Quavo Unveils “Honey Bun” Cover Art, Tribute To Takeoff Dropping This Friday

With the tragic death of Takeoff last November came what seems to be the end of the Migos. While we’ll likely never hear the Atlanta trio on a track together again, both Offset and Quavo have been putting in work on their own projects, doing their part to keep their fallen comrade’s name alive. As of late, the 31-year-old has been hinting at another single on the way, and on Tuesday (March 28), he unveiled the track’s cover art.

In a photo uploaded to @qualitycontrolmusic’s Instagram page, a lineup of SUVs spells out the letter “H” in a parking lot. We know that the tribute to Quavo’s nephew is titled “Honey Bun,” and that it drops this coming Friday (March 31), but other details remain sparse at this time. The lyricist’s feed suggests that fans may see an accompanying music video along with the single’s premiere, though we have no confirmation at this time.

Quavo Prepares to Drop a Takeoff Tribute

That teaser arrived in the form of a black and white photo that sees Quavo staying warm in a fur jacket while smoking a blunt in the chilly outdoors. In the caption of that post, he confirmed that “Honey Bun” is “#ForTake,” who was shot to death in Houston last November following an altercation during a night out. Of course, this won’t be the “Slippery” hitmaker’s only recent arrival. Just a few weeks ago, he shared, “Greatness,” which provided answers to several of his listener’s most burning questions.

“Never forget that the Migos amazin’ / Look at the ice and the knots in my pants, you know that them young n*ggas made it,” he reflects on the early days of his career, spent working with Offset and Takeoff. “Came in, swept the game like a storm with the muthaf*cking flow, n*gga, Take did that / So don’t ask about the group, he gone, we gone, young n*gga it can’t come back, damn,” Quavo later adds, making it abundantly clear that the group is done for good. Revisit “Greatness” below, and let us know if you’re excited to hear “Honey Bun” this Friday in the comments.
