Megan Thee Stallion Shoots Her Shot At Yung Miami

It’s a Hot Girl Summer, indeed. Megan Thee Stallion may be boo’d up with rapper/songwriter Pardison Fontaine but she’s looking for some fun on the side, successfully shooting her shot at one half of the City Girls on Twitter.

Megan has been enjoying her current relationship with Pardi, showing off their love on social media. However, she’s had a question on her mind for a few months and she’s finally ready to get it out, asking Yung Miami of the City Girls on a date on Twitter. “I was too shy to tell her in person but @YungMiami305 I wanna date,” wrote Thee Stallion. Thankfully for her, Caresha seems to be interested, as well.

“I been wanted you too, so what’s up?” replied Yung Miami before exchanging hug emojis on the micro-blogging platform.

Given Yung Miami’s interest in starting up a new Hot Girl-on-City Girl fling this summer, many are worried about how Southside will react to this news. The hot-headed 808 Mafia producer has been very possessive over his baby mama Yung Miami, dissing Kodak Black this weekend over his recent song for Caresha. He’s also beefing with Lil Uzi Vert, calling out the Philadelphia rapper for allegedly almost getting robbed by Offset.

Do you think Southside will have a problem with Megan Thee Stallion trying to take his girl? What do you think he’ll say about this?

“Loki” Plot Details Unveiled In New Trailer

On June 11th, Marvel’s upcoming series Loki is set to premiere on Disney+. Transpiring after the events of Avengers: Endgame, during which Loki made off with the powerful Tesseract, the series finds Tom Hiddleston reprising his role as the beloved titular antihero. In addition to Hiddleston, Loki also stars Owen Wilson, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Sophia Di Martino, Wunmi Mosaku, and Richard E. Grant.

Though Disney originally unveiled the series during a major showcase event in December of 2020, a new trailer has been officially released, providing deeper insight into the general plotline. Upon being taken into custody by a powerful organization known as the Timekeepers, Loki is essentially tasked with the seemingly straightforward task of undoing the ramifications of his time-altering Endgame decision. Of course, being that Loki features both time travel and the literal God of Mischief, expect the inexplicable.

Providing many glimpses at upcoming set-pieces, including one in which Loki dual-wields knives in a heated fight sequence, much of the attention is spent on the dynamic between Loki and Owen Wilson’s character, Mobius M. Mobius. Naturally, a trust barrier exists between the two, though the faint traces of an unlikely alliance are certainly present. Expect the dynamic between the pair to be explored throughout Loki — a series that will likely bring laughter, thrills, and a general air of mystery when it hits Disney+ this summer.

YouTube Removes YG’s “Meet The Flockers” Over Anti-Asian Lyrics

It was widely reported that YouTube was considering removing video content on their platform that promotes hate against the Asian community. With a recent surge in crimes against Asian people, especially the elderly, the video giant cracked down on a number of videos that spewed hatred against the Asian community. According to the reports, a large number of YouTube employees were angling for YG’s song “Meet The Flockers” to be removed from the platform. In the song, the Compton-bred rapper discusses a robbery in a primarily Asian neighborhood.

While YouTube initially refused to remove the song from its database, the pressure has seemingly gotten too strong because, as many fans have noticed, the track and video have been wiped completely from the system. If you search for YG “Meet The Flockers” on YouTube, you won’t find the song anywhere. For now, you’ll find news coverage about a robbery that was allegedly inspired by the song, as well as re-uploaded versions of the low-quality audio, which will likely get removed soon. Live performances of the song are still on the site.

This weekend, an Asian woman was fatally stabbed in California while walking her dogs. COVID-related hate crimes have been on the rise against Asian-Americans during the pandemic and businesses, including YouTube, are trying to do all they can to remove content that could inspire hate.

DMX Recieves Love From Ruff Ryders Rappers

The entire hip-hop community has been following DMX’s hospitalization with bated breath, mobilizing behind the legendary rapper with thoughts, prayers, and memories. At this moment, his status remains unchanged. “He’s still in the same condition — in a vegetative state, with lung and brain failure and no brain activity,” explained his former manager Nakia Walker to BuzzFeed News. “We’re just praying and waiting. Praying and waiting.”

As X’s children make their way to the hospital, many of his former collaborators have taken to social media to voice their support. It seems as if the entire rap game stands united in their respect for DMX, an emcee who reached genuine superstar status in the late nineties and early millennium. During that particularly fruitful time, X was an active member of the Ruff Ryders collective, a movement founded by Joaquin “Waah” Dean, Darin “Dee” Dean, and Chivon Dean in 1997. As an integral piece of the Double R puzzle, X built up no shortage of strong alliances with his fellow labelmates, a roster that included artists like The LOX, Drag-On, Swizz Beatz, Eve, Jin, and more.

Over the weekend, many of those former Ruff Ryders members took to social media to offer their own messages to DMX, as many held close relationships with the multi-platinum rapper. “Prayers up …. dog n**** what .!!!!!! Been an emotional few days,” writes Styles P. “But I know deep down. GOD got you covered. You have repped for him even in your darkest times.. nothing less than an admirable GODLY trait…”

MC Jin, who signed to the Ruff Ryders in 2002, offered an emotional post on his Twitter page. “Watching this video of how excited X was meeting Rakim got me in my feels,” writes Jin, sharing a video of a starstruck DMX meeting Rakim. “My 8 year old asked “daddy, why are you crying?” I told him “this is one of daddy’s favorite rappers and he’s not doing well”.

Drag-On made it clear that he’s not necessarily about social media perceptions, handling most of his prayers behind-the-scenes. “Prayers over Pictures- ..,I’m praying to God,, NOT to the gram,,, so excuse me,” he captions. Still, he made sure to voice his support for X, with whom he collaborated on It’s Dark & Hell Is Hot, Flesh Of My Flesh Blood Of My Blood, And Then There Was X, and various Ruff Ryders volumes.

Swizz Beatz, easily one of DMX’s most prolific and loyal collaborators, opted to let a picture speak volumes. Prior to X’s hospitalization, Swizz had been helping him put together his ninth studio album — one that featured guest appearances from Lil Wayne, Griselda, Pop Smoke, and more.

The Ruff Ryders IG page shared an invite to a “Prayer for DMX” event in front of the White Plains Hospital in New York, set to take place at 5:00 PM. “Keep praying for X,” writes the label.

Sheek Louch took to Instagram to share an image of DMX sporting the iconic Ruff Ryders chain, along with a concise but impactful message: “Prayers up CHAMP.”

Ruff Ryders CEO Darrin “Dee” Dean implored fans to keep the prayers coming, confirming that he and his people actually visited the hospital to check in on X. “Had the family at the hospital today seeing @dmx at hospital all prayers are appreciated,” he captions.

Eve, who worked with DMX on numerous occasions, kept the rapper in her thoughts with a post on her official Twitter page.

The Ruff Ryders bond continues to hold strong, even after all these years. Case in point, in addition to his fellow Double R alumni, the official Ruff Ryders biker gang recently visited the hospital to show their support. Please keep DMX in your thoughts as we await further updates on his health.

Iggy Azalea Has Got It On New B-Side “Brazil”

Given her pop star status, Iggy Azalea is constantly flooded with comments begging her to perform in Brazil. When you make it, you start getting the Brazil-related requests from stans, and Iggy is making sure to show her South American fans some major love.

The 30-year-old Aussie rapper returned with a couple of new songs last week, including her new single “Sip It” with Tyga. As a b-side to the track, the hitmaker dropped the dance-ready song “Brazil”, in which she brags about her body, her bands, and her trips to Brazil. Already impressing all of her fans overseas, Iggy rhymes over the AJRuinedMyRecord and Jay Scalez-produced record, which is heavily rooted in EDM themes.

The track was a surprise release alongside “Sip It” on Friday.

Check it out below and let us know if you’re a fan.

Quotable Lyrics:

Paid for this body and none of it cheap
I heard your song now I’m goin’ to sleep
Boys in my yard but this ain’t from Kelis
Look at my cars you see nothin’ on lease
Look, I’m showin’ my cards how I play with a king
Heard they was sleepin’, I’m breakin’ the dream
Closin’ a deal while you makin’ a meme

Eminem Reacts To DMX News

DMX is one of the most legendary rappers of the 90s and 2000s. This weekend, the rapper’s family confirmed in a statement that the “Where The Hood At” artist, whose real name is Earl Simmons, was in a “vegetative state” following a drug overdose. Conflicting reports stated that he was taken off of life support and was breathing on his own, but those were later revealed to be false through a statement by DMX’s manager.

The news has shaken the hip-hop community to its core. As we continue to pray for DMX’s recovery, some of music’s all-time greats are reacting on social media by sending prayers. Eminem made sure to say a virtual prayer for Dark Man X, sending a message out on Twitter.

“Prayers out 2 @DMX & his family!! True legend!! Pullin 4 u please stay strong,” said Eminem on Saturday.

Eminem’s career has coincided with DMX’s on multiple occasions. While they were rumored to have beef at some times, they were generally amicable throughout their respective runs, respecting one another from afar. Eminem actually presented an award to DMX at the 1999 Source Awards in a moment that has been remembered this weekend on social media as fans continue to send love to DMX and his family.

We will continue to keep you updated on the latest involving DMX’s health and his current condition. Pray for him in the comments.

Sada Baby Wishes Death On Lil Nas X In Disturbing Homophobic Post

Detroit rapper Sada Baby is in the news this morning after posting and deleting a message on Instagram where he wishes death on Lil Nas X following the news that DMX was hospitalized over the weekend following a drug overdose.

Sada Baby was recently exposed following the success of his song “Whole Lotta Choppas” for many old tweets that were sent from his account. The posts were homophobic, making numerous insults against gay men and calling them “f***ots”. He also spoke about his hatred for dark-skinned people and how he wanted to rape a woman. Sada is back in the news for his recent similarly-worded post following the news that DMX was hospitalized and remains in a “vegetative state” following a drug overdose. In the post, which has since been deleted, Sada wishes death on Lil Nas X, who recently shook social media up with his queer anthem “MONTERO” in addition to the music video, in which he gives the devil a lapdance.

“Lord we said Nas X, not DMX,” wrote Sada Baby, wishing death on the gay rapper. It isn’t surprising to see Sada take this stance given his previous homophobic posts. While he apologized for his recent controversy, many saw through his words. “Y’all kan find every and any old tweet in the world from me. I don’t kare. I’m not logged into my Twitter and haven’t been for months,” he said at the time.

What do you think of Sada’s bigoted comments toward Lil Nas X?
