Willie McGinest Fired From NFL Network

Willie McGinest is out at the NFL Network. The former New England Patriots star has been fired from the network following an incident dating back four months. The former USC Trojan collected many accolades during his time in the NFL. McGinest spent 15 years in the league. Twelve of those years in New England and three in Cleveland. McGinest was one of the pillars of the early Patriots dynasty. Tom Brady has mentioned many times before how McGinest was integral to the team’s success. During his time McGinest won 3-Super Bowls, as well as earning two Pro Bowl selections. Even with all of his accolades, McGinest isn’t running from the situation. The former college football standout has spoken on the situation previously. It seems as if McGinest understands the magnitude of what transpired.

Willie McGinest Facing Possible Prison Time

Losing his job may not be the only issue McGinest is facing. The 51-year-old could be facing some prison time stemming from the incident. Michael Mccarthy of Front Office Sports is reporting that McGinest is facing two felony charges. Shortly after the December incident, McGinest stated his regret, “To my colleagues at the NFL Network and those I work closely with as an advisor to professional and community-based organizations, please know I am embarrassed and regret what occurred.”
