Shannon Sharpe Demands Patriots Help Mac Jones

Shannon Sharpe has very strong words for the New England Patriots. Rumors recently began circulating that the team is shopping starting QB Mac Jones. The report is huge news for the entire league. The Patriots have yet to find a replacement for Tom Brady. But it will be hard for any team to fill the shoes of such a talented player. However, Sharpe doesn’t believe talent is the issue with Jones. In fact, the co-host of Undisputed mentions that a coaching failure could be to blame.

Sharpe’s comments on bad coaching are not off-based. The Patriots threw together an offensive staff last season. Including a defensive-minded coach in Matt Patricia calling the plays. The Hall-of-Fame tight end believes Jones should welcome a change. If the Patriots are unwilling to give him the tools to succeed, greener pastures could be necessary. The Patriots had an abysmal 2022 that included a down year for Jones.

Shannon Sharpe Lays Blame At New England Coaching

The coaching decisions by Bill Belichick could absolutely be the reason for the team’s 2022 failure. In 2021, with a competent offensive staff, the Patriots went 10-7, earning a playoff spot. Jones became a bright spot for a team desperate to see great QB play again. Now with the recent reports, the Patriots may be looking to start over at the position. The decision will ultimately come down to Belichick, who is the start and stopping point with the franchise.

Shannon Sharpe has been a part of successful franchises. The former star has the hardware to prove it. However, does Mac Jones feel the same way? On his draft night, Jones felt slighted when he fell to the Patriots. So the former Alabama QB has been out to prove the critics wrong since day one. But, with reports of the team having low confidence in the QB, would he even want to play in New England? The Patriots have been the vocal point of the NFL for nearly 30 years. Now it seems as if the team has lost a step in its quest for dominance. For the latest NFL news, stay locked in here at HNHH.
