Over 20 years have passed since Pink and Christina Aguilera released their pop-hit “Lady Marmalade,” but the beef continues to stew. In a recent interview on Who’s Talking to Chris Wallace, the 43-year-old dished out on drama that ensued on the set of the music video shoot. “Lady Marmalade,” which was a part of the Moulin Rouge! soundtrack, also featured Lil’ Kim and Mya. The 2001 track allegedly deepened a feud between the two popstars, which continues to unravel today.
In the interview, Wallace opened up the dialogue regarding Pink’s relationship with Xtina. Pink described the ongoing problems to be a conflict between two different personalities. “I think the shade,” she explains, “where people get it twisted with me is that if you ask me a question, I’m gonna answer it honestly. I’m going to tell you my experience of how it happened. And to me that’s not shade that’s just honesty.” The “Try” singer continued to say, “now, I should know better by now that total honesty doesn’t work in this world. People want to hear nice things, and they want you to clean it all up for them, but it’s just not my way.”
Pink Dishes Out On Christina Aguilera Feud
Pink continues to describe her experience of how the “Candyman” singer had wanted to fight on the set of “Lady Marmalade.” Allegedly, the whole ordeal commenced after Pink sat in Xtina’s chair, which provoked the star to want “to shut down the entire production.” “And I didn’t know I was sitting in her chair, Pink told Wallace, “and I’m also, I’ve been, I was homeless at 15 like, you can’t talk to me any kind of way. And so, I’ve you know, you picked the wrong one. But that’s over, it’s over.”
Although Christina’s attempt at a brawl hadn’t gone through, Pink continues to hold negative sentiments about the collaboration project. Just last week, she spoke with Buzzfeed about her disliking of the whole “Lady Marmalade” shoot. Specifically, she put the blame on “some personalities.” While Pink denies stirring the pot, she does remain certain of her version of the truth. “I’m not “shading” someone by telling it over and over and over what actually happened,” she tweeted in response to the matter.
