Waka Flocka Flame, known for his high-energy performances and catch tracks, has never shied away from speaking his mind. However, the rapper recently took to Twitter to clarify his political stance, voicing support for Republican nominee Donald Trump and calling for civility in political discourse.
In a series of tweets on July 31, Waka explained his choice with a thoughtful perspective. “Trump still my president. I don’t have to stand with a red hat or dance or stage for money in my pockets… didn’t push me this direction… this is my choice,” he wrote. He emphasized that his political stance is personal and should not lead to disrespect or animosity towards those with differing views. “I choose not to eat pork but does that make me hate pork lovers or disrespect their character… nor will I act like [it does],” he continued.
Waka’s tweets expressed a desire for rights, freedom, equality, accountability for bad policing, and women’s rights, among other issues. “I just want my rights. My freedom, equality, men/women to pay for bad policing, women to have rights and make choices for self, teachers to be paid more, and the list goes on,” he asserted. “But hey I’m just a lil o entertainer with a micro voice I know no1 is listening.”

This explanation stands in stark contrast to the more aggressive endorsements of Trump by other rappers like Lil Pump, who has questioned the racial background of Vice President Kamala Harris. Waka’s plea for understanding is a change, but it does contradict his behavior during a recent concert.
On July 2, during a show in Utah, Waka Flocka Flame singled out Joe Biden supporters, mocking them and urging them to leave. “All Joe Biden voters, get out of my concert,” he declared. “We going to see y’all at the bingo game. We’re gonna party right now for motherf*cking president T24!” The footage from this incident went semi-viral, drawing criticism from fans who felt alienated.
It’s also worth noting that Waka Flocka Flame was recognized by the Trump administration back in 2021. He received a lifetime achievement award for his philanthropic work with the Chicago organization Daughter of Destiny, highlighting his commitment to making a positive impact beyond music.
Thoughts?
