Zion Williamson Out Indefinitely After Fracturing Finger

Zion Williamson is one of the most fun young stars to watch right now. His dunks and blocks are on a completely different level and on any given night, Zion can give the other team at least 30 points. As it stands, the Pelicans are trying to fight their way into a playoff play-in spot and in order to do so, Williamson needs to be in the lineup. Unfortunately, it appears as though that’s not going to happen as Williamson was recently diagnosed with a fractured left ring finger.

The Pelicans announced the news today, much to the chagrin of their fanbase. Pelicans executive David Griffin actually slammed the NBA for the injury as the team firmly believes Zion isn’t fairly officiated. They believe he is constantly being hacked in the paint and that it is similar to what Shaq went through back in the day.

Griffin’s statement will certainly be reviewed by the league, which doesn’t take too kindly to public statements that criticize the officials. Meanwhile, Williamson’s injury will prove to be a huge loss for the Pelicans who have struggled mightily at times throughout the season.

Meek Mill Bans 6ix9ine From His Birthday Party

6ix9ine has been enjoying a prolonged stay in Florida as of late thanks to a string of performances around the state. Despite his status as a massive security risk, venues continue to have him back and it’s made for an interesting few shows. What makes his stay in Florida interesting is the fact that Meek Mill is now in Miami where he is supposed to celebrate his 34th birthday.

As many of you already know, 6ix9ine and Meek got into a huge altercation the last time they were in the same vicinity as there was a big shouting match that ultimately went viral on social media. Now, according to TMZ, Meek is making sure lightning doesn’t strike twice as the club hosting Meek’s party, has effectively banned 6ix9ine from attending.

For instance, Meek is supposed to spend tonight at the LIV nightclub in Miami and they will be very strict about not letting 6ix9ine into the show. Meek has numerous celebrity friends and they will all be attending the party. If 6ix9ine were to show up, it would certainly put a massive damper on things, so the ban is most definitely justified.

Despite this ban, there is no doubt that 6ix9ine is probably contemplating some sort of disruption although we’ll just have to wait and see. For now, we hope Meek’s party goes off without any problems.

Live Nation’s 2022 Show Bookings Are Double What They Were In 2019

Live music and entertainment has been necessarily put on hold during the advent of the coronavirus, where close proximity and large crowds are too risky as “super spreader” events to be legally happening. But now that vaccine rollout has begun, the booking behemoth has made it clear that next year, live events and live music will be back in full force. On a call with investors yesterday, May 6, Consequence reports that Live Nation CEO Michael Rapino let concerned parties know that the bookings for 2022 have already doubled the pre-pandemic rate in 2019.

“We are already seeing confirmed major tour dates for 2022 up double digits from the same time pre-pandemic in 2019 for 2020,” Rapino said. “Many of these artists will have multi-year tours, spanning the U.S., Europe and often either Asia or Latin America, setting us up for a strong multi-year growth run. Around the world, people are showing the need to get out and socialize once again which reinforces our expectation that a return to concerts will be the logical progression as vaccines are readily available to everyone who wants to get one.”

Particularly in the US, the interest in tours has skyrocketed due to increased vaccine availability, and Rapino said he expects other markets will react similarly. “This is generally already the case in the U.S. where we are confidently planning our reopenings, particularly for outdoor shows, and we expect many of our other major markets will follow this summer,” Rapino continued.

Finally, he noted that large scale events like festivals are slated to resume this summer.

JT Drags Lil Uzi’s Ex Brittany Byrd: “Move On Animated Grasshopper”

Lil Uzi Vert and JT have quickly become one of the most talked-about couples in hip-hop since going public with their relationship a few months ago. The couple is even slated to appear on the cover of men’s fashion magazine Arena Homme +. Of course, their union has not been without some drama. The City Girl’s rapper has proven countless times she’s unafraid to air out beef on the internet if need be, most recently taking aim at one other than Brittany Byrd.

Firing off more than ten tweets taking shots at the former girlfriend of Uzi, JT held nothing back as she ripped Byrd apart. She began the tirade with the general warning, “All jokes aside for someone who left someone the obsession is real, move on … be happy live your life!

While folks instantly suspected JT was taking aim at Brittany, her subsequent tweets seem to suggest Brittany was mocking JT and Uzi’s recent leaked cover photos. “Those photos were leaks! But it’s cool. I’m still that b*tch,” penned JT. A few moments before the “Jobs” artist began going in on Byrd, the former girlfriend of Uzi had tweeted a simple “LMFAO,” presumably aimed at the couple’s cover photos.

Based on the wide selection of tweets from JT, the attacks are not unprovoked. In response to a fan suggesting Brittany was the source of the drama, she replied, “She sneak diss me all the time saying I’m trying to be her I’m her son, please tell me how? You the one put on a wig after you got left.”

In another tweet, the Miami native ranted, “B*tch has nothing to show for that long pointless a*s relationship just drip pics & text messages! You not a baby mama wife nothing move on animated grasshopper.” In addition to the tweets, “JayTEA” altered her header to a suggestive image of what appears to be Brittany performing a questionable act on the hood of a car. Read through JT’s relentless reading of Brittany Byrd above and below.

Dave Chappelle Laments On His Inspiration To Return To Stand-Up

Dave Chappelle is one of the most adored comedians of the 21st century. Beginning his career over two decades ago, his longevity and his consistent positive public reception stem from his genuine knack for comedy. Chappelle made an appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast earlier this week reflecting on the history of Comedy Central’s Chapelle’s Show and reflecting on what pushed him to re-enter the comedy realm.

Chappelle and Rogan first discussed how fan’s voices were a pivotal force behind getting Chappelle’s Show back on the air. “It wasn’t a court of law,” Chappelle said around three minutes into the interview and also seen in the clip below. “I don’t believe I would have got anything in a court of law. I think, in the court of public opinion, it was a good time for me to say my piece and through the years it wasn’t something I would harp on. … It was something I was actually reluctant to talk about.”

When asked about what he embarked on during his years between the conclusion of the show and his return to the forefront of comedy, Chappelle explained, “I learned a lot.”

He added, “It was a humble existence. I had had young children and I was raising my kids. I was living a suburban life. And then every once in a while, I’d get this feeling like, I’m the funniest guy. I gotta get out there. And I would, like, fly to Denver and do a week in Denver or something. … I would perform like I was desperate for it.”

He then divulged the personal importance of his brief stint on the Oddball Comedy and Curiosity festival tour in 2013. He continued to explain how when he turned 40, he decided to himself “I’m gonna have fun.” He referenced the deaths of DMX and Black Rob as urging him to accomplish this goal.

“It’s not a midlife crisis,” he said. “It’s the opposite of that. It’s like, look, I know I don’t get to stay here forever. My time is limited and precious and I don’t take any of these things for granted. I don’t take this money for granted, this platform. And I’m not talking about the fame platform. I’m talking about comedy, this genre. This genre has been so good for me.”
