together while vigorous percussions give the track a live feel. K.A.A.N. also offers words of advice for listeners without sounding preachy or trite. Check out “Gone” and let us know what you think below.

Quotable Lyrics
I compartmentalize the pain
But I can’t seem to find my way
I just been going through the motions every motherfucking day
Nigga when that pressure start to build, Lord knows I know the way that feel
Shit’ll get real
Making irrational decisions
I hope your wound’ll heal, yeah

Shy Glizzy & No Savage Get Gully On “Mood Switch”

Shy Glizzy and the Glizzy Gang worked to bring fans their compilation tape Don’t Feed The Sharks, and it has arrived. The project shines a spotlight on lesser-known members of Glizzy Gang, including No Savage, 3 Glizzy, Goo Glizzy, and Taliban Glizzy. One track that really sticks out on the album is “Mood Switch” featuring No Savage.

“Mood Switch” features a creepy synth that would fit right in during Halloween. The easy-paced percussions give both rappers enough space to air out their flows properly on the track. The concept of the song doesn’t really fit with the title, however, when listening to the record it’s easy to see how your own mood would change. There’s just something about those haunting synths that will make you settle into gully mode immediately.

Quotable Lyrics
Keep on making hits
I fell out with niggas just because I didn’t give them shit
You don’t know the feeling when you love ’em but they still switch
But I’m still lit, and I’m still turnt, and I’m still rich

Gucci Mane Joins 1017’s BiC Fizzle On “On God” Banger

It’s getting hard to make a case against Gucci Mane’s New 1017 being one of the hardest rosters in the South at the moment. Despite the setbacks that the incarcerations of Pooh Shiesty and Foogiano have presented, Gucci’s ear is taking no breaks and he’s packing out the lineup with a solid group of names in the meantime.

This summer, Gucci went on a particular signing spree. Among those added to 1017 was Arkansas high schooler BiC Fizzle and on his latest “On God” cut featuring fellow rapper Cootie and the 1017 honcho, his place at the label is a no-brainer.

The three men spill over on the Tay Keith-crafted backdrop to create a hard-hitting soundtrack that doesn’t veer from formulas long perfected in the Bible Belt for an easy to consume bop. Hey, if it ain’t broke.

Listen below.

Quotable Lyrics

Straight out the jungle, that youngin survived
That hunger and hustle, it’s stuck in his eyes
Switch on the blick, now it rapidly firin’
Claimin’ they step, but niggas be lyin’, on God

Consequence Backs Kanye West And Disses Drake On His New Song, ‘Party Time’

Drake’s Certified Lover Boy is laced with a number of bars that many fans took as disses toward Kanye West. One of them came on “7am In Bridle Path.” On it Drake raps, “Give that address to your driver, make it your destination / ‘Stead of just a post out of desperation.”

He adds, “This me reachin’ the deepest state of my meditation / While you over there tryna impress the nation / Mind’s runnin’ wild with the speculation.” The Toronto native also leaked the full version of West and Andre 3000’s unreleased collaboration, “Life Of The Party,” during a Sirius XM radio show.

While West himself has yet to issue a response to Drake’s shots, one of his close associates has stepped forward to address the Toronto rapper. Consequence, who was signed to GOOD Music from 2005-2011 and has spent the recent months beside West as he continued to work on Donda, arrived with a new diss track aimed at Drake titled “Party Time.”

On the record, Consequence raps, “We know two wrongs never makes thing right/ But when you insinuate, you are with the next man’s wife/ You might as well say you take the next man’s life/ ’Cause that’s a dark place that makes most men fight.” These lines refer to Drake’s “Knife Talk” with 21 Savage where the Toronto native hints at sleeping with another man’s woman, which many believe is Kim Kardashian.

Consequence then goes after Drake by attacking aspects of his personal life. “But from the outside, a person can tell/ You are going through your own personal hell / Your parents out here like Sonya and Dell,” he raps. And ever since Sophie had a story to tell / You’ve been taking Ls and coming after K / And thought we couldn’t tell you were coming after K / But most crabs are a shell of their self.”

Lastly, Consequence shares his desire to confront Drake in person. “Who told Aubs that he can play with them? / That boy Cons can run the fade with them/ I wish we could shoot five instead of group chats / Next time bring Chubbs when you shoot back.”

You can listen to “Party Time” above.

Lil Uzi Vert Admits Fans Ripped Out His Pink Forehead Diamond As He Crowd-Surfed

Spending lavishly is something that has been married to hip-hop culture for decades. Lil Uzi Vert placed a large, multi-million dollar pink diamond in his forehead not too long ago, and the internet reacted as expected. He drew a lot of criticism for spending $24 million on a diamond for his head, while others thought it was some next-level baller lifestyle move. After rocking the diamond every chance he got, Uzi started to pop up without the massive piece of jewelry in his skull.

While speaking with TMZ recently, Uzi admitted that the diamond was torn from his head at Rolling Loud. “I had a show at Rolling Loud and I jumped into the crowd and they kind of ripped it out,” Uzi stated. Luckily, he didn’t lose the $24 million piece. “I’m feeling good. I still have the diamond so I feel good.”

However, fans noticed that Lil Uzi Vert has been refraining from wearing the piece since June, before his Rolling Loud appearance. “I’ve been paying for a natural pink diamond from Elliot for years now,” Uzi said at the time of purchase. “That was the first time I saw a real natural pink diamond. A lot of M’s in my face.” Do you think something else happened to make Uzi take off the piece?
