Summer Walker To Perform Tracks From Clear 2: Soft Life

June 1 attendees can expect to hear Walker perform tracks from her new EP, Clear 2: Soft Life. She announced the EP’s tracklist earlier this month, revealing collaborations with Solange, Childish Gambino, Steve Lacy, and more. Walker released Clear 2: Soft Life on Friday, and she was quickly met with praise from her peers, including Rubi Rose, Latto, Sukihana, and more. Sukuhana wrote on Twitter, “So proud of my sister Summer that listening to her tape has me in tears.” She went on to say, “All my fans stream Summer walkers new project all day and night.”

Fans also drew comparisons between Walker and Erykah Badu on social media upon the EP’s arrival. “Summer Walker really Erykah Badu Goddaughter. Love this sound sm,” one user wrote. “[This] is what I didn’t know I needed,” another added. Other users weren’t fans of the Badu-inspired EP. One said, “Summer Walker on Erykah Badu beats with these dumb ass lyrics is pissing me off.” With another stating, “I got mixed feelings about this Summer EP. I do appreciate the Erykah Badu inspo and shit… But we need Summer Walker, not Summer Badu.” A fan Tweeted in the artist’s defense, “summer walker just gave us a good erykah badu type— cleaning the house on a beautiful sunday, while burning a nice finely scented incense type of EP, and y’all are complaining?? the music is a vibe… it just might not be for some of y’all.”
