Bow Wow Gives City Girls Their Flowers, Calls “Twerkulator” A “Hit”

Since their breakout moment with Drake on “In My Feelings,” the City Girls have been defending their place in the Rap game. The pair of Florida natives are known for their explicit lyrics and back-shaking beats, but they’ve been attacked for how they’ve presented themselves as rappers. Regardless of the criticism, they continue to climb the charts with club-ready releases, and with Summer knocking on our doors, their latest single “Twerkulator” is prepped for radio and DJ spins around the globe.

One person who made sure to give City Girls their flowers was Bow Wow who wrote on his Instagram Story that he had to “admit” that the two ladies had a hit on their hands.

“Ok so i finally met the @thegirljt And @yungmiami305,” wrote Bow. “I MUST ADMIT! Not only are they very nice women and down to earth, but this f*cking twerkolator song is F*CKING CRAZY! LIKE THE ORIGINAL IS ALREADY CRAZY BUT THIS SH*T KNOCKS!!!” It seems that Bow Wow has jumped on the “Twerkulator” train because he can’t get enough.

“AM I WRoNG FOR SINGING THIS SH*T BECAUSE i CANT STOP HAHAHA THE SH*T IS SIMPLY A F*CKING HIT.” Aside from revealing that he’s stanning City Girls at the moment, Bow Wow has also occupied his timelines with poking and prodding at his good friend Soulja Boy. The pair will reportedly be appearing on Verzuz together and they’re having fun teasing one another. Meanwhile, Romeo Miller, who has been appealing to Bow for some sort of collaboration, hasn’t yet made a statement about being left out of the festivities. Check out Bow Wow’s post below.

Gucci Mane Formally Welcomes BigWalkDog To 1017 On “Poppin”

Gucci Mane has been reconstructing the 1017 roster ever since he was released from prison. The rapper had Hoodrich Pablo Juan, Asian Doll, and Lil Wop on the roster at one point in time before each artist went their own ways. These days, the 1017 imprint houses some of the hottest rappers in the game such as Pooh Shiesty and the now-incarcerated Foogiano. The latest rapper to sign to the label is Mississippi’s BigWalkDog who Gucci Mane introduced earlier today.

Now, BigWalkDog and Gucci Mane have formally cemented the 1017 deal with their new collaboration, “Poppin.” Backed by trickling piano keys, BigWalkDog celebrates his newfound success while vowing to maintain his authenticity in his rise. Meanwhile, Gucci Mane brags about his success rate as an A&R with hopes that BigWalkDog will follow suit.

Montana Yao Forgives Malik Beasley, Goes Off On Larsa Pippen

The romance between Malik Beasley and Larsa Pippen is over, and he’s gone crying back to his estranged wife, Montana Yao. This drama has been unfolding in front of a social media audience for months as Yao claimed she learned that her 24-year-old NBA star husband was dating the 46-year-old wife of Scottie Pippen online with the rest of the world. There were rumors that Beasley and Yao were divorcing and later, Pippen sat down for an interview and shared that as far as she knew, the NBA player was separated from his wife.

However, Beasley recently admitted that he wasn’t in the right headspace and declared his love for Yao. He called his decisions “childish” and said he was looking for forgiveness. Yao responded with lengthy messages about never keeping their son from his father and accepting Beasley’s public apology, but she had some scathing words for Mrs. Pippen.

“Your threats are good over here ma’am try somewhere else,” Yao wrote on her Instagram Story. “You really need to be put in check or something cause you really wildin out here thinking you bout to tell either Malik or I how to act… Both of you were wrong as hell but YOU ma’am had the nerve to talk all that sh*t to me as if I was wrong? First of all we as women don’t claim you, you wouldn’t know girl code if it slapped you in the face you just a old desperate thirsty ass ran thru blow up doll.”

“You need clout that bad at your age?” she added. Yao insinuated that Pippen “embarrassed” her children. “Like GOOO SPEND TIME WITH YO KIDS!… You really tried to trap Malik too lmao tryna get him to go to fertility clinics with u? Are you crazy? You barely even spend time with the kids you already have and you want more?… Go work on yourself, read a book, something to better your life while youo still have time.”

It’s a lot. Check out Yao’s messages, as well as Larsa Pippen’s response, in full below.

As the rapper continues to pursue his hoop dreams overseas, his team is still pushing the project following its debut atop the Billboard 200. Shortly after the album’s release, he offered visuals for the record “amari.” The rapper took to Instagram earlier today where he revealed that a new music video for “applying pressure” will be dropping on Tuesday. He shared a grainy photo of himself, presumably a still from the video.

The rapper’s latest body of work has produced four of the most streamed songs of the week, according to Billboard. “My Life” featuring 21 Savage and Morray, “Amari,” “Pride Is The Devil,” featuring Lil Baby, and “95 South” all debuted within the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. Along with Olivia Rodrigo’s “Good 4 U,” the five tracks marked the first time that five songs debuted in the top 10 on the Billboard Hot 100 in the chart’s history.

J. Cole is still doing big numbers, even if he isn’t on the traditional promotional campaign. Peep the Dreamville rapper’s post below.

Moneybagg Yo Allegedly Swiped A Twitter User’s Caption, She Responds

Earlier this month, Moneybagg Yo celebrated A Gangsta’s Pain making its debut at the top of the Billboard charts. The Memphis rapper’s latest project earned him No. 1 bragging rights and it’s an accomplishment that Moneybagg’s fans, friends, and loved ones believe is well-deserved. The climb to the top has been a long journey for Moneybagg and it looks as if he intends to ride his high as long as he can.

Three days ago, a Memphis resident named Kei took to Twitter to celebrate her city’s accolades with a message. “Memphis got the number 1 album in the country and we going to the playoffs. Talk to us nice FR,” wrote Kei. The next day, Moneybagg appeared on Instagram with a caption that looked eerily similar.

Kei took a  screenshot of Moneybagg’s post and added, “I’m charging $20 for captions.” After The Neighborhood Talk shared the exchange, Kei jumped in their comments to clarify that she wasn’t shading Moneybagg Yo.

“[Sideways crying emoji] y’all I love Bagg,” she said. “I just thought it was funny. We both from Memphis so it’s not hard to believe he saw the tweet. I’m glad he felt what I said cause Memphis winning fr!!” Check it out below.

Erica Mena Won’t Get Pregnant Again Because “It’s Not Easy Doing It Alone”

They’re expecting their bundle of joy soon and all looked to be well between Safaree Samuels and Erica Mena, but an Instagram comment has caused their fans to think otherwise. The Love & Hip Hop New York couple allowed cameras to documents the development of their romance in real-time. The couple dated, got engaged, and married on reality TV, but their real-life issues played out on social media.

There were accusations thrown about Safaree being a selfish person and he hopped online to express that getting married was a terrible decision, but once their beautiful baby girl was born, it seemed that they got their problems in check.

Erica previously made it clear that she wasn’t interested in marriage advice from strangers before sharing that she and Safaree were once again expecting a baby. In a recent Instagram post, Erica uploaded a picture of little Safire Majesty with a sweet caption about her “best friend.” Mena wrote, “We’ve been enjoying all the moments that matter together. God knows exactly what he is going. I’m SO grateful all my kids chose me.”

An Instagram user commented that she hoped that Erica has more children in the future, but the reality mogul shut that down. “Absolutely never getting pregnant again,” replied Mena. “Lol it’s not easy doing it alone girl.” Of course, people began to gossip about why she feels alone in her pregnancy with a husband, but neither Erica nor Safaree have made any public statements about their marriage since their last online spat.

Solange Launches The Saint Heron Creative Agency To Highlight Overlooked Artists

In 2013, Solange launched her label and website, Saint Huron, to highlight the artists she wanted to bring attention to. Today, she took things a step further, turning Saint Huron into a full-on creative agency. Meanwhile, the Saint Huron website has been updated to function as a sort of digital mood board which will highlight a new artist every week.

In addition to visual stories, the site will also feature interviews with Shala Monroque and artist Cassi Namoda, and conversations between poets, authors, and artists like Helga Davis, Okwui Okpokwasili, Barbara Chase-Riboud, and Ilyasah Shabazz.

As far as physical endeavors, Saint Huron also announced plans to hold a series of gallery exhibitions, an artist-in-residence program, a permanent art collection, a non-profit library, and art films. Saint Records will continue to release music, as well.

In a press release, Solange said: “Worldmaking has been a huge part of my practice. The idea of leaving behind cities, meccas, and universes that were occupied and celebrated by bodies, voices, celebrations, and rituals to be discovered down the line. As we transition to an institution, the answer and the vision become abundantly clear. We are creating a legacy where we not only continue the work we have already built but preserve collections of creators with the urgency they deserve. Together we want to create an archive of stories, and works we deem valuable. We want to open up these works publicly and make them accessible to students, and our communities for research, engagement, and consumption, so that the works are integrated into our collective story and belong and grow with us. We are creating an embodiment of living testaments to the glory of expression, and how that recharges and reaffirms the reverence we hold for our own cultural and artistic worth. We look forward to furthering the pursuit of authenticity that empowers the stories of our people.”

Swizz Beatz Shares Epic Trailer For DMX’s “Exodus” Album

DMX’s posthumous album Exodus, recorded and completed prior to his passing on April 9th, is only days away from its release on May 28th. Last week, Swizz Beatz shared the tracklist and stacked roster of guest appearances, which include JAY-Z, Nas, Snoop Dogg, The LOX, Alicia Keys, Lil Wayne, Denaun Porter, Infrared & Cross, Westside Gunn, Benny The Butcher, Conway The Machine, Bono, Moneybagg Yo, and more.

Now, the producer has returned to share an epic trailer for the project. “Let’s get it started !!!!” captions Swizzy in a message destined to spark nostalgia. “4 days till EXODUS @dmx 5/28!!!!!!!!!!! Let’s take it back to the motherf****** Streets !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! RR 4 Life!!!!!”

The trailer itself, while not revealing much in the way of new music, seems to foreshadow an explosive return to the days when the Ruff Ryders movement was a mainstay in the game. Flashes of apex predators and X’s live concert performances meet sudden spontaneous acts of violence and triumphant feats of athleticism, all while a tense siren keeps a steady rhythmic wail throughout. It goes a long way in setting a tone for what’s to come, and many were quick to flood the comment section with anticipation and excitement.

“My fam, you know, Double R,” X can be heard saying at one point — and sure enough, his former labelmates Jadakiss, Styles P, Sheek Louch, Infrared, and Cross will be holding it down on Exodus, reunions that likely excited many fans of the once-mighty dynasty. Should you be looking for a glimpse at what DMX’s upcoming album will offer, check out the new trailer below. Exodus drops in full on May 28th.
