The “Resident Evil” Live Action Reboot Gets Delayed Until November

Resident Evil is a cultural phenomenon that spawned several movies after a successful video game history. However, Sony has decided to reboot the series. The new live-action film, entitled Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, was set to hit theaters in September of this year, but now it has been pushed back to November 24th. The two-month pushback is no surprise, as we’ve seen many movies get delayed due to the pandemic.

Resident Evil’s initial release date was actually all clear, until Marvel pushed back their movie slate. Marvel’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings is now set to drop on the same weekend Resident Evil would have. Not wanting to go up against the MCU, Sony pushed their film back. The MCU will be dropping four films this year, Black Widow, Eternals, Shang-Chi, and Spider-Man: No Way Home. The crammed movie schedule will be the first time Marvel has dropped so many movies in such a short time span (July-December). As you can see, other studios are scrambling to work around it.

Resident Evil may hit differently after this pandemic. Although it was far from a zombie apocalypse, the 2020 Pandemic did cause a massive amount of deaths. Are you ready to dive into a zombie movie after the pandemic or nah?

Taylor Swift Calls On Keith Urban And Maren Morris To Appear On Her Album ‘Fearless (Taylor’s Version)’

In less than a week, Taylor Swift will release her first re-recorded album, Fearless (Taylor’s Version). The singer has been teasing this project since the end of 2020, when a previous contract with Big Machine, her old label, allowed her to re-record her first six albums. Why? In part because she currently does not own the rights to them. In addition to the new versions of the songs from her 2008 sophomore album, Fearless (Taylor’s Version) will also include seven previously-unheard songs. She shared the first such release — “You All Over Me” with Maren Morris — at the end of last month. As for the other six songs, they remained untitled until Saturday, when Swift debuted the full tracklist for the upcoming project.

The singer revealed a second guest appearance on the album: country singer Keith Urban. He appears on a track entitled “That’s When.” After sharing the news, Taylor spoke about the collaboration. “I’m really honored that @KeithUrban is a part of this project, duetting on That’s When and singing harmonies on We Were Happy,” she said. “I was his opening act during the Fearless album era and his music has inspired me endlessly.” She added, “I’m counting down the minutes til we can all jump into this brave world together, filled with equal parts nostalgia and brand newness.”

Fearless (Taylor’s Version) is out 4/9 via Republic Records. Pre-order it here.

NLE Choppa Wrecks His Hellcat While Filming First Day Out Freestyle: Watch

For a while, it seemed like NLE Choppa was doing a pretty good job at staying out of trouble. Aside from his usual social media antics, the teenager had effectively managed to stay out of legal trouble. This changed last Sunday (March 28) when the Memphis-bred rapper was reportedly arrested in Broward County, Florida, and charged with burglary, possession of drugs, and possession of a concealed firearm. His bond was reportedly worth $2,100 and he was released thereafter.

While filming the visual for a customary first day out freestyle, the rapper crashed his luxury Hellcat vehicle, sharing a video on social media of the aftermath of the accident.

In the footage, you can see the ruins of what was once his Hellcat that he seemingly crashed in the process of filming his “Beatbox” freestyle. “Only like it sloppy she gon beatbox if she sucking me/Told her bring a friend if she ever think about f*cking me/Touching who? Touching me? To God where yo ass gon’ be,” rhymes the 18-year-old on the track.

He flashes his bloodied hand, seemingly unphased, in the camera as a videographer continues to record him and his friends vibing to the track.

As for his recent arrest, among all the charges, his most serious one is for unarmed burglary. He’s also facing charges for carrying a concealed firearm, possession of fewer than thirty grams of cannabis, and possession of Xanax.

He’s been released from police custody since then and has maintained he was set up. We’ll keep you updated on the saga.

Saweetie Shows Off New Hair Following Breakup With Quavo

On Saturday, Saweetie showed out on her Instagram to give fans a taste of her brand new blonde hair. “new hair new number,” captioned the “Tap In” singer. The caption could certainly mean that she got a new phone number following her breakup with Migos member Quavo, but we can’t know that for sure. Saweetie stunned in a red fur coat and hoop earrings for the photos, holding up a middle finger for one of them.

Saweetie and Quavo made their official split last week after she accused Quavo of cheating on her, a claim that he vehemently denied. “I had love for you and disappointed you did all that,” Quavo wrote on Twitter. “You are not the woman I thought you were.  I wish you nothing but the best.”

The internet as a whole has been reacting to a video featuring Quavo and Saweetie for the last few days, one that showed them getting into a physical altercation in an elevator. While people like Akademiks called the behavior “toxic and abusive ASF,” others, like Adrien Broner, said that the altercation was the epitome of “black tough love,” saying he wants a relationship where the woman he’s with “might punch me while I’m sleep.” Intense.

What do you think? Was Saweetie purposefully trying to show out to make Quavo jealous, or is she just having a classic post-breakup makeover moment? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Bankroll Freddie Grabs 2 Chainz & Young Scooter For “Dope Talk”

Bankroll Freddie dropped off a new album this past week entitled Big BankThe project has gotten a lukewarm response from fans and critics, however, there are definitely some bangers on there. Case in point: “Dope Talk” featuring 2 Chainz and Young Scooter. This anthemic banger is sure to get your head nodding in satisfaction.

The instrumental is simple. It is made of a haunting piano note, repeated over trap percussions. It gives the beat an almost dirty feel, like some street-cut grimey hip-hop. Bankroll Freddie opens the track with a dope verse before 2 Chainz comes brings his comedic and lively energy to the second verse. Young Scooter comes to finish the track out, leaving fans wanting for more.

You might get beheaded

Since 1985, the Air Jordan 1 has been one of the most popular sneakers on the market and it is among the most iconic silhouettes to ever be worn by Michael Jordan. Throughout the past few decades, the shoe has seen a ton of various colorways, and every single year, Jumpman looks for ways to innovate and bring forth some models that no one has seen before. 21 Savage & J. Cole’s “A Lot” Goes 5x Platinum After 2 Years

21 Savage and J. Cole nabbed a Grammy for their collaboration “a lot,” and the numbers keep pouring in for the classic single. The song was a shining moment for both rappers. For 21, it was a smash hit off his i am > i was album while, for Cole, it pushed his feature run to a point of legendary status. It was the first Grammy win for both artists as well.

“a lot” has now been certified 5x platinum, giving Cole yet another platinum plaque. For those who can recall, 21 Savage was arrested just after the music video for this single was dropped. His imprisonment came at the hands of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency (ICE), who revealed that 21 was actually from the UK. They claimed he overstayed his visa, but 21 was ultimately released. “I didn’t see my kids for almost two weeks,” 21 says of his time in detainment. “There are people in detention centers just sitting for months and even years not being able to see their families. Then some of those people just end up being sent off overnight to a place they ain’t never really lived and they don’t ever see their family after that.”

Check out the “a lot” video below and reminisce on a time before the pandemic.

Kodak Black Cuts Off His Locs, Fans Insinuate He & Clone Switched Places

Ever since being granted clemency by former POTUS Donald Trump, Kodak Black has stayed in the public’s peripheral view despite not releasing too much new music. The Pompano Beach native confirmed that since being pardoned he’s recorded 167 songs, so it’s only a matter of time before we begin to see a full rollout effort from Kodak. Until then, the 23-year-old will surely maintain his media presence with his internet persona. The “Thugged Out” artist recently cut off his signature dreads, prompting fans to finally lay to rest the clone fiasco.

The rapper shared a video of himself on his socials sitting in a parked luxury green car and declaring, “I Ain’t Slimy But I’m Grimy Tho.” He showed off his new cut in a second photoset featuring the luxury truck and an equally glowing outfit. He added in the caption, “Surgical Bill.”

Fans were surprised to see the platinum-selling recording artist without his signature locs. Some even went as far as to reignite the Kodak Clone speculation, suggesting that he and his clone had finally switched places again.

“Nah thats the real kodak. He finally got outta jail,” wrote one fan on Twitter. “This the real Kodak,” joked another oneOthers simply pointed out that they mistook the new footage for an old video since they had grown used to loc haired-Kodak.

What do you think of Kodak’s new do? Let us know down in the comments.

Snoop Dogg Sends Out Prayers For DMX Following Overdose

All of hip hop is currently thinking about and praying for DMX, who is described as being in a “vegetative state” following a drug overdose on Friday. The incident occurred around 11pm when DMX was rushed to the hospital following a heart attack which was caused by the overdose. As of right now, the hip hop legend has very little brain activity and doctors worry he may not make it. An outpouring of love has been sent DMX’s way, and many are praying for a speedy recovery for him, including fellow rap legend Snoop Dogg.

On Saturday afternoon, Snoop posted a photo of him and DMX hugging alongside the caption, “prayers for my dogg. @dmx.” Snoop Dogg and DMX have been friends for quite some time, but they seemingly became even closer following their Verzuz battle in late July.

Fans tuned in to see which of the rap legends would win the face-off, but many of them were more consumed by the incredible energy that surrounded the two rappers than who won. DMX confirmed last month that Snoop would be featured on his upcoming album, so it’s clear that the two collaborators were planning on creating some new projects together.

All of us are hoping that DMX pulls through, but we will keep you updated with any new information in this developing story.

Godzilla VS Kong Heading Towards $42 Million Opening Weekend

Godzilla VS Kong is the best-selling film at the box office since the pandemic destroyed the theater industry. This is impressive as well, because you can watch the film on HBO Max as well. This proves that millions of Americans would still rather get the big-screen movie experience than debut the movie at home.

According to Deadline, Godzilla VS Kong earned $27.9 million in three days after an $11.6 million Friday at 3,064 locations. These are only the domestic numbers. The 5-day projection (the film debuted Thursday evening) for the Warner Bros. movie is $42 million. Comscore Senior Media Analyst Paul Dergarabedian commented on the big debut, stating, “the industry is roaring back as Godzilla vs. Kong‘s incredible performance should silence the naysayers who predicted that due to the pandemic and the resultant appeal of at-home viewing, that the big screen experience would wind up as extinct as a prehistoric lizard.”

Bob Odenkirk action flick Nobody takes second place with $2.78 million, while horror film The Unholy will lock down the third spot with $1.2 million. Marvel’s Black Widow and Warner Bros. Space Jam will be true tests on how many fans will flock to theaters, with both films also being released on streaming services. However, we’re sure both films will kill it and prove that the theater industry is back to stay.
