Chiefs TE Sean Culkin Explains Why He’s Turning Salary Into Bitcoin

Cryptocurrency has become massive over the past decade, especially in light of the meteoric rise of Bitcoin. As of writing this article, Bitcoin is hovering around $53,000 USD and just a couple of weeks ago, it reached an all-time high of $64,000. Needless to say, BTC is very volatile although if you hold it for a very long time, you will always come out with some massive profits.

Now, NFL tight end Sean Culkin is going all-in on Bitcoin as he announced that he will convert his entire salary into Bitcoin. His base salary is $920,000 and all of it will be put into Zap’s Strike which is a conversion app that turns Fiat into Satoshis. In a recent interview, Culkin explained why he’s doing this.

“I don’t want to have to feel pressured to be like, ‘I don’t know if I’m gonna buy this week,’” Culkin said via Yahoo! Sports. “For me, it makes sense to get paid in the hardest form of currency, and it’s something that is resistant to inflationary pressures that I think is very relevant in this current economic environment.”

Considering we are in the midst of a Bull Run, turning all of your Fiat currency into Bitcoin seems like a smart investment. However, when the three-year Bear Market rears its ugly head like it did in 2014 and 2018, it will be interesting to see if Culkin sticks to his guns and continues to invest his money this way.

Anthony Hopkins Reacts To Best Actor Win, Pays Tribute To Chadwick Boseman

History was made at the 93rd Academy Awards last night as Nomadland, Anthony Hopkins, and Frances McDormand won the three biggest awards of the night. As always, the categories for Best Picture, Best Actor in a Leading Role, and Best Actress in a Leading Role were saved for the final three announcements of the night. Many believed that, because the winner for Best Actor was being announced last, Chadwick Boseman would be awarded his first-ever Academy Award posthumously. However, that did not happen as Anthony Hopkins was given the prize for his emotional role in The Father.

Unfortunately, the results of this final announcement mean that the great Chadwick Boseman will likely never win an Academy Award, which has outraged the masses who remain confused as to why he did not win the award for his portrayal of a troubled jazz musician in Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. Boseman was the favorite to win the award, which eventually went to Hopkins. The 83-year-old actor, who was not present to accept the prize because of COVID-19 travel restrictions, has officially shared his acceptance speech, paying tribute to Boseman in a video statement.

“Good morning. Here I am in my homeland in Wales and at 83-years of age, I did not expect to get this award. I really didn’t. I’m very grateful to the Academy, thank you. I want to pay tribute to Chadwick Boseman, who was taken from us far too early, and again, thank you all very much. I really did not expect this so I feel very privileged and honored. Thank you.”

While the decision has proven to be controversial on social media, it’s a well-deserved win for Anthony Hopkins, who was amazing in The Father. However, it would have been an incredible moment, and equally deserved, for Chadwick Boseman to be given the award.

What do you think the outcome should have been?

Chris Weidman’s Wife Offers Update On His Condition After Breaking Leg

Chris Weidman suffered an extremely gruesome injury on Saturday night as he broke his leg while going to kick Uriah Hall. His leg completely snapped in half and it had the whole arena worried about his condition. Hall sent him some immediate well wishes and ever since the injury, Weidman has been in the hospital, where he had to undergo surgery.

Taking to Instagram, Weidman’s wife Marivi confirmed that the surgery was successful although this whole process has been the worst experience of their lives. It’s clear that Marivi was worried about her husband’s well-being although she did make sure to mention that the UFC has been very supportive ever since Saturday night.

“Well that was horrible,” Weidman said. “Freak things happen in life and plans get crushed. It’s been a lonnnggg day but so happy to finally see this man of mine post surgery. Everything went well thank you Lord! My heart breaks for my husband because I know the work and dedication that he puts into his training everyday and the great man that he is, so I only want the best for him. While this absolutely sucks in the moment and for some weeks to come, we are completely overwhelmed by the love and support we have far and wide and are very aware how blessed we are. All of that overpowers the awfulness of this situation.”

There is no telling whether or not Weidman will want to come back following the injury as it is quite traumatic. It could be a whole year before he is cleared to fight again, and by then, there is no telling what could happen.

Drake & J.I.D. Connect & Fans Want A Collab

Drake’s Certified Lover Boy is, for all intents and purposes, most likely in a state of near completion. Perhaps even completion. In any case, the anticipated project remains one of the year’s most anticipated drops — something that Drizzy has in common with a fellow lyricist in Dreamville’s J.I.D.

Currently working on his own album, tentatively titled The Forever Story, J.I.D’s upcoming release may feature a variety of names ranging from Benny The Butcher, Cordae, Smino, Denzel Curry, Buddy, and more. Of course, nothing has been confirmed thus far, but J.I.D has been relatively open about his creative process so far. As such, it stands to reason that he has yet to finalize anything, which actually bodes well given the recent meet-up that transpired over the weekend.

In a recent Instagram story, Drake revealed that he and J.I.D actually linked up, which immediately sparked demand for a collaboration. As one of the new generation’s sharpest lyricists, it’s likely that J.I.D’s presence would encourage Drizzy to spit some bars, and hearing the pair back and forth on wax would certainly be a welcome addition to either of their respective new albums.

Of course, it’s entirely possible that nothing in fact comes of this, and the link-up was simply that. Still, it’s clear that there is plenty of mutual respect to go around, and it’s nice to see J.I.D granted a co-sign from one of the game’s biggest superstars across the board. And he’s not the only one — in the same weekend, Drizzy stopped by the Coi Leray concert and watched the rising artist hold it down from backstage.

Check out a picture from and J.I.D and Drake’s link-up below.

Fragment x Travis Scott x Air Jordan 1 Low: In-Hand Photos

Travis Scott is one of the biggest artists in the world right now and with each new endorsement deal, his profile continues to grow. He has been working with Jumpman for quite some time now and when it comes to the Air Jordan 1, he has introduced the backwards swoosh to the shoe’s arsenal. This aesthetic has been placed on the AJ1 high and low, and now, both of these models will be getting their own Travis Scott x Fragment x Jumpman collab.

When Fragment worked on the Air Jordan 1 back in 2014, they provided fans with a white, black, and blue colorway that became an instant classic. With the new Travis Scott x Fragment collab, that aesthetic is back except for this time around, we have the backward swoosh. While many have seen the High OG version of this shoe, few have seen the Low, until now. Thanks to @zsneakerheadz, we have some official photos of the model and as you can clearly see, this sneaker has the same Fragment color scheme we would expect, all while Cactus Jack branding is placed throughout.

There is still no word on when this shoe is supposed to drop although signs are indicating a Fall-Holiday season release. Let us know what you think of this collab, in the comments below.

50 Cent Tried To Stop Snoop Dogg From Smoking Weed On “BMF” Set

You can’t teach an old dog new tricks… After it was revealed that Snoop Dogg had joined the cast of the highly-anticipated upcoming show BMF, based on Demetrius “Big Meech” Flenory’s Black Mafia Family drug-trafficking operation, 50 Cent was excited to welcome the legendary rapper onto the set to start shooting. However, he had a few reservations about having Snoop on set– most notably, the prominent smell of weed smoke coming from the man’s trailer.

According to a new post on 50’s ever-popular Instagram page, the rapper/television producer asked Snoop to stop lighting up, likely making the request out of respect for his castmates and the crew on the premises. However, he learned the hard way that there is no getting Snoop to stop smoking pot

“This is how @snoopdogg looked at me when i told him he can’t smoke weed on set,” wrote Fif as his caption, showing Snoop with a vintage afro, sideburns, slick shades, and gold chains, giving a straight-faced response to the former G-Unit leader. “He said the f*ck you talking about 50 it’s legal.”

As always, a number of celebrities could be found cracking up in 50’s comments section, including LeBron James, Jackie Long, Joseph Sikora, and more.

Snoop Dogg was previously cast as a spiritual advisor in the upcoming series. His addition to the cast was revealed alongside La La Anthony and others.

Do you think Snoop stopped after 50 asked?

The Harlem Cultural Festival Is Celebrated In A Teaser For Questlove’s ‘Summer Of Soul’ Documentary

Back towards the end of 2019, it was revealed that Questlove was working on what is now titled Summer Of Soul (…Or, When The Revolution Could Not Be Televised), a documentary about The Harlem Cultural Festival, a six-week festival that took place right around the same time as Woodstock. Now, the first teaser for the film, which is set to premiere in theaters and on Hulu on July 2, has been shared.

An official statement describes the film:

“In his acclaimed debut as a filmmaker, Ahmir ‘Questlove’ Thompson presents a powerful and transporting documentary — part music film, part historical record created around an epic event that celebrated Black history, culture, and fashion. Over the course of six weeks in the summer of 1969, just one hundred miles south of Woodstock, The Harlem Cultural Festival was filmed in Mount Morris Park (now Marcus Garvey Park). The footage was never seen and largely forgotten — until now. Summer Of Soul shines a light on the importance of history to our spiritual well-being and stands as a testament to the healing power of music during times of unrest, both past and present. The feature includes never-before-seen concert performances by Stevie Wonder, Nina Simone, Sly & the Family Stone, Gladys Knight & the Pips, Ray Baretto, Abbey Lincoln & Max Roach, and more.”

Back when the project was announced, Questlove said in a statement, “I am truly excited to help bring the passion, the story and the music of the Harlem Cultural Festival to audiences around the world. The performances are extraordinary. I was stunned when I saw the lost footage for the first time. It’s incredible to look at 50 years of history that’s never been told, and I’m eager and humbled to tell that story.”

He also told Variety in an interview earlier this year, “”Woodstock happens in two weeks after this and it defines a lifestyle, it defines a generation. Woodstock, the city name alone, just defines a whole movement. And I kept wondering what would have went down if this were allowed to happen for [Black people]. If this were allowed to unfurl and and spread across the world as Woodstock did, how much of a difference could that have made in my life as a music lover and as a music collector? So, then I just felt this the sense of purpose that I have to tell the story.”

Air Jordan 4 “Red Thunder” New Details Unveiled

This year has been pretty massive when it comes to sneakers. Every single brand has been working overtime to deliver some great new models to consumers and Jordan Brand has certainly been one of the imprints at the top of their game. They have numerous retros coming out this year and they also have some new colorways of old classic silhouettes. One of those aforementioned models is the Air Jordan 4, which is always a welcomed addition to any sneaker collection.

The “Red Thunder” model is one that has been teased a couple of times on HNHH and the concept is simple. It takes the old yellow “Thunder” model from back in the day and replaces the yellow with red. This creates a dope aesthetic that can be found below, thanks to a photoshop rendering from @zsneakerheadz. Now, it has been revealed that the tongue and the back heel of the shoe will have a Jumpman logo which means all of you “Nike Air” fans might be a little disappointed. Regardless, this is still a nice colorway as you can never go wrong with black and red.

For now, it is believed that these will be dropping on October 2nd of this year, so stay tuned to HNHH as we will bring you all of the latest updates.
