Aaron Rodgers going down in the opening quarter of their season is now at all what the New York Jets expected. On his fourth snap of his first series as a Jet, Rodgers was sacked. It is believed that he has suffered an Achilles injury.
Rodgers will get an MRI on Tuesday, which head coach Robert Saleh believes will confirm the team’s fears. “The MRI is probably going to confirm what we think is going to happen, so prayers tonight,” Saleh said.
“But it’s not good.”
After the injury happened, Rodgers returned to his feet and appeared to try to take a step before sitting back on the turf. According to ESPN, Rodgers injured the same leg in OTAs this spring.
Former No. 1 quarterback Zach Wilson replaced Rodgers, threw a touchdown, and led the Jets to a 22-16 win. We will learn more about Rodgers’s injury today.
