Bronny James Jr. & FaZe Clan Make The Cover Of Sports Illustrated

Bronny James Jr. has a lot to live up to when it comes to the game of basketball. Of course, his father is none other than LeBron James which means people will always expect him to be the best at whatever he does. These expectations aren’t exactly fair as the kid is free to do whatever he wants with his life. Regardless, Bronny has already been making some big moves, and recently, he even signed with FaZe Clan in a move that has certainly brought him some new viewers on Twitch.

In fact, FaZe Clan is excelling so much these days that the group was featured in a recent edition of Sports Illustrated. The clan even made the cover, with members like Bronny, Rug, and Nickmercs making it onto the front page. This is a massive look for the Sierra Canyon star, and it’s clear that when it comes to his life outside of basketball, he is doing quite well for himself.

While many immediately think of Call of Duty when they hear the name FaZe Clan, the group has become much more than just a competitive gaming team. They are an entity filled with content creators who are making big waves on their respective platforms. Bronny is a huge name when it comes to young men on Twitch, and there’s no doubt that he brings a unique angle to FaZe.

As he continues his streaming journey, we can only imagine how big his audience will eventually be.

Pooh Shiesty’s Bond Revoked, Will Remain In Jail Until Trial

1017 breakout star Pooh Shiesty was recently arrested for a shooting incident at the King Of Diamonds strip club in Miami. The rapper was charged with aggravated battery on May 30th after allegedly shooting a security guard in the leg. In his hearing, which took place on Wednesday June 9th, his attorney Bradford Cohen described the incident as an “accidental discharge.”

It’s not the first time the rapper has been arrested for a shooting. In October of 2020, Shiesty was arrested for his alleged involvement in a double shooting, which police say occurred over a drug and shoe deal gone awry. He pleaded not guilty to charges of armed robbery, aggravated battery with a weapon, aggravated assault with a firearm, and petty theft and has been released on bond since March of this year.

Yesterday, Shiesty appeared in court to face the Judge presiding over his King Of Diamonds shooting case, who granted the rapper a $10,000 bond — though a caveat was also included. Given that Shiesty only recently faced a different Judge — Judge Venzer — in his previous shooting charge, he was to remain jailed until she assessed the current situation.

According to Miami Herald reporter David Ovalle, Venzer opted to revoke Shiesty’s previously issued bond, a decision that will keep him jailed until his trial date. Ovalle quotes Venzer as having stated “There is not a chance I am giving this kid a bond right now.” It appears as if his repeated — and alleged — involvement in shootings played a role in her decision.

We will keep you updated on Pooh Shiesty’s ongoing legal situation as further details surface.

Migos Drop “Culture III” Merch Collection

The Migos are coming. Culture III hits stores and streaming services tomorrow, and the Atlanta-based trio couldn’t leave fans without some new merch to celebrate the new record.

The Culture III album rollout has been in full swing since “Straightenin” dropped in early May, culminating in a week-of-release performance of “Avalanche” on Jimmy Fallon in which the trio donned dapper black suits and top hats and rapped over lush, live instrumentation. This new merch collection comes days after the 19-song tracklist for the album was shared, which includes exciting features from industry titans like Drake, Future, Cardi B, Justin Bieber, Polo G in addition to two posthumous verses from the late Pop Smoke and Juice WRLD, respectively.

The trio partnered with Gallery Dept., a Los Angeles-based clothing brand, to spruce up the collection beyond simple designs with the album cover slapped on top. Hoodies, tees and hats carry unique designs that are distinct from one another, giving fans a wide array of options to choose from. Some shirts have the Gallery Dept. branding on it while others pay homage to the rap group’s Atlanta roots. Some of the more ambitious items in the collection include a soccer-style club jersey, $1,200 flared denim jeans and $895 sweatpants.

Fans voiced complaints about the prices of some of the items in the collection on the group’s Instagram post promoting the merch, outlining the sheer ridiculousness of the jeans’ price tag which costs an entire stimulus check, if anyone’s still holding onto theirs. Yet, it’s clear that the trio are attempting to tap into the streetwear community with this merch collection, and its designs are more impressive than most.

Culture III arrives tomorrow, and it seems like a high-stakes moment for the rap trio, who have been relatively hum since 2018’s Culture II. We’ll soon see if their three-year break served them well in the recording studio and can boost them back to the top of the hip-hop mainstream.

What do you think of the Culture III merch collection? Are you excited for the album’s release? Comment below.

Safaree Demands To Be Present At Birth Of His Child With Erica Mena Amid Divorce

Infamous Love & Hip Hop couple, Safaree and Erica Mena, split after two years of marriage when Erica filed for divorce. Speculation suggested Erica’s decision was a result of Safaree being caught dancing with another woman on tape.

The couple shares one daughter, Safire, who is two. Despite Erica telling a fan on Instagram, “Absolutely never getting pregnant again, Lol it’s not easy doing it alone girl” after the birth of her daughter, she is now expecting a second child.

Due to the complicated and almost toxic nature of their relationship — including fake divorce stunts and public insults — Safaree feels he needs to take legal action to be able to witness the birth of his child, who is due in July.

TMZ obtained court documents where Safaree backed up his demands with claims that he needs to be there for the birth of his second child as he was for his first, noting that he wants to bond with his child in their first moments. Safaree wants the court to ensure his presence, in the case that Erica denies him.

Erica has already stated she plans to get primary custody, but Safaree is not having that. He rejected her claim and has stated he is willing to work to achieve joint custody of both of the children.

As far as the rest of the divorce, the couple will have to battle it out over who gets their recently purchased home, cars, and all other assets.

Chris Paul Has Surprising Pick For Suns Playoff MVP

After going down 2-1 to the Lakers in the first round of the NBA Playoffs, the Phoenix Suns have gone on a five-game winning streak that doesn’t seem to be on the verge of slowing down. They are now up 2-0 on the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the playoffs, and it seems likely that they will quickly dispatch their opponents and move on to the Western Conference Finals for the first time since the Steve Nash era.

This has been an incredible run for a franchise that hasn’t made the postseason in years. While much of the spotlight has been on Devin Booker and Chris Paul, there is no denying just how strong some of the other players have been. In fact, after last night’s win, Chris Paul gave Suns MVP status to Deandre Ayton, who has improved tremendously over the past year.

“He runs, he rebounds, he does everything. He’s literally been the MVP of our postseason so far,” Paul said. Ayton certainly has been on a roll as he is currently averaging a double-double in the postseason, all while coming through with clutch baskets and even some stops on defense.

This Suns team is looking very dangerous right now and if you’re the Clippers or the Jazz, you can’t help but be worried about what might await you in the next round.

Lil Wayne Is Highly Focused On “Shoot Me Down”

Thirteen years ago, Lil Wayne delivered Tha Carter III, an album that has come to be widely regarded as a classic. Though it’s not quite universally acclaimed as the definitive Carter project, with the first and second both holding loyal fanbases, there are many who would call it Wayne’s magnum opus. While that’s a discussion for another day, it feels appropriate to highlight one of the project’s many gems, given that it’s a milestone occasion and all.

Though there are many potential standouts to choose from, there’s something alluring about Weezy’s introspective slow-burner “Shoot Me Down.” A calm before the storm type of joint, Weezy’s methodical flow drives his punchlines home with clarity. “I spit Alcatraz bars, I know / and D-boys is the only Alphabet Boys,” he spits, over a smoldering guitar riff. “I know Got a .380 on my waist and Rambo back home.” While lacking the urgency of some of the album’s standout singles, “Shoot Me Down” feels unique in comparison, a rare moment of contemplation for the mile-a-minute Martian.

Show some love to Tha Carter III, which officially celebrates its thirteenth birthday today. What tracks are you keeping on rotation?

QUOTABLE LYRICS

I spit Alcatraz bars, I know
And D-boys is the only Alphabet Boys I know
Got a .380 on my waist and Rambo back home
No more bandana ’round my dome, bandana in my right pocket
Bitch, I’m grown, fuck what you on?
Now, watch me stand on the world as I sit in a throne
And if I jump, I’ma fly and look into the eagle’s eye

Charles Barkley Rips Into Nikola Jokic And The Nuggets

Nikola Jokic won the NBA MVP award this past week and rightfully so. He was one of the most dominant players in the league this season and he is the big reason why the Denver Nuggets were able to get the third seed in the Western Conference despite suffering from numerous injuries. Unfortunately, without Jamal Murray in the lineup, Jokic has been forced to carry his team and it hasn’t always been pretty. Case in point, the Nuggets are down 2-0 to the Phoenix Suns and last night, his team lost by 25.

While Jokic led the team in virtually every statistical category, he was still subjected to a ton of slander, particularly from Charles Barkley who felt like his effort was sub-par, especially coming from a recently-crowned MVP.

“This game reminded me of the Milwaukee Bucks game the other night where they were like ‘we just quit, this game is over, we’re not going to compete,’” Barkley said. “When you get a day off in between [games], after you get your butt kicked in Game 1, you get MVP the day before, and then you come out and don’t give any effort? That team tonight, they packed it in.”

Moving forward, the series will go back to Denver where the Nuggets will need to get a win before the series becomes completely out of reach. They can’t afford to go down 3-0 and if they want to crawl back into the series, Jokic will need to have an all-time great performance come Friday.

HER Reveals The Release Date For ‘Back Of My Mind’ With An Insightful Trailer

After being nominated for Golden Globes, winning Oscars and Grammys for her songs from soundtracks and protests, and working with some of the biggest names in music, HER is finally set to release her debut album, Back Of My Mind, on June 18. The singer revealed the release date with an insightful, black-and-white trailer she posted to social media. A voiceover reveals the creative process behind the album’s concept and title cards echo HER’s words as she explains herself.

“People always ask me, ‘What’s the message? Where does this come from? Is it personal experience?’” she says. “And it’s always the thoughts that sit in the back of my mind. It’s always things that I’ve been through, things that I go through, or what I feel, and all those thoughts that I’m afraid to say sometimes… Things that feel too honest or too vulnerable or too emotional or too aggressive… It’s all of those things that have been in the back of my mind for the past few years since my first project. It’s like a peek into my soul.”

It could be odd to think that the singer has so many projects out yet is only just releasing her debut album, but prior efforts H.E.R. and I Used to Know Her were both compilations of EP tracks she’d released as she slowly revealed her identity and shed the shadowy air of mystery she cultivated early in her career. Now, she’s performing alongside Chris Stapleton at the CMT Music Awards — a sure sign of her crossover appeal — and working with perennial pitchman DJ Khaled. Now, it seems she is finally ready to deliver the album that she’s spent a lifetime working toward.

Back Of Mind is due 6/18 via RCA.
