The Kid LAROI Covers Drake’s “Shot For Me” For Spotify Singles

Australian rapper The Kid LAROI has officially released two new covers for Spotify Singles. The first is a stripped-down version of his hit record “WITHOUT YOU” while the second is his rendition of one of his favorite Drake songs of all-time, “Shot For Me” from Take Care.

“I chose Drake because he’s my favorite artist. ‘Shot For Me’ is one of my favorite songs off of one of my favorite projects and that made it really easy for me to do,” said the 17-year-old rising star about his latest release with Spotify.

In addition to his Spotify Singles, The Kid LAROI also teamed up with the digital streaming giant to release a documentary as part of their RADAR program, which you can watch below.

Listen to The Kid LAROI’s cover of Drake’s “Shot For Me” below and let us know what you think in the comments.

Quotable Lyrics:

I can see it in your eyes, you’re angry
Regret got sh*t on what you’re feeling now
Mad cause he ain’t like me
Oh, you mad cause nobody ever did it like me
All the care I would take
All the love that we made
Now you’re trying to find somebody to replace what I gave to you

Joe Budden Addresses Rory & Mal’s “JBP” Departure Rumors

The Joe Budden Podcast is easily one of hip-hop media’s most influential platforms, a testament to Joe Budden’s growth as a businessman and media personality alike. Yet longtime fans of Budden have come to expect a few speedbumps along the way, and a recent narrative has sprung suggesting that longtime co-hosts Rory and Mal are on the verge of an unceremonious departure from the Podcast.

After their absence on a recent JBP, and a subsequently canceled episode that many speculated revolved around Rory and Mal’s situation, Budden returned with a new update during today’s new episode “Tea Leaves.” Joined by interim co-hosts Ice and Savon, Budden addressed the elephant in the room, insinuating that the return of his longtime collaborators was not a matter of if, but when.

“I’ll eliminate some of the suspense,” begins Joe, around this sixteen-minute mark. “This is Rory’s seat, and this is Mal’s seat. Whenever they feel like returning to their seats, then they’ll return to their seats. And then what will happen is the same thing when your star player comes back to the team.”

He also explains that he “loves when podcasts go through this type of turmoil,” elaborating that it “shapes character.” Still, he does admit that he was blindsided by the way things have unfolded, noting that he loves Rory and Mal like brothers. “Sometimes in friendship and business, everyone needs to take a step back and go to their respective corners,” he states. “Sometimes everyone’s perspective and perception on how to go about that and how it should be executed is different.”

As the conversation unfolds, Parks steps in to offer his own perspective, noting how friendship and business can be difficult to balance, often requiring lawyers and management to mediate. “I been doing business with Joe Budden for a very long time,” he continues. “I don’t come to you with business shit, because we have to keep doing shit…Other people should probably have somebody else to talk to you, or one of your professionals.” Later, he claims that Rory and Mal’s “beef’ does not stem from a financial place, prompting Budden to jump in. “It’s not a beef,” he clarifies. “Nobody has communicated a beef. What they have communicated to me is something is wrong. Whether that be in our friendship, how we’re speaking to each other, the respect level.”

Though there is certainly much to unpack on the topic throughout Tea Leaves, Joe Budden doesn’t exactly speak as directly on the situation as some might like. As such, it’s likely that fans of the Podcast will continue to read between the lines, monitoring Budden, Rory, and Mal’s respective social media pages for further insight. Be sure to check out Joe’s side of the story, cryptic at times though it may be, below.

Young Thug Says Free NBA Youngboy

Young Thug might be too cool to say his full name but we can all read between the lines. The Atlanta rapper wants to see Youngboy Never Broke Again back on the streets pronto, taking to social media to share a message with his millions of followers.

The rapper has been hard at work on finishing his upcoming label’s compilation album Slime Language 2, which seemingly keeps getting pushed back. Despite the current uncertainty regarding the album’s release date, Thugger is focusing his energy on somebody who needs it right now, advocating for the freedom of 21-year-old Baton Rouge rapper Youngboy Never Broke Again, who was arrested on Monday evening by LAPD and the feds

As information is finally being released about Youngboy’s arrest, which was reportedly connected to his arrest in September 2020 for guns, Young Thug is sending a message to the 4KT general, telling him to get home safely soon. “Free Young,” said the rapper on Instagram Stories. Considering Youngboy’s arrest this week, there’s not much of a question about which “Young” Jeffery is referring to. The two rappers have worked together on several occasions, including on 2018’s “Permanent Scar”.

Everybody around Youngboy Never Broke Again has been sharing their thoughts on the 21-year-old’s arrest, including his mother, who took aim at Wendy Williams over her comments about the situation. Read more about that situation here.

Quavo: “Sweet Little B*tch Now She Turnt Out”

Could Quavo’s petty Aries energy be coming out in his lyrics? It sure sounds like it in the latest preview to the Migos’ upcoming single release, which was previewed recently on social media.

Over the weekend, Quavo and his girlfriend, rapper Saweetie, broke up on Twitter after the Icy Grl suggested the Migos frontman had been cheating on her with multiple other women. She called him out for buying so many lavish gifts to cover up his wrongdoings, reminding her fans that not everything is as it seems on the surface. There were rumors flying around that Quavo had even sent somebody to repossess the blue Bentley that he bought Saweetie for Christmas, but it appears as though he wasn’t that petty. Still, he seems to be letting out his frustration in other ways, possibly dissing his ex in a new song.

The new track was previewed this week and Quavo raps, “Young n***a burnt out, burnt out/12 pulling up so we burned out/Sweet little b*tch now she turnt out.”

The line, while many are saying it could be a reach, could be referring to his ex-girlfriend. Given the obvious “sweet” reference, many of Quavo’s fans have been dragging Saweetie by saying she’s “for the streets”. This could be his way of backing them up as the ugly breakup continues.

Recently, Saweetie continued to promote her Tesla giveaway contest by sharing a video of her pulling up in a busted car, which some people joked she’s been driving after Quavo “repossessed” her Bentley. Read more about that here.

Bhad Bhabie Is Haunted By “Cash Me Outside” Memes: “I Hate It So Much”

Her “Cash Me Outside, How Bow Dah?” phrase became a phenomenon years ago after she appeared on Dr. Phil. Danielle Bregoli was a 13-year-old who was reportedly untamable as she ran the streets with her friends and fought with her mother. During the show, Bregoli, now known as Bhad Bhabie, told anyone that criticized her that they could “catch her outside,” or in other words, throw hands once they see her in the streets. Her catchphrase was quick to be adopted by social media and soon, Bregoli was the face of worldwide memes.

In honor of her quickly-approaching 18th birthday, the teen revisited her infamous moment. “My problem with the meme was always that people only got to see half the story,” said the rapper. “For years I didn’t even want to talk about it. People would say it and I would just be like, okay yeah, whatever.” She added that the meme’s popularity arose while she was at Turn-About Ranch, the rehabilitation facility she was sent to after her Dr. Phil appearance.

“I was gone in a program for six months in the middle of nowhere. I had no phone, no internet, no none of that. I didn’t see this ’til I got home. I turned on my phone and I seen my face everywhere.” She then explained what she meant by “cash me outside,” and after reliving the catchphrase, she had to laugh at herself. “I haven’t said that in a while.”

It’s obvious that Bregoli has matured and she now wants to be known for the person that she has become, not for the mistakes of her youth. The teen also spoke about how she’s struggled with ridding herself of the negative portrayal because the moment on Dr. Phil has caused people to have one narrow view of who she is.

“It just surrounds me with negativity. That meme made everybody think I was just this evil, hateful little girl,” she recalled. “No. That’s why I hate it so much.” Watch Bhad Bhabie’s video below.

Lil Mama Remixes Mooski’s “Track Star” & Shares Snippet Of Bossy Bars

Regardless of the recent controversy that has followed her, Lil Mama remains dedicated to her craft.  The rapper stepped onto the scene with her 2007 breakout hit “Lip Gloss,” and she’s continued to develop her career in and out of the music industry since that time. There have been several conversations about women in Rap, especially in recent years as fans of the genre debate the sexually explicit content that has permeated the culture. Lil Mama took a break from defending her stance about transgendered children and decided to hop on the “#TrackStarChallenge” by spitting a few bars.

Over on TikTok, Mooksi’s “Track Star” has been making major waves after going viral and we’ve seen more people share their version of the challenge on other social media platforms. The challenge itself involves walking and running in place, but Lil Mama chose instead to use the moment to freestyle.

Some family members tried to talk me out my dreams / Some gang members tried to talk me out my jeans / Either way I’m bustin’ through the seams and what it seem like / Life is but a dream and it ain’t never what it seem like,” Lil Mama rapped. “Now I’m in the booth remixing this Mooski / Trips to the A gotta link with Toosi / Tell ’em weigh me down like my nickname Boosie.”

The New York emcee has been receiving praise for her rhymes, so check out the brief snippet and let us know what you think.

Nick Cannon Names 50 Cent, Nipsey Hussle, & T.I. On His “Top 5 Rappers Who Can Fight” List

After taking a brief hiatus following the backlash over his anti-Semitic remarks, Nick Cannon is back in full swing. It’s been reported that the media mogul has regained his working relationship with ViacomCBS and soon, Wild ‘N Out will return to your small screens. Cannon has been busy on the homefront with a new baby in tow and reported twins on the way, and he’s adding more to his heavy load by keeping things moving on his YouTube channel. Yesterday (March 22), Cannon shared a clip where he listed off a “Top 5,” but this time it’s all about rappers who know how to throw bows.

He prefaced his list by saying this is only his opinion and urged viewers to take to social media to weigh in. “Now, this is all about what’s been proven. It’s not about if you think you can fight,” said Cannon. “We done saw a couple rappers recently pretending they boxing. Tyga, you one of ’em. YK Osiris, I don’t know, he beat himself up. He fightin’ himself. So, there’s a lot of rappers trying to throw them hands, they’re some that really got hands and they size proves it.”

Obviously, we know that YK Osiris isn’t a rapper, but that’s beside the point. The list goes as is: No. 5, Cannon chooses 50 Cent (“We know 50 got hands!… I think 50 would knock the sh*t out of Floyd Mayweather!”); No. 4 is T.I. (“I’ve seen Tip. Tip will sock the sh*t out you!”); No. 3 is Hitman Holla; for No. 2 Cannon picked Nipsey Hussle (“[He] wasn’t no punk. We saw him slap the sh*t out that bodyguard.”); and the No. 1 spot went to The Game.

Cannon admitted that there are “several honorable mentions” including Waka Flocka, Gucci Mane, and Casanova. We’re a bit surprised DaBaby didn’t get a mention, but maybe that’s for the best. Check out the clip below to hear what Nick Cannon had to say about the rappers on his list and let us know who your Top 5 Rappers Who Can Fight would be.
