Soulja Boy Says Famous Dex Troubles Are “Karma”: “A Whole Bunch Of Snake Sh*t”

This is a feud that has lasted years and Soulja Boy is speaking once again about Famous Dex, but this time he’s focusing on “karma.” Famous Dex and Soulja Boy have a longstanding relationship as Soulja has previously stated he’s the reason that Dex has a career. Back in 2019, the two were seen yelling at each other on Instagram Live during their infamous argument in front of a worldwide audience, and Soulja revisited his beef with the Chicago rapper.

Recently, Famous  Dex has caused concern as he has shared videos and photos of himself looking a tad out of it. Rich The Kid stepped in to send his friend to a rehab center, but after completing treatment, distressing images continue to circulate. There have also been allegations of domestic violence and the 27-year-old father has reportedly been hit with 19 charges. As Dex’s personal life and professional career seem to be on the line, Soulja reportedly spoke about Famous Dex’s circumstance in a current Live, and according to him, karma is coming for Dex.

“Karma, bruh. You know what I’m saying? You can’t do sh*t like that, bruh,” said Soulja Boy. “N*gga help you and help you get on. You can’t do sh*t like that, bruh. You know what I’m sayin’? If you come from the hood and a n*gga fly you to L.A. and you sleepin’ on they couch and a n*gga givin’ you free songs and a n*gga put you in they videos and you say that ‘I’mma sign to your label, I’mma be SOD Money Gang, I’mma be SOD.’ Then you turn around and go sign with another person behind that person back and just do a whole bunch of snake sh*t. You gon’ go out sad.”

“You can’t do sh*t like that,” the rapper continued. “You might get away temporarily for a couple months, a year or something you might be poppin’ or somethin’. But after that, it’s gon’ be over with. ‘Cause guess what? All the fans seen what you did, you see what I’m sayin’?” Watch his clip below.

“Steve Urkel” Actor Jaleel White Launches “Purple Urkle” Cannabis Line

The cannabis industry continues to expand with hopes that federal legalization, or at the very least decriminalization, is on the way. Biden hasn’t necessarily given the thumbs up but Chuck Schumer recently offered a promising update on a bill he plans to pass that could remove the plant from the controlled substance list and potentially expunge cannabis-related offenses.

As many entertainers, like Jay-Z and Seth Rogen, stepped into the industry, one person you might not have expected to follow suit is Jaleel White, known for his role as Steve Urkel on Family Matters. Per Forbes, the actor joined forces with 710 Labs to launch a new line called ItPurple including a variety of products of the strain Purple Urkle. The partnership only makes sense and White explained that he’s seeking to become a trailblazer for “fire purple weed.”

“The thing that always stood out to me was there no clear brand leader for fire purple weed,” Jaleel White told Forbes. “It made no sense to me, that no company of significance had claimed this lane, so why not me?”

The product will appropriately hit shelves on 4/20 available as live resin pods, eighths, and pre-rolled joints known as Noodle Doinks.

“Jaleel is a big fan of the Noodle Doinks and the Live Resin Pods,” 710 Labs founder Brad Melshenker said. “The Noodle Doinks will come in 3 pheno’s of Purple Urkle and of Stefan, and the Live Resin Pods will come in Mendo Purps x Zkittlez to start, which by the way, is probably my favorite pod flavor to date. It’s a straight candy flavor with a grape Big League Chew vibe on the exhale.”

“It’s like I had an out-of-body experience,” explained the rapper to Angela Yee, referring to the moment the incident began escalating. At that moment, he said began praying to God to make it home that evening.

After detailing his relationship with God, the rapper addressed rumors that he snatched King Von’s chain during the altercation. “All I know it, I look up and I see my partner on the ground, you feel me? Shot up,” he recalled, saying that he began yelling that his friend was shot. “A lot of people sayin’ I was trying to take bro chain. Like, ma’am, it’s like being in Afghanistan and two soldiers shootin’ it out with two other soldiers and a bag of money in the middle of the ground,” he continued to explain to Angela Yee. “Ma’am, you think people in the middle of a shootout are — you think, so many bullets flying, you think you’ll think about that bag of money?”

“A chain, ma’am? When it comes to jewelry, ma’am, only people with bad intentions who clout-chasin’ and stuff lookin’ to take a n***a chain,” he said, explaining that he’s wealthy enough to purchasing a $50K or $60K chain.

Alchemist, Earl Sweatshirt, & Boldy James Tease Mystery Project

The Alchemist is among the game’s most prolific artists, having recently stepped up to work on music with Action Bronson, Conway The Machine, Boldy James, Freddie Gibbs, Armand Hammer, and more. Now, the legendary producer has sparked hype for yet another endeavor, this one being his most enigmatic in a minute.

Taking to Instagram, Alchemist shared some mysterious artwork, a painting of what appears to be several ominous shadowy figures. In addition to the image, Al shared the date of Friday, April 30th, which suggests that we’re potentially looking at a full-scale album. In keeping with that theory, the image was also posted by a few notable Alchemist collaborators, namely Boldy James and Earl Sweatshirt.

In addition to Alchemist, Boldy, and Earl, the artwork was also shared by Pink Siifu, Maxo, and Navy Blue, which seems to indicate that a group project of sorts is on the way. Of course, that’s purely speculative, though it’s certainly appearing that we’ll be receiving some sharp and delightfully abstract lyricism over Alchemist production before May rolls around.

In other Alchemist news, consider that he and Boldy James were recently working together in the studio, with the former teasing that a new album would be “coming soon.” It should be noted that he may very well have been speaking about this mysterious project, though it wouldn’t be surprising to see him sitting on a sequel to the acclaimed Price Of Tea In China. Check out the artwork that has been shared by Alchemist, Earl Sweatshirt, Boldy James, Pink Siifu, Maxo, and Navy Blue, below. Whatever it is, it’s coming on April 30th.

Funkmaster Flex Reflects On His Role In Drake & Meek Mill Beef

Funkmaster Flex has made no secret of one simple fact — he’s got an opinion, and he’s not afraid to share it. And while he’s occasionally ruffled a few feathers, many have found Flex’s honesty to be refreshing. After all, this is the man who has arranged enough classic freestyles in his day to merit the benefit of the doubt.

The legendary radio host recently sat down for an interview on Rap Radar’s Cigar Talk show, and while he covered a variety of topics — including a scathing assessment of Cardi B’s rapping ability — one of the most interesting came from his reflection on Drake and Meek Mill’s infamous beef. By his own admission, he actually played a role in stoking the fires. Fans likely remember Flex playing a “10 Bands” reference track during his show, attempting to validate Meek Mill’s ghostwriting accusations at the onset of the feud.

Sensing an opportunity to insert himself in the history books, Flex looked to one of hip-hop’s classic battles — that of KRS-One, DJ Red Alert, MC Shan, who previously bumped heads over the birthplace of hip-hop. “I gotta be honest, I kind of bit that whole routine, or my involvement. I was copying, watching Red Alert and MC Shan and KRS-One,” admits Flex, around the thirty-six-minute mark. “And I watched people throw the flame on it and I said, ‘If I throw the flame on it, this can be one of those.’ … I ain’t gonna lie, I wanted to be in the history book like Red Alert and Shan and KRS-One.”

When asked if he attempted to arrange a premiere for Meek Mill’s response to “Charged Up” and “Back To Back,” Flex smiled, his eyes speaking volumes. “You know what, Meek was always in a cheerful phase about [it]—he wasn’t overly stressed,” explains Flex. “I wanna say I feel maybe me and Meek must have had a miscommunication on the song, or what it was gonna be.”

“I did reach out to him, and was like hey,” he chuckles, heavily implying that he intended on premiering Meek’s “Wanna Know.”  “I did do that! And he was like, ‘Of course, man.’ And then I might have said, ‘All right, Monday?’ I might’ve. And then I thought he agreed.” Alas, Flex did not end up premiering Meek’s record as arranged, and “Wanna Know” ended up dropping a few days later.

DMX’s Music Streams Increased By Nearly 1,000 Percent Since His Death

Whenever a beloved musician dies, fans have a tendency to cause that artist’s catalog sales to increase as they pay tribute and new fans catch on to artists they may not have paid much attention to before. DMX’s catalog was no exception — in fact, streams of his music increased by a huge amount according to Billboard, 928% since April 9, the date of DMX’s death.

Streams of DMX’s music increased to 75.7 million over the weekend following DMX’s death (audio and video combined) from 7.36 million, the two days before. The most streamed songs included “Ruff Ryders Anthem” (9.59 million; up 973%), “X Gon’ Give It To Ya” (5.79 million; up 900%), “Slippin’” (5.52 million; up 853%), “Party Up (In Here)” (5.20 million; up 941%) and “How It’s Goin’ Down” featuring Faith Evans (3.52 million; up 691%). Those streams had been going up for the week before DMX’s passing after he was hospitalized by a heart attack following a reported overdose that left him in a coma.

DMX’s autobiography also reached Amazon’s bestsellers list in nonfiction after he died, with the mayor of his hometown, Yonkers, New York planning to honor him with a memorial. Meanwhile, DMX’s label, Def Jam, received a backlash after releasing a pair of compilation albums when fans accused the label of exploiting his hospitalization.

Sauce Walka Enlists A$AP Rocky On “ASAP Sauce”

Sauce Walka has been unveiling project after project this past week. In a matter of days, the rapper shared four projects including God Of Texas. Though he kept the majority of features within his inner circle on all four projects, God Of Texas did include a highly anticipated collaboration with Harlem’s own, A$AP Rocky. Together, the pair deliver an eerie yet luxurious banger where they detail their fashion fetishes, as you could only expect from Rocky.

The collaboration should come as no surprise since Rocky’s appreciation for Houston culture has been well-documented. The pair were previously spotted shooting a music video which built anticipation for a collaboration. Even with the amount of influence that came from Houston, Sauce Walka offered praise during an interview last year for always giving credit where it’s due.
