BeatKing Taps Ludacris For “Keep It Poppin”

Ludacris fans rejoice, as the legendary emcee has delivered not one, but two new verses this week. The first, a stacked collaboration with J.I.D. and Conway The Machine called “Scatterbrain,” which you can check out here. And now, he’s come through with another one, linking with BeatKing and Queendom Come for the bawdy banger “Keep It Poppin.”

No stranger to the lewd and crude — this is the mind behind “What’s Your Fantasy” and “Freaky Thangs,” after all — Luda wastes little time in setting a tone over BeatKing’s bouncy production. But not before the King himself makes his presence felt, opening things up with some sexually charged bars. “I hate skinny bitches, skinny hoes get no love,” he declares. “I see a group of skinny hoes I call em Bone Thugs.”

Luda tags in for the second verse, his rapid-fire flow catching slick pockets over the hard-hitting beat. “I’ma throw them bands with it,” he raps, kicking off with a stop-and-start delivery. “Been trying to see if I can palm my hands with it / couple of hundred dollar tips on her OnlyFans with it.” For those who can appreciate a little bit of x-rated music for the clubs, BeatKing and Ludacris have you covered with “Keep It Poppin.” Check it out for yourself now.

Dwyane Wade Reacts To Buying Ownership Stake In Utah Jazz

Dwyane Wade has been keeping busy throughout his retirement as he is currently an analyst on TNT who brings a fresh perspective to the commentary table. From a business point of view, Wade has been looking to expand his portfolio and it just so happens that NBA team ownership has been something that he has seriously looked at. In fact, Wade recently befriended Utah Jazz owner Ryan Smith, and now, the two are officially partners.

According to a new report from ESPN, Wade purchased an ownership stake in the Jazz, which will allow him to have a seat at the table as well as a piece of the pie. In the report, Wade spoke about the new venture and why this move means so much to him.

“This goes way beyond the dream I had to just play basketball in the NBA,” Wade said per ESPN. “I’ve seen Shaq do it in Sacramento. I’ve seen Grant Hill do it in Atlanta. I’ve seen Jordan do it in Charlotte. If this partnership is going to be anything like my relationship is with Ryan, there are going to be a lot of things that I’ll want to be involved in. Unfortunately, people in my community don’t get this opportunity, and I do not take it lightly to have this opportunity. To make real change, this is where you have to be — at the top — and Ryan knows that. I’m thankful for him, and I know too that I bring a lot to this partnership outside of just my basketball knowledge and skills.”

The Utah Jazz is a team that continues to improve and if they retain all of their key pieces, they could very well make a deep playoff run this season. Needless to say, Wade is making a solid choice right now.

iann dior & Trippie Redd Tend To Their Love Scars On “Shots In The Dark”

Since he and 24KGoldn surprisingly took command of the Billboard Hot 100 last year with their viral hit “Mood,” iann dior’s career has been reaching new heights. “shots in the dark” finds both iann dior and Trippie Redd in their feelings as they tend to love scars that were brought about by lovers who couldn’t fully commit to their relationships. iann dior holds his own against Trippie with an incredible heartfelt verse, but longtime fans of Trippie Redd will be thrilled to hear the Pegasus artist kick off his verse with an interpolation from his classic track “Love Scars.”

Quotable Lyrics

You’ll always be on the same sh*t, and I know
Bag full of wishes, but they seem to never work
It’s crazy how fast you went from sweet to so cold
And now it’s ’bout that time that I should really let it go

Snoop Dogg Joins The Cast Of Jamie Foxx’s Netflix Vampire Hunter Movie

There are so many elements about the headline above that make me so happy, but the details behind it (courtesy of The Hollywood Reporter) make me even happier. There is the fact that Netflix has a vampire hunter action thriller coming out called Day Shift, where the main character’s cover is that of a pool cleaner. There is the fact that the pool cleaner is played by Jamie Foxx in full “girl dad” mode. I was already all the way in, but then they went ahead and added Snoop Dogg to it. Give it to me now. Right now.

The film’s the directorial debut for J.J. Perry, a seasoned second-unit director on films like John Wick (yes), The Fate Of The Furious (yes), and Bloodshot (oh no), so we can be reasonably well-assured that the action scenes will be on-point — and really, isn’t that all you want from a Jamie Foxx vampire hunter/pool cleaner flick? The script, written by Tyler Tice, was discovered at a screenplay competition, so it can’t be all bad, and the cast, which includes Dave Franco, Eric Lange, Karla Souza, Meagan Good, and Zion Broadnax, among others, seems strong enough to support the admittedly kinda silly concept.

There are a lot of ways this could go wrong, but I’m choosing to remain positive because if nothing else, there is the possibility of watching Snoop Dogg react to a vampire attack to look forward to, and “Snoop Dogg reacting to things” is a genre with a wealth of fun moments — especially if the things turn out to be supernatural and unusual. Also, Jamie Foxx’s last Netflix action flick Project Power (in which he was again in full “girl dad” mode) was really enjoyable, as is his current ’90s-style sitcom on the platform, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me (do you see the theme developing?).

There’s nothing on when Day Shift will hit streaming, but turnaround on Netflix films is usually pretty quick so expect to see this one out at a theme appropriate time — say, Halloween.

JID Gives An Update On His Next Album With Studio Shots Of His Collaborators

If you were ever wondering how to make an album, Atlanta rising star JID recently shared his version of an instruction manual, posting a photo dump of behind-the-scenes glimpses of the recording sessions for his upcoming album, The Forever Story. “This is how u make an album,” he wrote in the slideshow’s caption. The slideshow itself captures plenty of in-studio shots and shenanigans with collaborators like fellow Spillage Village member 6lack, Compton rapper Buddy, Florida rebel Denzel Curry, DMV area genre-bender Rico Nasty, and St. Louis space poet Smino.

Meanwhile, in his efforts to tide fans over until the new album is completed, JID has been releasing freestyles like “Cludder Freestyle” and “JIDtranada Freestyle“; remixes like the Denzel Curry collaboration “Bruuuh,” the updated Spillage Village track “Baptized” with Deante’ Hitchcock, IDK, and Flatbush Zombies, and the explosive Conway The Machine track “Scatter Brain” with Ludacris; and his own standalone single, “Skegee,” which sheds light on a dark corner of American history.

The Forever Story, whose title references JID’s debut album The Never Story, will be the dynamic rapper’s first full-length solo release since 2018’s DiCaprio 2. In the meantime, however, he could be found giving standout performances on group efforts like 2019’s Dreamville compilation Revenge Of The Dreamers III and 2020’s Spillage Village excursion, Spilligion.
