Tyga & YG Tease Collaborative Album At Rolling Loud

Tyga and YG confirmed that they intend to release a collaborative album together in the near future while performing at Rolling Loud on Friday night in California. On stage, the two rappers performed their 2019 collaboration, “Go Loko.” “You know what I’m saying?” Tyga says in a video from the performance. “We only came up with one song, but now we about to drop the new album coming soon.”

YG and Tyga dropped “Go Loko” back on May 3, 2019. The song debuted at number 71 on the US Billboard Hot 100 before peaking at number 49. It was featured on YG’s album 4Real 4Real. Tyga spoke about the inspiration for his contribution to the track while speaking with The Recording Academy. He explained: “Growing up in L.A., it’s a really big culture here. Even YG could tell you, he grew up around all Mexicans, so we really wanted to do something to give back to the culture.”

Tyga and YG previously worked together on the latter’s song, “Run,” which was released in 2022, independent of YG’s album from the same year, I Got Issues. Speaking with Billboard at the time, YG explained: “Me and Tyga were in the studio just trying to plot like, ‘What should we do for the video?’ There’s only so much you can do with that type of song. We ain’t wanna do like a flashy rap video, driving around in the cars. I got plenty of them.” The two have also worked together on “Bitches Ain’t Shit” from 2011.

There is still one more day left to catch more top artists perform at Rolling Loud. Future, Polo G, and Sheck Wes will all headline on Sunday. Other acts include Lil Uzi Vert, Trippie Redd, Lil Yachty, Ice Spice, Coi Leray, and more. The sets can be live-streamed online throughout the night here. Earlier in the weekend, Travis Scott, Playboi Carti, and more took over the festival.
