H.E.R. Performed ‘We Made It’ Off Her New Album ‘Back Of My Mind’ At The BET Awards

H.E.R. has just released an excellent new album, Back Of My Mind, and was part of Amazon’s Prime Day concert film alongside Kid Cudi and Billie Eilish, so she’s been in the spotlight a lot lately. All that wasn’t enough to stop her from entering her BET Awards performance tonight by descending from the ceiling on a floating platform while playing the drums herself. Is there anything she can’t do? The multi-talented artist was performing the intro off her new album, “We Made It” during tonight’s show, and after kicking things off with the drums, she later put on a guitar to shred the guitar solo toward the end of the track.

Though it’s one of the earliest performances in the show, and it will be hard for people to top Cardi B and Offset announcing that the “WAP” rapper is pregnant with their second child, H.E.R.’s live rendition of this track is still going to be one of the highlights of the night. She’s become a cultural force in the R&B world in just a few short years, but clearly, this woman is a career artist. Cardi B Showed Up During Migos’ ‘Type Sh*t’ Performance To Announce She’s Pregnant Again

Migos recently released the third installment of their ongoing Culture series, and Culture III offered more of the same triplet flows and lightning fast rap verses that have been their signature from the beginning. With the impact of Culture III — including a collaboration with none other than Drake on “Having Our Way” — of course the Atlanta trio would be a presence at tonight’s BET Awards. Of course, the beloved group has been up against some heavy charges with the drama that went down between Quavo and Saweetie, who were formerly one of hip-hop’s hottest couples and had a rather brutal, public breakup. Aside from allegations of cheating, which Quavo deflected, some expensive gifts have been rescinded, and Saweetie is ready to move on.

Another related couple is doing much better though, during their performance tonight of “Type Sh*t” off the album — a collaboration with Cardi B — the one and only “WAP” artist announced that she’s pregnant again. Though her own relationship with Offset has been a little tumultuous, it looks like the couple is happy to be expanding their family. Megan Thee Stallion Performs Hit Song “Thot Sh*t” At 2021 BET Awards

Megan Thee Stallion took over the BET Awards stage to perform her new hit single, “Thot Shit,” during the ceremony, Sunday night.

The performance showcased Megan dropping it down low in front of a massive diamond alongside a team of dancers. 

Despite the track’s popularity, Megan has faced criticism for her choice of the word “thot” in the song’s title. She recently responded to those complaints on social media.

“I’m really just talking shit and taking ownership of the words ‘thot’ and ‘hoe’ bc they’re not the drag the men think it is when trying to come at women for doing them,” she explained to a fan on Twitter.

Even as the song rises in popularity, it has struggled to find a movement on TikTok, as black creators have refused to create a dance move for the track, protesting the lack of credit they often receive for their work.

As for Megan’s opportunities to take home some awards Sunday night, she is nominated for Album of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Female Hip Hop Artist, the Viewer’s Choice Award, and Video of the Year. Her Best Collaboration nomination is for her track “Cry Baby,” featuring DaBaby, with whom she has had public beef within recent weeks.

The 2021 BET Awards will be going down tonight at Los Angeles’ Microsoft Theatre with host Taraji P. Henson. Following last year’s show, the physical return of the 2021 edition of the BET Awards has been highly anticipated among fans and artists alike. Lil Baby Performs ‘We Win’ With Kirk Franklin At The 2021 BET Awards

Lil Baby has formed an era of his own thanks to the release of his 2020 album, My Turn. Despite being more than a year removed from dropping that project, the Atlanta rapper is still enjoying moments that are rooted in the album’s arrival. He was crowned Songwriter Of The Year at this year’s ASCAP Rhythm & Soul Awards and the showed credited “Emotionally Scarred” and “The Bigger Picture” as some of Baby’s best work. Now, the rapper finds himself onstage at the 2021 BET Awards where he performed “We Win” alongside Kirk Franklin. The duo was backed by a group of dancing backup singers as they shared a fiery performance the song, which serves as the lead single for the upcoming Space Jam: A New Legacy soundtrack.

In addition to performing at the show, Baby also received three nominations at the BET Awards. “The Bigger Picture” was nominated in the Coca-Cola Viewers’ Choice Award category while “For The Night,” which finds the rapper alongside DaBaby and the late Pop Smoke, can be found in the Best Collaboration category. Lastly, Lil Baby himself was nominated in the Best Male Hip-Hop Artist.

As for what’s next, Lil Baby will begin a string of festival and concert appearances now that the world has reopened for live shows. He slated to appear at the following festivals: Lyrical Lemonade’s Summer Smash, Rolling Loud’s Miami and New York shows, Made In America, and Brocolli City. He will also hit the road with Lil Durk for their Back Outside tour.

Cardi B Reveals 2nd Pregnancy During BET Awards Performance With Migos

Cardi B is officially expecting baby number two with her partner Offset. The “WAP” artist revealed that she is pregnant again during her performance at the BET Awards, Sunday night.

While the Migos were performing “Type Shit” off of their new album, Culture III, Cardi came flying onto the stage to perform her verse from the track, surprising everyone with her baby bump.

“OK Bardi with the baby bump!” Marsai Martin said after the performance.

Soon afterward, Cardi confirmed the news on her Instagram with a picture of herself and the caption “#2.” She also tagged Offset in the post. Fans filled the comments section with congratulations as well as heart, heart eyes, and other emojis.

Aside from her performance with Migos, Cardi is nominated for several awards at the ceremony. The soon-to-be mother of two is up for Best Female Hip Hop Artist, Best Collaboration, Viewer’s Choice, and Video of the Year for “WAP” with Megan Thee Stallion and Video of the Year for “Up.”

Cardi gave birth to her first daughter with Offset, Kulture Kiari Cephus, on July 10, 2018. She is named after Migos’ albums, Culture, Culture II, and Culture III.

Fans Knock Over Barricade To Chase Travis Scott After Dior Fashion Show

Fans of Travis Scott broke through a barricade in an attempt to reach the rapper following his appearance at Dior’s fashion show during Paris Fashion Week. In response, Scott sprinted away from the crowd to reach a nearby building, before turning back to yelling something towards the audience.

The incident was caught on camera and uploaded to social media in a now-viral video.

During his appearance at Dior’s show, he previewed new music featuring Westside Gunn as well as another unreleased track.

The fashion show revealed Scott’s highly anticipated collaboration with Dior. The collection included a shirt honoring the late New York rapper Pop Smoke, who was killed during a home invasion in 2020.

Smoke’s family said they appreciated the tribute.

“Me personally, I definitely appreciate the love he’s trying to give and create around Pop with his new music coming out.” Smoke’s brother, Obasi Jackson told TMZ. “Thank you so much for being a part of his legacy, continuing to support and love. We appreciate the sentiment that Travis Scott put out with his t-shirt and that he put his creative essence together to put a Pop Smoke shirt with Dior.”
