Dave Portnoy Claims Jake Paul Slashed Austin McBroom’s Tires

Austin McBroom is a massive YouTube star and Bryce Hall is on similar footing, although Hall is famous because of TikTok. On June 12th, these two men will be facing off in a boxing match that has been dubbed the “Battle of the Platforms.” Interestingly enough, McBroom has beef with Jake Paul, who has made allegations that Austin cheats on his significant other every single weekend. As a result, these two hate each other quite a bit, and recently, they were supposed to hash things out on Dave Portnoy’s “BFFs” podcast.

As Portnoy told Logan Paul in a separate episode of the podcast, things got pretty heated between Jake and Austin, which led to a bit of a temper tantrum from the younger Paul brother. In fact, Portnoy claims Jake slashed two of the tires on McBroom’s Lamborghini, and he even slashed the tires on a separate vehicle.

Based on McBroom’s story, Paul eventually apologized for the outburst, however, it seems like the two have actually agreed to a fight. This would be a surprising development, especially when you consider how Paul is set to fight Tyron Woodley in August. Paul has moved past the need to fight YouTubers, and a fight against McBroom would definitely be a regression.

Regardless, Paul seems to consistently be embroiled in drama and considering it gets people to talk about him, we doubt he minds it.

Mac Miller’s Drug Dealers Finally Receive A Trial Date: Report

Mac Miller passed away back in 2018 after experiencing a fatal overdose. After it was revealed that he had accidentally ingested counterfeit oxycodone laced with fentanyl that led to his overdose, three accused drug dealers were indicted in October of 2019 on federal drug distribution charges.

“These defendants allegedly continued to sell narcotics after Mr. McCormick’s death with full knowledge of the risks their products posed to human life,” said U.S. Attorney Nick Hanna. Now, after two years of delays, Cameron James Pettit, 28, Stephen Andrew Walter, 46, and Ryan Michael Reavis, 36 will finally be heading to trial in the fall.

The three men were charged with providing the Pittsburgh rapper with cocaine, oxycodone, and Xanax back in 2019. Prosecutors say that, at the time, the pills that Pettit gave Miller were counterfeit and laced with fentanyl. They further allege that Walter supplied the pills to Pettit and used Reavis as his runner.

Just two days before his fatal overdose, Miller picked up multiple different substances supplied by Pettit. His high-profile passing led to an immediate investigation from the DEA, who eventually charged Pettit, Reavis, and Walter for running the drug ring that delivered the substances to his Los Angeles home.

“It has become increasingly common for us to see drug dealers peddling counterfeit pharmaceuticals made with fentanyl. As a consequence, fentanyl is now the No. 1 cause of overdose deaths in the United States,” Nick Hanna said in a statement regarding the indictment.

All three men have been held without bail in Los Angeles for over two years. A trial date is currently set for November 16, 2021.

Tinashe & Roy Woods Carry This Week’s “R&B Season” Playlist

Tinashe’s departure from the major labels has allowed her to deliver far more creatively fulfilling music in recent times. Though there are benefits to having the backing of the major label machine, Tinashe is doing just fine on her independent grind, especially since she can release music more frequently. This week, she returned with some sunny California vibes with her new single, “Pasadena” ft. Buddy. Needless to say, it was a necessary addition to this week’s R&B Season playlist.

It’s been over a year since OVO signee Roy Woods released his last EP, Dem Times but he’s continued to slide through with new music since then. While fans are hoping for a new full-length  release this year, he came through with a serious vibe with his new single, “Touch You.” His unique blends of R&B and dancehall, once again, proves only fitting for these times.

Rising R&B star Foushée had summer 2020 on smash with Sleepy Hallow’s “deep end” as well as her recent appearance on Lil Wayne’s post-Trump pardon single, “Ain’t Got Time.” Now, she’s returned with her new project which includes appearances from Lil Yachty and more. Steve Lacy assists on the highlight, “candy grapes” which we also included on this week’s playlist.

Other additions on this week’s R&B Season playlist include new music from Q, Lucky Daye, and more.

Allen Iverson’s Classic Step-Over On Tyronn Lue Turns 20

Back in 2001, the Los Angeles Lakers were unstoppable. With Shaq and Kobe Bryant on the same team, the Lakers eventually cruised to three-straight NBA championships. The second of those titles was against Allen Iverson and the Philadelphia 76ers. This 76ers team is highly-regarded as one of the weakest teams to ever make the Finals, however, they had Iverson carrying them on his back, which led to some incredible postseason moments.

In Game 1 of that series, Iverson infamously led his team to a win, before eventually losing the next four in a row. During this Game 1 win, Iverson came through with one of the most disrespectful gestures in NBA Finals history as he stepped over Tyronn Lue who had just fallen over while trying to contest one of Iverson’s shots.

Today is June 6th and it just so happens that this is the 20th anniversary of the play. For years, this has always been a large part of Iverson highlight reels and it’s truly surreal that this happened so long ago. Over the course of the last few years, Iverson has made it a point to say that he meant no disrespect to Lue and that he truly loves the Clippers head coach.

Regardless, this is one of the most iconic moments in NBA playoff history, and you’ve got to appreciate it on its birthday.

Julio Jones Receives Epic Tribute From The Falcons

Julio Jones requested a trade from the Atlanta Falcons just a few weeks ago and since that time, the team had been looking for trade suitors. On Sunday, the team was able to pull off the perfect trade for their needs as they sent Jones and a sixth round pick to the Tennessee Titans in exchange for a second and fourth round pick. It was a massive trade that will certainly shake up the rest of the NFL heading into next season.

While things didn’t end on phenomenal terms between the Falcons and Jones, the team was still classy enough to put together a tribute for the star player. In the video below, you can see some of Jones’ best moments with the Falcons, all while the team wrote “Because of you, 11 will always mean more.”

Now, the Falcons will have to be without the best wide receiver in the history of the franchise. This is certainly a sad reality for Falcons fans, who have seen their team regress year after year since going to the Super Bowl just four years ago.

As for the Titans, they now have one of the most potent offenses in the league, and it’s going to make for an interesting season.

Yo Gotti Responds To Colorist Accusations

While the debate about whether cancel culture is effective or not continues to ring loud, there are some offenses that remain taboo and will quickly get you on the Internet’s blacklist. Colorism happens to be one of the offenses people tend to never forget, no matter how many subsequent apologies are issued.

Queen Naija and DaniLeigh have both faced accusations of colorism. Since the accusations were brought forth, neither one of them have yet to be able to escape the legacy of being an alleged colorist. Yo Gotti is the latest to be hit with accusations of colorism after many internet users pointed out the lack of diversity in the visual for he and DaBaby’s new single.

After the visual for “Drop” premiered over the weekend, it sparked conversation on social media around colorism and how it negatively impacts the rap game. The ready-for-summer video features dozens of women twerking in bathing suits at a pool party. It includes additional scenes of dancers stretching, working out, and doing other aerobic activities.

Upon its release, many took to social media to point out the visible lack of diversity in the video. “I don’t see no dark-skinned girls,” wrote one person on Yo Gotti’s promotional post. Others relayed the same sentiments, with some taking a more neutral “as expected stance.”

“Idk why we get so up and arms about it, they been do this for awhile no matter the backlash. Imma put my energy into being mad over something,” another Twitter user explained. In response to the backlash, Gotti took to Instagram to clear up his intentions.

“Wat they talkn bout [The Shade Room] I luv [chocolate] too we don’t discriminate,” he wrote before adding the hashtag “#TellEmWatchDaWholeVideo.” He attached a clip of different Black women who appeared in the video, offering a different preview of the video than what was originally shared.

Check out the full video for “Drop” and let us know your thoughts on the debate.

Jay-Z & Big Daddy Kane Connect For A Legendary Photo Op

What is Jay-Z not doing these days? Despite being so mysterious in his movements, 2021 has already been a lucrative year for the Brooklyn-bred rap legend. He’s made power plays in cannabis, liquor, and tech while still keeping his pen sharp. He’s made a few appearances on wax this year for DJ Khaled and DMX’s albums which has prompted many to speculate that a new album is on the way.

Last night, the person who put Hov in the spotlight revealed that they had linked up recently. Big Daddy Kane took to Instagram to share a photo of himself and Jay-Z who was all smiles. “Brooklyn inda House,” he wrote along with several hush emojis and the hashtag #silenthustle. Now, one would wonder whether that meant that they locked into the studio but that doesn’t seem to be the case.

According to HipHopDx, Big Daddy Kane is currently producing a documentary titled, Paragraphs I Manifest and Hov was reportedly in the building to film an interview for said doc. Jay’s appearance is reportedly part of the final interviews for the documentary so hopefully, we’ll get to see the final products sometime in the future.

This isn’t the first time he linked up with another rap legend that he inspired. Back in February, Kane revealed that he and Eminem linked up in the studio. It seems possible that Em is also involved in Paragraphs I Manifest.

6ix9ine Escalates Lil Durk Feud With Classless OTF DThang Comments

Sad news was reported earlier today after it was revealed that Lil Durk’s brother, OTF DThang, was shot and killed outside of a Chicago nightclub on Saturday night. Chicago Media Takeout reported the original story and since that time, artists like Calboy have come out and sent their condolences to DThang’s family, including Durk. It is yet another sad and shocking loss for the artist who was hanging out with DThang, just days earlier.

Unfortunately, some people are already acting in a predatory manner, following the tragedy. 6ix9ine is one of those people, as he took to Akademiks’ comments section to taunt Lil Durk and his family. In the screenshots below, 6ix9ine wrote “@lildurk tell the truth about yo Gang man they really dyin,” with laughing emojis littered throughout. He also commented on a separate post saying “@lildurk stop the senseless violence.”

From there, he offered a sarcastic “RIP” on a Shade Room post which was made immediately following the news had broke regarding the tragedy. Needless to say, 6ix9ine has no problems with conducting himself as a classless individual.

6ix9ine has made these kinds of comments before, and while many fans have urged him to stop, he continues to do it. For instance, 6ix9ine was seen making various crass comments following the death of King Von back in November.

As for DThang, we offer our condolences to his family during this very difficult time.

Snoop Dogg Goes Viral For Sharing Look-A-Like Rapper Meme Of Himself & Others

Snoop Dogg is one of many members in hip hop who use their Instagram account to update fans on their lives in addition to sharing funny memes and videos. 50 Cent often takes to his IG account to share memes as well, usually electing to chime in on major moments in pop culture.

To Snoop’s 60 million followers on the platform, a new meme shared to his page is nothing out of the blue. One post, however, seemed to captivate everyone’s attention instantly. The rap legend went viral on the platform Saturday (June 5) after sharing a look-a-like rapper meme featuring himself and other big names in the game.

Amy Sussman/Getty Images

The post featured an off-brand version of 9 of hip hop’s most recognizable faces. Look-a-like versions of Snoop himself, Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Future, Drake, and others were included in the meme with alternative names to match. A look-a-like Snoop Dogg was named “Snoop Catt,” while look-a-like Future, Lil Wayne, and DaBaby were called Past, Big Wayne, and DaAdult respectively.

The post went on to amass over 2 million likes and 45,000 comments in less than 24 hours. Snoop added in a few laughing emojis in the caption, highlighting just how funny he found the creative meme.

It’s a different side of Snoop compared to his attitude when the Los Angeles Lakers lost to the Phoenix Suns.  “Never thought I’d say it but we sorry and the Clippers better than us. Frank Vogel can’t coach and why the fuck Montrez Harrel ain’t getting no run. Fuck this is heartbreaking. A.D. hurt more than Mary J. Blige records. We soft,” wrote the Long Beach native.

You know what they say, it is always best to poke fun of yourself first.

Megan Thee Stallion Announces Her Return As Tina Snow In A Cryptic Tweet

Back in April, Megan Thee Stallion announced a hiatus — which appeared to be more of a social media break than a retreat from the public eye — in a post to Twitter. A digital readout that was posted to her social media pages read, “Megan Thee Stallion is recharging! Due to the demands of the Hot Girl lifestyle has now entered a period of regeneration to prepare for what’s next.” It added, “In her absence; mgmt will manage all social posting on behalf of Thee Hot Girl Coach. [[Thee Hotties]] lead a brave //RESISTANCE in anticipation for the return of their Fearless Captain!”

Well, after two months, it seems like the Houston rapper is ready to make her return.

In another cryptic post to social media, Megan shared a video with the caption, “TINA SNOW IS BACK [snowflake emoij].” Tina Snow is one of the rapper’s alter egos, a persona that sparked the Houston native’s mainstream breakout back in 2018 with her Tina Snow EP that housed highlight records like “Big Ol Freak” and “Freak Nasty.” The video itself shows Megan in a healing chamber of sorts with a display screen that shows attributes which include “body,” “mental health,” “bars,” “knees,” and “Tina Show” all at a level of 100%.

It’s good to see that Megan is ready to make her return, but we’ll have to wait and see what the Houston native will deliver first to fans. You can check out the Tina Snow post above.

Megan Thee Stallion is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.
