Jay-Z Once Threatened To “Slap The Sh*t” Out Of DJ Kay Slay, Recalls Cam’ron

Jay-Z and his wife Beyoncé often choose to forgo doing many sit-down interviews, preferring to control exactly what they choose to reveal by preventing prying journalists from even having the option to ask uncomfortable questions. Cam’ron recently sat down with N.O.R.E. and DJ EFN on Revolt TV’s Drink Champs series and shared a bunch of stories involving the private rap legend including recalling an instance where Hov almost got into a physical altercation with DJ Kay Slay.

Sharing stories about his time at Roc-A-Fella Records during this specific portion of the interview, he mentioned his strained relationship with the label head and the physical fight that almost went down. “Basically, when I got to Roc-A-Fella, I tried to ingratiate myself with everybody,” he recalls. “Y’all got y’all own thing, I don’t wanna come in here and seem like I’m stepping on toes or whatever, so I’m cool with everybody. JAY is a competitor, so me coming there, this was Dame’s situation, this ain’t something that he did.”

He continued, “First thing that happened is I brought Kay Slay up there and I didn’t know he (JAY) was mad at Kay Slay ‘cause [he] must’ve played ‘Ether’ at the time and he was mad at Nas… So, Kay came up there, boom, JAY wasn’t there, but as I’m leaving, Jay is in the lobby of Baseline. So, I walk Kay to the elevator, and I guess Kay and JAY-Z said, ‘What’s up?’ or whatever.”

“So, I walk back in, he said, ‘Yo, you gotta be careful who you’re bringing around here, we might’ve just slapped the sh*t out of Kay Slay.’ And I’m like, ‘Wait, what’s going on?’ He’s like, ‘Yo, just saying, be careful who you bring up here.’ I’m like, ‘Aight, cool. This is y’all house, I ain’t got a problem with that,'” finished The Diplomats member.

Considering the New York-bred rapper’s Brooklyn upbringing and lyrical content, he likely wasn’t bluffing. Check out the full interview with Cam’ron below and let us know your thoughts on Jay-Z stepping like this.

Fousheé And Justin Bieber Carry This Week’s “R&B Season” Playlist

This week’s R&B season playlist has all the good vibes you need to get you through another long week, and some of our favorites come from Justin Bieber and Fousheé.

Bieber’s new album Justice has received a lot of attention since its release, some good and some bad. Some were angry at the pop star for using Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. samples, which he asserts was just to spread a positive message. Aside from the controversy, “Peaches,” which features Giveon and Daniel Caesar, made history after it became the #1 song alongside Justin’s #1 album, making Bieber the first male solo artist to do this.

Fousheé came through this week with “gold fronts,” which features rap legend Lil Wayne. The mellowed-out track is a huge feature for Fousheé despite not even having an album out yet, as the R&B singer gained popularity for her song “Deep End,” which went viral on TikTok.

Gallant also holds a spot on the playlist for his track “Comeback,” which comes off of his new project Neptune. Gallant has been a major figure in R&B for the last few years, but this new release really shows off the breadth of his abilities as an artist. Smooth vocals and a sensual beat shine through on “Comeback,” and the track is certainly not one to be missed.

Check out this week’s update to the R&B Season playlist below and be sure to subscribe to HNHH on Spotify.

6ix9ine Admits He’s Been Unhappy: “Fame & Money Mean Nothing To Me”

Tekashi 6ix9ine is indisputably one of the most controversial figures in hip-hop history. Ever since his high-profile federal RICO case that he walked away from with minimal jail time by cutting a deal with the feds, the derogatory “snitch” label has been attached to his image. He’s landed in many pubic feuds with other rappers since his release, continuing to shift public favor away from him. In a moment of vulnerability, the rapper opened up about struggling to find happiness lately.

Sharing footage of himself in the Dominican Republic on Saturday (April 3) with an associate handing out cash and posing with fans, he offered a bit of transparency to fans about where he’s been.  To all my fans I love you … I’m sorry I been away from music,” began the rapper in the caption of the post.

He went on to confess, “In all reality I’m not happy. The fame and the money doesn’t mean anything to me because it doesn’t bring me joy. I say all this because when your chasing your dreams in life remember God comes first.”

Never lose sight of that. He blesses you in life because he sees the good in your heart and with that blessing you learn to bless others. I will continue my journey to find happiness within myself and find the joy I once had,” finished the Brooklyn native.

Usually one to be incredibly active on social media, his last post on Instagram was in early March. He also has stayed out of getting into it with other artists online, which makes sense with the revelation.

His first and only single of the year “ZAZA” arrived in February and he’s yet to release a follow-up since. Do you think 6ix9ine could possibly be hinting at stepping out of the public eye for good? Let us know down in the comments.
