Fredo Bang is scorching hot right now. The “Top” remix ft. Lil Durk is steadily doing numbers and In The Name Of Gee (Still Hated) is still on rotation. This morning, the rapper paid a visit to the Breakfast Club where he spoke on his past, his come-up in Baton Rouge, and some of his musical influences. Kevin Gates, who he collaborated on “No Security” with, sits high on his list of musical influences, explaining that singing on records wasn’t necessarily that popular until the rapper came home.

“Gates the first artist to ever post my music before I ever met him,” he explained. “As far as musically, though. He a whole other monster. He made the whole Louisiana — before Gates came home from jail, you couldn’t sing on no song. You either gotta make a fight song, a killing song or a dancing song. The only way we ’bout to listen to you. But he came home with the whole singing to females and all that and everybody embraced it.”

You’d be right to say that Gates was an integral influence on the harmonies in Fredo Bang’s music but he also credits his background in the band where he was a section leader. “I was in the band for like 10 years. I had a scholarship,” he continued. “I played concert and marchin’. And I was section leader,” he added. The scholarship, unfortunately, didn’t work out for Bang because of issues going on at home.

She’s known for being instrumental in developing the careers of major artists including Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka, but Deb Antney deserves her flowers for her work with Nicki Minaj early on in the rapper’s career. The Growing Up Hip Hop Atlanta star worked with the rising rapper before she was a worldwide sensation, and Antney also had a firsthand look at Nicki’s romantic relationship with Safaree Samuels—except she now claims she had no idea that the pair were a couple. Instead, Deb told Drink Champs that she believed Safaree was the Queen emcee’s gay friend and hype man.

“Craziest sh*t is—I know I really shouldn’t say this, bless my heart—I never knew that her and Safaree was going together,” admitted Deb. “Yeah, I thought Safaree was…I thought Safaree was a gay guy that she hung out with and he was her helper.” Everyone began speaking over each other as some agreed with Antney. 

“Listen! We went when I was booking her out, she’s like Deb, ‘I need two rooms,'” Deb continued. “But the two rooms wasn’t for him ’cause she would get dressed in the other room. But Safaree was—I didn’t know that they were together. I never knew until he took my car from her and she called me to lock him up and then he called me and that’s when he broke down everything.”

“He broke down everything, that they was together for the year. I didn’t even know. She never—that’s one thing about her, she never gave any inkling that anything was going on with them,” said Antney. “I just thought he was…God forgive me. I thought he was just a gay guy that was helping her and he was her hype guy or something. I just never knew anything.”

People have been waiting for some brand new music from Drake for a while. The wait for Certified Lover Boy is real but he has assured fans that it will come sometime this year. Unfortunately, he never actually provided a window of time when we could expect it but thankfully, we got hit with a leak this weekend. “What’s Next” hit the web and though it wasn’t the best quality, it was a little something to hopefully hold fans over for the timebeing.

It appears that Drake isn’t too upset over the leak. The rapper passed a message along through Akademiks telling fans that they should hold tight and the leak was a “warm up ting.” Additionally, he told Ak that new music will be coming along shortly and some music videos are currently in the works. Even though members of the OVO team have stated that Drake is the only trusted source for CLB news, Ak assured that Drizzy was the source. In fact, he shared a glimpse into an upcoming music video that Drake was apparently shooting recently in the city of Toronto.

Drake has continued to use Akademiks as a means to relay information during this album cycle. With the recent revelation that new music would be coming in the coming months, Akademiks previously shared the news that CLB is slated to drop before April.

It was kind of a mindf*ck finding out that Coi Leray was actually Benzino’s daughter. Over the years, she’s grown a brand independently of her father’s infamy in the rap game to launch her own career. Her single, “No More Parties” became her first Billboard Hot 100 entry, debuting at #84. Unfortunately, her family business has found its way into the public eye, though it’s partially her own doing. On “No More Parties,” she addresses her feud with her pops, rapping, “My daddy let me down, but I promise you I won’t let up/I wanna say fuck that man, but that shit won’t make me better.”

Benzino recently addressed his daughter’s issues with him but he said it was all a lie. He shared a lengthy Instagram response in the comment section, claiming that Coi’s been living well her whole life. He also said that her mother has a lot to do with her resentment towards him. “Coi was raised in a mansion and had everything she ever asked for. My other 2 sons are grown and would never say these things,” he said.

“This mf has the nerve,” she responded following an IG Live and a spree of comments she left under a post. “It’s crazy ’cause we was just on the phone crying yesterday, sharing this moment. Like, really sharin’ the moment,” she said during her live stream before elaborating in the comment section. “For this man to come on here and do this is so lame and this is th reason he burned all his bridges today. Look here father… I’m on billboard charting right now and all you can do is this lame shit? Yea still proving on how much you lack as a father,” she wrote.

She later took to Twitter where she continued to claim Benzino is a poor parent who’s never been there for her. “Just like a month ago he called me. We spoke. Told him I needed him. I needed my father in this cold world. He said I should of been a boy,” she tweeted. “Reasons why I be thinking I need a n***a to love me now because YOUR BITCH ASS NEVER DID!!” She continued.

“And this why I NEVER WANTED ANYBODY TO KNOW !! I’M EMBARRASSED TO BE YOUR DAUGHTER,” she added. “I should of been a boy your right cause I would of knocked you the fuck out already.”

Ultimately, she offered an apology for “stepping out of character.”

New Yeezy models have been plentiful over the last few years as Kanye West achieves his goal of getting everyone in the world to own Yeezys. While the sneaker line used to be incredibly limited, it is now much easier to come up on pairs and this has everything to do with increased stock numbers and an abundance of new releases. In 2021, the Yeezy brand won’t be slowing down, and the next shoe to get a new colorway is the Adidas Yeezy Boost 380.

This new offering is being called “Covellite” and it follows a similar motif of some of the newer Yeezy models. Of course, we are talking about the fact that more and more Yeezys contain the color blue. This model actually has multiple shades of blue all the way throughout the Primeknit upper, all while the midsole contains a gum aesthetic. There is even some black on the cuff and laces, which helps add a little bit of contrast.
