Russ’ Confidence Is On Full Display On “Money On Me”

Russ has been flooding the rap game with single after single since 2021 started. He kicked it off with a highly anticipated Lil Baby feature on “UGLY” and has continued to release a single a week for the past four weeks. After a four month grind that saw Russ chasing the bag, it’s fitting that the Atlanta rapper dropped his new release “Money on Me” this Friday.

The song, with its low-key beat and instrumental, highlights Russ’s self-encouragement motto. Described by the rapper as a “self-belief anthem,” Russ declares throughout the song that he doesn’t need any fake love- he’s got all his money and faith in himself. He extends this mindset to his fans, whom, in an Instagram post promoting the song, he asks to always bet on themselves.

This new release is definitely a testament to Russ’ controversial yet successful approach to the music industry. The rapper, who has been releasing music independently since June of last year, has long advocated for artist’s rights to their music as opposed to predatory labels. Russ himself has already made significantly more money after splitting from Columbia Records last year and obtaining ownership of his music as opposed to the exploitative deals many artists find themselves in.

“Money on Me,” thus, is Russ enjoying the benefits of his hard work and faith in himself.

Check it out here and let us know what you think.

Quotable Lyrics:

Bet on myself, and I don’t even gamble
Peep the financials, this is substantial
Skeptics in shambles, y’all got it wrong
Y’all opinions are dead, get the t-shirt and candles out
Oh, that’s your girl, why she fannin’ out?
Walk in, I bring all the cameras out
This isn’t luck, no, I planned this out

Lakers Eliminated By Suns After Another Ugly Game

The Phoenix Suns have officially advanced in the 2020-2021 NBA Playoffs, eliminating the seventh-seed Los Angeles Lakers, who got hit hard by the injury bug. The defending NBA Champions didn’t look like the same team during much of this season, with many of their struggles coming from injuries to LeBron James and Anthony Davis. Both superstar players had lingering pain all season– LeBron never fully recovered from a high ankle sprain and The Brow had several different injuries, including a groin strain, in recent weeks.

On the brink of elimination, the Lakers suited up with Anthony Davis in their starting lineup, but he was removed from the game after five minutes. The commentators criticized the Lakers’ team doctor’s decision to clear him for the game, pointing out the superstar hobbling down the court on every play. He would not return to the game.

After trailing early in the first quarter, it was clear that the Lakers just didn’t have enough manpower to complete the repeat. The Suns played well, with Devin Booker and reserve Cameron Payne shining during this series. After the game, LeBron gave Booker his signed jersey, telling him to continue being a serious star in the league.

This is the first time that LeBron James has been bounced from the first round of the NBA Playoffs. The Lakers will need to do some serious star-searching this offseason, perhaps recruiting players like Stephen Curry or Damian Lillard, if they want a chance at heading back to the NBA Finals next year.

Do you think the Suns will go far this year?

ScHoolboy Q, Ty Dolla $ign, & B-Real Connect For “BLACKS N MEXICANS” From The “Gully” Soundtrack

Gully arrives in theatres today, and dropping alongside the film — which stars actors like Kelvin Harrison Jr., Amber Heard, Jacob Latimore, Terrence Howard, and even Travis Scott —  is an eight-track original soundtrack that features an impressive assortment of artists, including 21 Savage, Don Toliver, Miguel, Buddy, Snoh Aalegra, Sleepy Rose, 2 Chainz, and more.

One of the most eye-catching songs throughout the entire tracklist, however, is “BLACKS N MEXICANS,” which is led by ScHoolboy Q and features both Ty Dolla $ign and B-Real. ScHoolboy Q hasn’t released an album since 2019 and has only sparingly appeared on other artists’ songs, so many fans will undoubtedly be overjoyed to hear the TDE rapper’s return on wax.

That being said, “BLACKS N MEXICANS” unfortunately only features one verse from the leading artist, but ScHoolboy’s verse is an inarguable standout on the three-minute cut. Ty Dolla $ign actually takes on two pretty impressive verses while Cypress Hill’s B-Realsettles for one verse as well.

Check out ScHoolboy Q’s new collab with Ty Dolla $ign and B-Real below.

Rich The Kid Describes His Dream Girl On “Boss Bitch” With Coi Leray

Last year, Rich The Kid released his latest studio album Boss Man, so it only makes sense that the rapper returns with his new single “Boss Bitch,” explaining the type of woman he wants by his side.

Things may not have gone according to plan with Tori Brixx, his girlfriend of a few years, but Rich isn’t putting his head down– on his new single, he’s detailing exactly the type of partner he’s looking for.

Describing his dream girl as smart, chill, and savage with some porn star knowledge, Rich lays out all the requirements for his preferred partner. “Boss Bitch” features rising star Coi Leray, who has been murdering her current feature run. The young rapper continues to shine on any challenge she’s faced with, peeking out as one of this year’s breakout successes.

What do you think about Rich The Kid’s new song “Boss Bitch” with Coi Leray?

Quotable Lyrics:

I need me a bad bitch, boss her up if she average
I just need a girl to cook me breakfast, I got four kids
My bitch brought me dinner to the jet, what your hoe did?
She hop on the dick and then she ride like a moped
She be tryna go out with her friends, I tell her go ahead
You be tryna lock her down, you ain’t gettin’ no bread
I just need a bitch to stay down like a airbed
I’ll make sure she look good all in Hermès

Kim Kardashian Tearfully Discusses Her Kanye West Marriage: ‘I Feel Like A F*cking Failure’

In a March teaser for the final season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, there was a clip of Kim Kardashian crying and saying, “I feel like a f*cking loser.” There wasn’t much context for the tearful moment, but regardless, it led to speculation that Kardashian was talking about her dissolving marriage with Kanye West. (It should be noted that neither Kardashian nor West have publicly confirmed or discussed their reported divorce.) It turns out that speculation was correct, though, as last night’s episode shows more from that vulnerable moment.

In a video recapping the episode, Kim and her sisters have a dispute about some cookies, which leads to a talking head shot of Khloé, who attributes Kim’s frustration with the situation to her struggling relationship with West. She also notes that Kim and West had a big fight before before a trip to Lake Tahoe. Then, in a flashback shot, Kim tearfully says:

“I think he deserves someone that can go support his every move, and go follow him all over the place, and move to Wyoming. I can’t do that. He should have a wife that supports his every move and travels with him and does everything, and I can’t. I feel like a f*cking failure, that it’s like, a third f*cking marriage. Yeah, I feel like a f*cking loser. But I can’t even think about that. Like, I want to be happy.”

BuzzFeed News notes that in the full flashback clip from the episode, before the segment that’s featured in the teaser video, Kim says, “I honestly can’t do this anymore. I’m still in this place where I’ve been stuck for years. He goes and moves to a different state every year, and I have to be together so I can raise the kids. He’s an amazing dad, and he’s done an amazing job.”

Ahead of the flashback clip, Khloé asked Kim how things are with her and West and she responded, “There’s no fighting. Like, now, it’s like all calm. So I just… I just roll with it, you know?”

The series finale airs on June 10 and it looks like it may reveal more about Kim and West’s marriage: A TV Guide summary of the episode reads, “The family buries a time capsule to commemorate their years on Keeping Up. Kim updates the family on her future, Khloé must decide whether to move to Boston to be with Tristan, and Kourtney finally gives Scott some clarity about their romantic future.”

21 Savage Spits Menacing Bars On “BETRAYED”

Amidst the spell of solid releases that arrived last night, the GULLY soundtrack emerged with new music from ScHoolboy Q, 21 Savage, Don Toliver, and more. Naturally, you’ve come here for 21’s contribution, made all the more enticing by the involvement of Metro Boomin. Tackling a theme with which he’s certainly familiar — which is to say, being “BETRAYED” — 21 continues his hot streak with another strong addition to the catalog.

“Big dawg status, my play money, whole M stacks in the PayPal,” he spits, his flow far more dexterous than the early days of Savage Mode. “Caught a opp’ hangin’ at a barbecue and fucked around and shot the whole playground / Eastside ni**a bout gunplay, say the wrong thing we’ll chase y’all / Hit ’em broad-day with a AR, 12 still tryna get the case off.” No amount of mainstream success can contain his violent urges, and few artists can bring that calculated menace like 21. Check out “BETRAYED” now, and sound off in the comments below.

Kim Kardashian Breaks Down Over Kanye West Divorce

Kim Kardashian West opened up about her crumbling marriage to Kanye West on the latest episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians, telling her sisters that she feels like a “failure” after her third marriage didn’t turn out to be successful.

The second-to-last episode of the series aired on Thursday night and one of the most emotional moments occurred when Kim broke down over a dish of cookies in the family’s vacation home. Yelling at her sisters and saying that she was on a diet, Khloé realized that Kim’s anger was a projection.

“Kim has been struggling privately behind camera about her relationship, and it’s tough because Kim is clearly redirecting so much of her frustration, and sadness, and anger,” said Khloé during a confessional. “Sometimes you just take things out on something that has nothing to do with what you’re going through. It’s not the cookie’s fault.”

Khloé went on to ask Kim how things were going in her relationship, which took her on an emotional rollercoaster.

“There’s no fighting. Now it’s all calm, so I just roll with it,” answered Kim, revealing that she had an argument with Kanye before leaving on the family trip to Lake Tahoe. “I just honestly can’t do this anymore,” she said through tears. “Why am I still in this place where I’m stuck for years? He goes and moves to a different state every year. I have to be, like, together so I can raise the kids. I think he deserves someone that can go support his every move and go follow him all over the place and move to Wyoming. I can’t do that. He should have a wife that supports his every move and travels with him and does everything, and I can’t.”

Kim lamented on her relationship woes, saying that she feels like a “failure” over her third unsuccessful marriage. She was previously married to music producer Damon Thomas and NBA star Kris Humphries. “I feel like a fucking failure, that it’s a third fucking marriage,” she said. “Yeah, I feel like a fucking loser, but I can’t even think about that. I want to be happy.”

The final episode of the series will air next week.

TikTok User Shares Voice Message That She “Received” From Nicki Minaj

Contrary to the “bad guy” role that Nicki Minaj has adopted over the past few years, the Beam Me Up Scotty rapper has often been a person to show love to others, whether it’s a feature for a rising artist’s new album or simply promoting someone on Instagram. A day after Nicki helped get Polo G’s tracklist trending, it appears that she also took the time to show a Jamaican businesswoman named Starr Dawkins some love too.

Taking to TikTok, Dawkins — who owns a vaginal health company called Sweet Cookie Wash — shared a video of herself smiling and blushing while listening to a voice message from Nicki Minaj. “Nicki Minaj sent me the sweetest voice note!” Dawkins writes.

Throughout the video, you can hear Nicki saying nice and empowering things like “It don’t make sense why you so damn pretty. And you know them b*tches gon’ be mad cause you brought out the thing thing. You know the thing thing. Your smile, your style, your skin. And the wig is laid! It ain’t laid like when Tae do it child, but it’s laid!”

“Anyway, most importantly, your heart is beautiful and your authenticity,” Nicki continues. “You’res just a real bad gyal! “I need you to hold your head high and act like you the mother f*cking star in any room you stand in and go have a good day. And stay out of people business. Get your own LLCs! I love you. Seriously, I love you.”

The message would have been enough to make any Barb go crazy, but halfway through the video, Dawkins reveals that she’s been viewers all along. No, the voice message is not from Nicki Minaj; it’s actually a spot-on impression by the Jamaicain businesswoman and social media sensation.

“Tricked you,” Dawkins writes. “This my voice ! I always hear I sound like her & TBH if Nicki was hyping me I think he would say this …”

Check out the mind-blowing video for yourself below.

When listening to Starr Dawkins’ video, did you think it was really Nicki Minaj at first?

Lloyd Banks Hasn’t Lost A Step On “Sidewalks”

All seems right in the game again, as Lloyd Banks has returned with his first studio album in over ten years, The Course Of The InevitableAlready receiving early praise from his loyal fans, Banks proved he hasn’t lost a step in the slightest — in fact, he’s arguably more refined than ever, having soaked in the game from a birds-eye view and surged in with a whole playbook of new flows.

While there’s certainly much to unpack across the eighteen-track album, it feels appropriate to highlight “Sidewalks,” the song he originally previewed in the early COTI reveal trailers. Over a tense piano-driven boom-bap instrumental by CARTUNEBEATZ, Banks makes it clear he’s swinging for the jugular off the bat. “Keep molding what you’ve been aware of, left DNA all the places I been,” he spits. “My spot isn’t rented, your favorite rappers don’t race to top 10 / Dangerous the way my mind spinnin’, if opposition chop limbs / Not only did nig*as go clone me, my alter ego got twins.”

If you appreciate lyricists, you’d be wise to check out Lloyd Banks’ The Course Of The Inevitable in full. As he raps in the first verse’s climactic bars — “the G.O.A.T. conversation is overdue.” Is it time to start bringing Lloyd Banks’ name into the conversation?

Hip-hop is one of the only music genres where fans will consistently be blessed with collaborative work among artists. Rappers have historically bounced off of one another’s energy in the studio, often getting competitive with their peers. With Lil Durk and Lil Baby, two of the best in the game right now, we got to witness yet another iconic match-up as they went toe-to-toe for eighteen songs, inviting some of their famous friends, including Travis Scott, Young Thug, Meek Mill, and Rod Wave.

The Voice of the Heroes is officially out now, marking the biggest hip-hop release from last night. As fans have been digesting the new music, some songs, like “2040” and “Hats Off,” have been pegged as some of the early standouts.
