Giannis Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in the entire NBA and as a result of his efforts, the Bucks superstar has won two-straight NBA MVP awards. As you can imagine, Giannis is heading right back to the NBA All-Star Game this season, and last night, he was drafted to Team LeBron. In fact, LeBron decided to make Giannis the first-overall pick in the entire draft, which is a pretty special place to be in.

Last night, Giannis was notified by the media about his predicament and as one could guess, he was very excited. “Do I get a hat? Do I have to wear a suit now?” Giannis joked.

After finding out that the starting five were him, LeBron, Steph Curry, Nikola Jokic, and Luka Doncic, Giannis was close to shock, as he couldn’t believe those five players would wind up amongst each other. Giannis went on to say that the game is over before it’s even started and that this starting five should theoretically run away with it.

Giannis shouldn’t get too ahead of himself as Team Durant is also loaded with a ton of great talent. The best players in the NBA will be present for this tilt, and it’s already gearing up to be a great All-Star Game.

Polo G understands the value of a sound investment. Not long after the young rapper purchased his first home at the age of twenty-one, already showing a shrewd grasp on the importance of ownership, Polo took to Twitter to flex another one of his clever money moves. Though many rappers indulge in luxurious jewelry purely for status, Polo appears to have a different approach, as indicated by a recent flex on Twitter.

“I bought a Plain Ap for my Bday worth about 90k @ the time I paid 85k for it…in a span of 2months that watch is worth 140k now,” writes Polo G, taking a page out of Jay-Z’s “Story Of O.J.” philosophy book. “Great investment.” Of course, one has to wonder if he’ll ever sell his prized possession, or simply let it accumulate value from the safety of his wrist. Either way, it’s a win for the Chicago rapper, who already seems destined for a big year in 2021.

On a more music-centric note, Polo G is already off to a promising start. If you are someone who collects sports trading cards, then you could very well be sitting on a gold mine right now. This is because the trading card business is booming and it’s been in a massive uptrend ever since the pandemic started. People have gone back to their hobbies and people with a lot of money to spend have been going out and purchasing these rare trading cards that have some sort of history attached to them.

One of those trading cards just sold for over $1 million recently. According to Darren Rovell, the card in question is a Tom Brady rookie card from the year 2000. It has an 8/10 condition and was bought for exactly $1.32 million. It’s an exorbitant price to pay and it just goes to show how overextended the market is right now.

Various other pieces of memorabilia have been selling for $1 million including cards from the likes of Michael Jordan and LeBron James. Everyone seemingly wants a piece of the trading card game and with NFTs exploding right now, the game could be changed forever.

Many have been treating these cards as long-term investments and for now, that seems like the best course of action. These are hard assets to keep in pristine condition but if you figure out how to do it, you will be rewarded handsomely later on down the line.

Though it’s been relatively quiet on the musical front for J.Cole and his Dreamville compatriots, though speculative talk of The Fall-Off certainly continues, that’s not to say the label’s presence isn’t being felt in different ways. Not long after Cole confirmed that the OG Dreamer x PUMA sneaker would be returning to stores, both Dreamville and PUMA have come through to announce the official “DREAMER” contest, sharing details on how to secure the extravagant grand prize.

“To help inspire Dreamers to keep pushing their goals, @pumahoops and @Dreamville are launching the DREAMER Contest,” reads the caption, as shared on the Dreamville Instagram page. “A contest created to rejuvenate and re-energize the mind, body and spirit of athletes and dreamers everywhere. One lucky winner and up to four guests will win: a flight to North Carolina on the PUMA Jet , a surprise DREAMER experience compliments of Dreamville, a VIP meet up with NBA superstar @melo and a private training session with NBA trainer @cbrickley603.”

Ruff Ryders legend Eve released her critically and commercially successful sophomore album Scorpion on March 6, 2001. Scorpion boasted singles like “Let Me Blow Ya Mind” and “Who’s That Girl?” and sold approximately 162,000 copies in its first week. The album eventually went platinum and secured Eve a Grammy for Best Rap/Sung Collaboration in 2002, and today, it still remains one of the fan-favorite albums from the former Ruff Ryders femcee.

In honor of the album’s 20-year anniversary, Eve has shared a deluxe version of Scorpion, complete with 12 bonus tracks, and talked with HipHopDX to discuss the album’s impact and share new insights on the album’s creation process. 

“It’s very weird. I’m like, ‘Who pushed the speed up button?'” she tells HipHopDX, reflecting on her beloved album’s 20-year milestone. “It’s amazing to look back on this because I have to say, I’m really seriously lucky that my songs are still being played in places and that people still want to hear the music and still get excited when they hear the music. So I don’t take that for granted. I really don’t.”

Deeper into the interview, Eve reveals that she had a very limited amount of time to create Scorpion. For her follow-up to 1999’s Let There Be Eve…Ruff Ryders’ First Lady, HipHopDX reports that she had a mere two months to get the album done. Throughout the mad dash, the “Love Is Blind” artist claims to have accidentally lit her hair on fire, leading to the iconic look seen on the album’s cover artwork as well as in her music video for “Let Me Blow Ya Mind.”

“That album was so fast to do,” she says, starting the story. “There were a lot of things that happened. For one, we recorded in Miami, so it was the first time I was able to take the budget and go somewhere, get a dope house and all the Ruff Ryders were there, going through the studio.”

“That was amazing. Seeing all the artists come in and out of that studio in Miami but I mean, I burnt my hair off trying to color my hair red for the f*cking photoshoot,” Eve shares, before admitting that the mad dash led to a cool new look. “But it wound up being a dope crop. That was a really nice short hairstyle.”

LeBron James is one of the most famous athletes in the entire world and as a direct result of his fame, he has been able to enjoy numerous massive brand deals with some of the biggest companies in the world. Since entering the NBA back in 2003, LeBron has been linked up with Nike and this has led to a plethora of signature shoes that sell out all over the world. 

Now, it would appear as though LeBron is getting his very own Nike Air Max 95 colorway. This information comes from the Instagram user @bighomiekicks80 who recently took to their account with some in-depth images of a mismatched purple and gold Air Max 95. The outsole of these shoes are filled with LeBron’s accomplishments, and they are a very clear ode to the Los Angeles Lakers.

Based on information coming from the Finish Line release calendar, this sneaker is going to be coming out very soon, on March 30th. As you can imagine, however, these are going to be very limited as many sneakerheads will be looking to get their hands on a pair.

Drake’s Certified Lover Boy album is easily one of the year’s most anticipated albums, a testament to the Canadian rapper’s unparalleled star power. And while it was initially supposed to have landed by now, following previous reports of a January release date, the project has since been delayed indefinitely. But fear not — following the release of his new Scary Hours EP, which features three songs and collaborations with Rick Ross and Lil Baby, Drizzy took to OVO sound radio to share a promising update.

“Certified Lover Boy is being cheffed,” explains the rapper, indicating that he remains locked in the studio until further notice. “I don’t have an exact date, but it’s in the pot. It’s coming soon.” Given that many took issue with Drizzy’s previous album, the double-disc and multi-styled Scorpion, it’s not entirely surprising to see him readjusting his release strategy. In fact, despite the undeniable excitement surrounding the project (made all the more powerful thanks to his recent batch of bangers), many are clearly content to let The Boy take his time on this one.

Though it’s unclear as to whether this cheffing stage means he’s still actively working on new material, or simply looking to season what’s already been complete, don’t be surprised if Scary Hours marks the official beginning of a rollout. Not that Drake really needs momentum before a release, but as of now, he certainly has it. Zach LaVine has been having himself an incredible season with the Chicago Bulls and everyone is taking notice. The star was just named to his very first All-Star Game and with his profile increasing, LaVine is amassing more and more fans. Unfortunately, with more fans comes more obsessive supporters, who think they know you better than they actually do. This can lead to some compromising situations, and sometimes, authorities need to get involved.

That is exactly what happened on Thursday night, according to TMZ, as LaVine was visited by a woman at his home. Based on the report, the woman traveled from a completely different state and showed up at the home unannounced. LaVine didn’t know her and when she wouldn’t go, he called the police.

As the story goes, the police came to the house and took the woman away, where they eventually brought her to the hospital for a mental health checkup. For now, it doesn’t seem like the woman will be facing any real consequences although this could change if LaVine decides to press charges.

So far, the NBA superstar has not given his take on the situation. The Bulls star has other things on his mind, as the NBA All-Star Game goes down in Atlanta on Sunday.
