$uicideBoy$ Drop Off “New Profile Pic”

The $uicideboy$ are back in town, coming through to deliver their brand new single “New Profile Pic.” In keeping with tradition, the duo’s latest features a vaguely sinister beat, a blend of eerie horror-flick piano and southern-inspired bounce. Off the top, Ruby Da Cherry sets it off with a detached singsong delivery. “Swinging on ’em, make their face lumped, take ’em to the lakefront,” he spits. “And roll ’bout eight blunts, now my face numb from the Grey bumps.”

$crim holds it down with the second verse, coming through with a rapid-fire flow. “Creepin’ round your motherfucking block with no plates, mane,” he raps, as the ghoulish soundscape floats beneath him. “Make your motherfucking front yard to a gun range / Blocka-blocka with the choppa, turn your name to a stain.” At this moment, $uicideboy$ are among the few keeping the southern horrorcore aesthetic alive, and “New Profile Pic” is a welcome addition to their deep and disturbing catalog. Check it out now, and show some love to Ruby and $crim in the comments below.

Busta Rhymes Reunites With Mariah Carey In Their Nostalgic ‘Where I Belong’ Video

Busta Rhymes and Mariah Carey have reunited in the new video for “Where I Belong,” which picks up where their 2002 video for “I Know What You Want” left off. You may remember how that video ended on a cliffhanger, with an SUV full of masked men rushing Busta’s mansion to the blaring sounds of his It Ain’t Safe No More… album cut “Call The Ambulance.”

“Where I Belong” taps into a similar aesthetic, even replaying the scene as Busta monologues, “The past chases you until it catches you.” The narrative picks up “18 years later” with a cameo from Trippie Redd, who calls up Busta and tells him that he’s found the missing Tae (LaShontae Heckard) and sets off another action-packed clip in which the veteran rapper picks up his old partner Michael Jai White for an assault on a pair of samurai in their pursuit of the missing paramour.

However, as the two would-be saviors learn, things aren’t always as they seem. As the video plays out, Busta and Mariah’s performance sequences cut in to remind viewers of the two stars’ indelible chemistry. The video, which was originally posted to Facebook Watch, has finally found its way to YouTube, prompting a fresh wave of interest.

“Where I Belong” is the latest single from Busta’s recently released Extinction Level Event 2: The Wrath of God, itself a nod to his radio-dominating heyday. Even more nostalgia ensues on prior videos “Outta My Mind” with Bell Biv Devoe, and the Mad magazine-referencing video for “Yuuuu” with Anderson .Paak.

Drakeo The Ruler And Kenny Beats Help ALLBLACK Become A Local Hero In His Hilarious ‘Ego’ Video

In a storyline that only ALLBLACK could cook up, the Bay Area rapper takes a job at a bakery and saves the day when things get real in his hilarious new video for “Ego.” Assisting him in the shenanigans are Drakeo The Ruler and Kenny Beats, who play supporting roles and provide a crunchy, post-hyphy beat, respectively.

The video opens with ALLBLACK and his partners shooting dice in the back of the bakery before getting narced by ALLBLACK’s “cousin,” the bakery manager. He tells them that Drakeo is coming in later, so they take over the store, tying him to a chair and blasting ALLBLACK’s new song on the radio.

Unfortunately, the next person who comes in is a masked robber, who tries to stick up the employees. When they discover he has no gun inside his threatening paper bag, ALLBLACK decks him and becomes a hero. Meanwhile, Drakeo is also being hailed as a hero elsewhere after rescuing a cat from a tree, receiving a key to the city at a press conference with a hating-ass superhero in attendance.

Kenny Beats makes a cameo in a separate scene, riding a shopping cart down one of the Bay’s notorious hills with ALLBLACK as they’re pursued by an exasperated police officer.

“Ego” is the first single from his upcoming debut album TY4FWM, which is due May 7 via his own Play Runners label and distributed by Empire. Features will include E-40 (of course), G-Eazy (naturally), Mozzy (!), Sada Baby (!!), and Vince Staples (!!!).

Ari Fletcher & Moneybagg Yo Unfollow Each Other On Instagram

Despite some bumps in the road, Ari Fletcher and Moneybagg Yo have supported each other through thick and thin. When Ari recently came under fire for allegedly paying for an inclusion in British Vogue, Moneybagg told her,@AriTheDon Dey don’t wanna see u do good or better than dem f*ck em let em kno u just getting started more pressure OTW!”

On Thursday night, however, it was noticed that the two have actually unfollowed each other. Yet, just a few hours prior, Ari had been previewing Moneybagg Yo’s new album, A Gangsta’s Pain, in her Instagram Story.

It’s unclear when this unfollowing happened, or for what exact reason, but there’s clearly been some kind of spat between the two. This past weekend, Ari threw a major blowout celebration for her and G Herbo’s 3-year-old son’s birthday. While she and G Herbo split back in 2018, they’ve been coparenting son Yosohn since then. Ari came under fire after she posted a photo of her drinking a Colt 45 during the birthday bash, which many called inappropriate at a children’s party.

“People mad I had liquor at my son party? I had a whole bar,” Ari wrote on Twitter. “We had fire shots, mixed drinks, ghetto drinks out of noodle cups… bitch you name it and I had it in that bitch. One thing about it… I’m gone have me a drink… fuck y’all!”

Whatever the reason might be for Ari Fletcher and Moneybagg Yo unfollowing each other, hopefully they can sort it out soon. Or, even better, maybe it’s just all promo for Moneybagg’s new music?

Dr. Dre Must Find New Lawyer In Divorce Case, Judge Rules

A judge has ruled this week that divorce attorney Laura Wasser and Dr. Dre’s lawyer Howard King cannot represent him in his split from wife Nicole Young. Laura Wasser is one of Los Angeles’ biggest divorce attorneys, and has represented major celebrity clients such as Kim Kardashian.

Dr. Dre and wife Nicole Young have been married for 24 years, but decided to split up back in March, 2020. Dre is reportedly worth about $800 million, which is why the court proceedings carrying out the divorce are so tricky. 2021 has been an incredibly stressful year for Dr. Dre following a January brain aneurysm that left him recovering in the ICU. He was released in January, with serious abuse allegations from his wife coming out soon after.

Nicole Young, alongside her attorney, argued that Wasser and King needed to be dismissed from the court case because they had previously represented both Dre and Young as a family lawyer throughout their marriage. The dismissal is a major win for Spector, who is another one of Hollywood’s most famous legal names. According to a statement filed in LA court this week, Dr. Dre “is instructed to obtain counsel as soon as possible.”

We will keep you posted as the legal proceedings continue to unravel in their divorce.

Saweetie & Drakeo The Ruler Do A Whole Lot Of Flexing On “Risky”

Saweetie has been through a lot over the past month although that hasn’t stopped her from dropping new music and coming through for her loyal fans. In fact, on Friday, Saweetie dropped a new 7-track project called Pretty Summer Playlist: Season 1 which is full of bangers that feature her signature braggadocios style. One of the standouts here is a track called “Risky” which features Drakeo The Ruler.

The song has brooding instrumental to it as the 808s are loud yet subtle. Meanwhile, Saweetie drops a plethora of bars in which she flexes about her wealth and her physical atributes. Drakeo The Ruler brings a similar braggadocios energy to the track and his delivery remains unique to the style he has helped build over the years.

You can stream the track, below.

Quotable Lyrics:

Saweetie, how it feel doing numbers?
I put rims on a hot pink Honda

Young Thug & Gunna Open Up About “Slime Language 2”

After a series of delays, Young Thug’s YSL Records officially dropped off their stacked Slime Language 2 compilation album, featuring guest appearances from Drake, Big Sean, Lil Uzi Vert, Lil Baby, Coi Leray, and many more. In honor of the big release, Young Thug and Gunna took a moment to chop it up with Zane Lowe on Apple Music 1.

When asked about the recording process, Young Thug likened the creation of Slime Language 2 to a live performance. “It seemed like a show,” he explained. “It seemed like a Lollapalooza, Coachella. It just seemed like a show. Every moment was performing. You got to show up. Everybody’s watching there. Everybody here. Everybody in your shit. Everybody in your face, you got to show up. It just felt like that. Every moment.”

Thugger also explained why the YSL roster remains so tight-knit, looking back on the days before they ever joined forces in the studio. “We kind of all been around each other before rap,” he reflects. “You know what I’m saying? Even with Gunna. When I first met Gunna, I wasn’t fully a rapper. I was a superstar, but I wasn’t a rapper. So I still was in the street. I still was getting in trouble. So I feel like I wasn’t a superstar at that moment. I didn’t feel like a superstar…We started from the ground up. We really built this all together.”

“Ain’t nobody gave me more loyalty than just him from day one,” explains Gunna, speaking on Young Thug. “He showed more loyalty than I knew…He a Leo. They big on loyalty. They want you to scratch their back. When you scratch mine, cause I scratch yours. Like it’s equal. I ain’t telling you to just do it. Cause I ain’t scratch your back. I scratch yours, too. So scratch mine. I don’t understand that he lived like that. And that’s like, loyalty.”

Clearly, developing strong bonds is an important part of the YSL formula, and it’s part of why their chemistry on wax is so noteworthy. Say what you will about the music itself, but it’s refreshing to see a label built on foundational pillars of friendship and respect.
