Patrick Paige II Grabs Westside McFly For “Big Plays”

Patrick Paige II just dropped off If I Fail Are We Still Cool? and the project is being hailed as one of the best projects of the year. The project mixes soul, rap, hip-hop, R&B, and pop very effectively. There’s a little bit of something for everyone on this one. One of the fan favorites on the album is “Big Plays,” featuring Westside McFly.

A jump instrumental comprised of a bouncy synth and excited percussions will make you nod your head in satisfaction. Paige steps onto the track with a sick flow, weaving his words around the sporadic drums. The chorus is amped and hype, which is effective at getting it stuck at your head. Turn “Big Plays” up loud.

Quotable Lyrics
I make big plays, boss moves
Money on the line, all the time
I just gotta shine, ouchea on the grind
Make a way, tryna make a way
Tryna make a way

The Internet’s Patrick Paige II Drops Off “If I Fail Are We Still Cool?”

The Internet was amazing as a group, but they’re just as good separate. We’ve received dope albums from Syd and Steve Lacy somewhat recently, and now Patrick Paige II is making his name known. He may not be the most known member of the crew, but that should slowly change after If I Fail Are We Still Cool? really starts circulating.

Patrick Paige II’s smooth bars mixed with some truly amazing and chill production helps this album shine. It feels right at home in the catalog of his fellow group members. So if you love The Internet, this is definitely an album you need to be bumping. If I Fail Are We Still Cool? runs for 17 tracks and features appearances from Saba, Forte Bowie, Westside McFly, Ohana Bam, Syd, Steve Lacy, Allen Love, Durand Bernarr, and Paco TP. Carmelo Anthony Reacts To Nuggets Fans Booing Him

Carmelo Anthony’s time with the Portland Trail Blazers has been a lot of fun and this year, he is looking to help the team win a playoff round. In the first round, they are up against the Denver Nuggets which is the team Melo started his career with. So far, the Blazers are off to a good start as they actually won Game One thanks to solid performances from Damian Lillard and Melo.

Unfortunately, the Nuggets fans were quite rude to Melo as they booed him whenever he checked into the game. Afterward, Melo was asked by reporters how he felt about it, and as you can see, Melo isn’t quite sure where it comes from. He even noted that he has never disparaged the franchise or its fans.

“What else can they do? I don’t know what it is. I gave my all here for 7.5 years,” Melo said. “I’ve never said anything bad about Denver, about fans, the organization, players. I never complained. I took everything on the chin even when it wasn’t my fault.”

If the Blazers continue to play like this, Melo will likely get his revenge via series victory. However, it’s clear that Nikola Jokic and the Nuggets will not go down without a fight.

Chris Rock Highlights How Crazy 2020 Was On “Saturday Night Live” Finale

Saturday Night Live aired its season finale this weekend. Musical guest Lil Nas X shook up the stage (and tore his pants), while The Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy hosted. The cold open for the show featured the SNL cast talking about their crazy season, which started back in October. Aidy Bryant, Kate McKinnon, Cecily Strong, and Kenan Thompson start it off by highlighting their bad years (besides Thompson, who jokingly admits he had a great year). More of the cast join in before Chris Rock makes a surprise appearance.

Rock hosted the season premiere back in October. It seems like ages ago, but he highlights what was happening the week he was hosting. “Here’s how messed up the world was when I hosted,” he joked. “I wanted Kanye West to be the musical guest but he couldn’t do it because he was running for president! Remember that? Also, the week I was here, the sitting president who said COVID would disappear, got COVID.”

“Everyone else was fleeing New York but Lorne Michaels was like ‘We should go back for comedy,’ ” Ego Nwodim joked. It wasn’t all jokes with the cast though. They take a moment to speak on the lives lost during the pandemic, including the show’s music producer Hal Willner.

Toronto’s Portion Preps For His Major Label Debut With “99 Prblms”

Toronto’s witnessing a renaissance in its post-Drake rise. While Drizzy will forever be regarded as the 6ix God, it’s artists like Pressa who are ushering in a new era for the city in the soundscape of hip-hop. There’s a few artists that are helping this push including Portion who recently inked a deal with Warner Music Canada. Ahead of his forthcoming project, the rapper unveiled his first single on the label titled, “99 Prblms.” Guitar strings sweep through the production as Portion’s honeyed melodies details his rags-to-riches story.

“’99 Prblms’ is fitting as the first release as it’s the first single I recorded myself. The single is inspired by the ups and downs of life on the way to success,” he said in a statement about the single.

Quotable Lyrics
Bitches say I’m actin’ famous, makin’ sure the bros live large
She ain’t never been to Hollywood and walk on stars
Bad lil’ bitch, she left Sephora in a foreign car
They don’t want to see me win, they rather see me starve

Father Drops Psychedlic Vibes On New Track “Shit Got Old, Got Sick”

Father has always been one of those artists who doesn’t mind making fun of himself in his music. He’s also been known to come through with some hilarious bars and his friendship with Zack Fox is a demonstration of the type of humor we can come to expect from him. On his latest track “Shit Got Old, Got Sick,” that humor is on full display as we see Father take a nonchalant approach to relationships and topics surrounding sex.

Throughout the song, we get some psychedelic production that hangs around in the back and helps enhance the mumbled autotuned vocals that are coming from Father. From there, the artist raps about a girl whose sexual prowess simply isn’t working on him anymore, and now, he is looking to move on. Overall, it’s a lowkey track and it’s a solid effort that you can stream, below.

Quotable Lyrics:

She gon’ fuck me quick
She gon’ fuck the clique
She gon’ suck some dick
She gon’ lose her mind
I’m gon’ waste her time

Lil Nas X Splits His Pants Wide Open While Working Stripper Pole On “SNL”

Lil Nas X was the musical guest on Saturday Night Live this weekend, and he brought his provocative “Montero” single to life. The chart-topping single stirred up controversy because the young artist takes a stripper pole to hell and then twerks on the devil. Conservatives and Christians around the nation rallied against the video, only making it reach higher levels of success.

Lil Nas X decided to bring the same over-the-top energy to SNL. He performed the single with a group of topless male dancers, and they went all out to sell the production. The performance is one of the more mature ones we’ve seen on SNL in awhile. At one point, Lil Nas X jumps onto a stripper pole, and drops it low. At that moment you can see his face look stunned, as he quickly grabs for his crouch and holds on for dear life. He finishes the performance holding his pants at the seams, without missing a beat.

Lil Nas X also performed “Sun Goes Down” and was included in a Pride skit for SNL. The second performance was much more low key, and featured Nas X in a white suit with fake bullet wounds.

Dominique Wilkins Claims Atlanta Restaurant Was Racist Towards Him

Former NBA star Dominique Wilkins had an unfortunate situation play out in Atlanta recently as he attempted to dine at Le Bilboquet restaurant. According to a Twitter post from the Hall of Fame star, the restaurant acted in a racist way towards him as they wouldn’t let him in due to a supposed violation of their dress code.

“In my many years in the world, I’ve eaten at some of the greatest restaurants in the world, but never have I felt prejudice or been turned away because of the color of my skin, until today in #atlanta,” Wilkins wrote.

After Wilkins’ accusations went viral, Le Bilboquet responded to the former star, claiming that they are strict with their business casual dress code and that at the time, he didn’t fit their standards.

“We, at Le Bilboquet, do our best to accommodate all of our guests,” the restaurant said in a statement. “However, we have received consistent complaints from our patrons regarding other guest’s wardrobe choices.  As a result, to protect our restaurant’s culture, we installed a minimum standard in our ‘business casual’ attire dress code which includes jeans and sneakers but prohibits baseball caps and athletic clothing including sweat pants and tops.”

According to TMZ, Wilkins called cap on the restaurant’s assertions, noting that he was wearing designer pants and a shirt. He even claims the restaurant employees gave him an up and down look, and then refused to serve him. Based on replies to Wilkins’ initial tweet, it seems like the restaurant has a reputation of doing this to patrons, and with Wilkins calling them out so publically, it’s not looking good for the old PR department.

Instagram Gallery: It’s Jayda Cheaves’ Year

Jayda Cheaves is making 2021 her year. After negative press in 2020 from cheating scandals, the 23-year-old mother was unsatisfied with her ‘baby momma’ title. Her actions this year show she has made it her mission to make a name for herself outside of her rapper baby daddy, Lil Baby.

After the two split in February, Jayda began to rid herself of all reminders of Lil Baby, but these days, the two seem to be approaching reconciliation as the rapper continues to adorn Jayda with extravagant gifts.

Outside of her complicated relationship she has established herself as a woman of balance — focused on business ventures just as much as posting a new Birkin.

Before dating Lil Baby, Jayda was already known as an influencer in Atlanta for her hair business, Amour, and apparently becoming a millionaire at just 20 years old.

For her son’s second birthday in February, Jayda gifted him his own children’s book business, starting with a short story written by her. A Day with Baby L.A. sold out completely, securing a stable financial future for her son, all the while using the limelight to her advantage.

In May, she celebrated the launch of her new business, a clothing line called Waydaminmerch. If anyone is going to bounce back this year, it is Jayda. She is a hard worker and loves to share how it all pays off. Her ‘Gram is filled with sponsorships, bomb bikini photoshoots, and glamorous pictures before nights out.
