He may have recently received bad news on the legal front in regards to the looming case involving Megan Thee Stallion, but that hasn’t stopped Tory Lanez from giving back. The Canadian artist is no stranger to helping people in need, whether they be from marginalized communities or lower-income families, and the devastation happening in Texas has caused him to step up. Many artists—like Trae Tha Truth, Bun B, and Beyoncé—are using their resources to help people affected by the unprecedented snow storm that caused a massive power outage, freezing temperatures, pipe leaks that have destroyed homes, and several deaths, including that of an 11-year-old boy.
Lanez took to social media to announce that he is currently creating his own water brand and his first order of business is aiding those in need in America’s second-largest state. “Thankful to say I officially just CREATED MY OWN *ALKALINE WATER* BRAND ….. ‘Umbrella Water’,” said the rapper. “THE FIRST THING IM DOING IS GOING TO TEXAS AND DELIVERING A WHOLE BUNCH OF CASES TO THE PEOPLE IN NEED … sh*t y’all ain’t got water … I’ll make it .. and bring it.”
He didn’t share quickly that alkaline water brand would be developed and distributed, but we’re sure Lanez has been lending support in other ways for the time being.
This summer will mark three years since XXXTentacion was murdered in Florida and his fans still await justice in his case. The rising rapper was just stepping into his moment in the spotlight when he was gunned down in a reported robbery, and since that tragedy occurred, his admirers, as well as his friends in the industry, have remained dedicated to fulfilling in legacy. YBN Nahmir caught up with VladTVfor a lengthy interview, and during their conversation, the rapper touched on advice he received from the late star.
“They always expect it to be the end of it,” Nahmir said of critics believing every release is his last. “That’s what everybody gotta understand. They’re waiting for the end because they’re not there yet. It’s so many people in this world that want to judge you because they world is f*cked up and they’ll try to make your life horrible because their life horrible. But they trying to hide that sh*t so they’ll try to f*ck with you. I learned that a long time ago, especially when I was like, 18.”
“It’s a lot of people out here trying to f*ck you over, tryin’ to bullsh*t your mindset because they mindset f*cked up. You just can’t let it f*ck with you,” the rapper continued. Elsewhere in the clip, Nahmir spoke about his conversations with XXXTentacion and how he had trouble grappling with advice from the Florida rapper. “I talked to him so many times. He was warning me. It be so many people put in my life just to like, give me a little lesson.”
The YBN artist said that he’s aware that he’s going to make the wrong decisions occasionally, but he knows he has to think things out before making moves. “X used to tell me all the time, he was like—I seen him two days or something before he got in a fight with the Migos or some sh*t, I think it was after. I don’t remember. He got in a fight with the Migos and sh*t and he was just like, ‘Bro, chase the water. Go to the water don’t look back.'”
Initially, Nahmir thought XXXTentacion was just talking crazy, but he later understood the message. “He want me to focus on getting this money and stay out the way… He was saying some cold sh*t.” Check out the clip below and let us know if you understand what Tentacion meant with his message.
We’ve recently received Chloe x Halle’s Ungodly Hour (Chrome Edition), and as fans enjoy the extra tracks included on the deluxe version of their latest project, the ladies caught up with Rolling Stone for their “Women Shaping the Future” issue. The ladies spoke about how their mentor, Beyoncé, has given them lessons that help them navigate an industry that often pulls them in all directions and Chloe spoke about meeting the icon on a movie set.
“One of the great things I’ve been able to witness as a fan as well as in-person is her grace,” Chloe said. “She’s human, but the way she just blocks out the negativity and never really responds to the B.S. and just lets the art and her talent and work speak for itself — that is really inspiring to my sister and me as young women.”
“What we’re doing is not easy and you’re constantly putting yourself out there in your most vulnerable state and you’re open to constant criticism from the entire world,” she continued. “What I appreciate about her is how she chooses to rise above it, stand tall on it. And that’s why she’s Queen B and that’s how she is who she is.”
Chloe also explained that she first met Beyoncé while portraying a younger version of the star in the 2003 film The Fighting Temptations. “When I met her, she had the best spirit,” she said. “She was so nice to me and I just remember she always wanted to dance with me and hold me. So because of that, I really loved her. I started falling more in love with her music.”
“As women, ‘I’m a survivor,’ it was just so inspiring,” she added about the Destiny’ child megahit. “It made you want to be yourself and it made you feel confident and free in being a woman.”

Like many other retired sports stars, Shaquille O’Neal is the owner of multiple businesses. When he’s not on television giving his NBA takes as a sports commentator or traveling the world attending parties as a DJ, Shaq acts as the owner of multiple franchises and eateries. In 2016, the Los Angeles Lakers icon reportedly purchased a Krispy Kreme donut shop in Atlant—and not just any store, but one that has its place in history. It’s reported that in 1968 when thousands traveled to the ATL to mourn the death of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. following his assassination, Krispy Kreme handed out cases of food to attendees.
Weeks ago, reports surfaced that Shaq’s Krispy Kreme had gone up in flames, and following an investigation, it was concluded that an arsonist was the culprit. The blaze occurred on February 10 while two employees were inside and thankfully, they were able to flee to safety without injury. Surveillance footage shows the suspect lurking around the property and to help entice the public to help locate the person responsible, police have offered a $10K reward for information that would aid in identifying the person in the video.
“The fire that occurred at @krispykreme Doughnuts (295 Ponce de Leon) on February 10th, 2021 has been determined to be a result of ARSON,” officials said. “We are seeking the public’s help in identifying & locating the suspect in these pictures.”
