Skooly Shares His New Single “Low Key”

From his days with Rich Kidz to signing to 2 Chainz’s T.R.U. imprint, Skooly’s career has undoubtedly played a role in shaping the sound of Atlanta today. Though it might not be as widely recognized as it should be, Skooly’s unique mesh of bars and melodies leans closer to the R&B side while maintaining the grittiness of trap music. Each project and single showcases this marriage well.

The rapper returned with a brand new single this week titled, “Low Key.” Skooly gets romantic on this record as he flexes his vocal chops over spacey production. The ATL rapper reflects on spoiling his lady and honeymoon-phase romance which only makes Ray J/Kim K. album artwork that much more hilarious.

Peep the latest offering from Skooly below.

June is packed with events from coast to coast as people attend shows, festivals, marches, and the like, and we’re already seeing LGBTQIA+ Hip Hop artists and allies displaying their support.

Back in 2018, DreamDoll sat down for an interview with DJ Smallz where she spoke about being heterosexual…sort of. “I love bad b*tches and beautiful women and big butts and beautiful faces, but for the most part, I can only see myself dating a guy,” she said at the time. “No, I’m not bisexual, but I like beautiful women, like, you know.”

Damson Idris Reacts To Trolls After Posing Question About Men Getting Curved

In a way to interact with fans, celebrities are often advised to pose random questions that engage their social media followers. They’re usually about pop culture or relationships as the public never ceases on sharing opinions about either topic, but Damson Idris found himself on the receiving end of troll behavior when he recently delivered a tweet.

The Snowfall star wrote, “Question. Ladies if a guy keeps texting you to meet up but you know you will NEVER want to why don’t you just tell him?”

It was innocent enough, but soon, Damson’s timeline was flooded with people teasing him because they assumed he was speaking about a personal experience. However, the actor returned to clarify. “Chill I don’t get curved lol,” the actor stated in a follow-up tweet. ‘I just ask the questions men want to hear. Why be on twitter if we can’t have stimulating conversations. But more importantly, if I’m ever ‘corny’ to you then your not my type anyway.”

Damnson’s fans applauded him for his response to the negativity, but he eventually took a short break and deactivated his Twitter account. The actor returned shortly after, only to post a GIF of Donald Glover on Community. Check it out below.

Sicilian Mafia Boss Known As “People Slayer” Released From Prison

A ruthless Sicilian Mafia crime boss who has been to several gruesome murders, including the killing of a famous anti-Mafia prosecutor, has been released from prison after serving 25 years, CBS reports.

Brusca is being released after serving a 25-year sentence after becoming an informant for officials to help take down other members of the mob. On Monday, he was released from Rebibbia prison in Rome and is set to serve four years on probation.

Giovanni Brusca, known to many as the “People Slayer,” played a pivotal role in the Cosa Nostra, serving under Salvatore “Toto” Riina.” Brusca reportedly admitted to hundreds of murders including the bomb that killed prosecutor Giovanni Falcone in 1992. The infamous murder took place after Falcone’s efforts to take down the mob. Along with Falcone, his wife and three bodyguards also died in the explosion.

News of Brusca’s release has been met with pushback. The wife of one of the bodyguards described Brusca’s release as a slap in the face. “The state is against us – after 29 years we still don’t know the truth about the massacre and Giovanni Brusca, the man who destroyed my family, is free,” Tina Montinaro,” told Republica.

Brusca is also notoriously known for the murder of the 12-year-old son of Giuseppe Di Matteo, a mafia member who cooperated with authorities. Brusca reportedly strangled the child and threw him into acid — an act that authorities called “one of the most heinous crimes in the history of the Cosa Nostra.”

Boosie Badazz & Dee Rogers Release “Clutchin” Following Video Set Shooting

Boosie Badazz was at the center of headlines this past weekend after a fatal shooting occurred on a music video set to one of his songs. Boosie ultimately wasn’t harmed and a suspect was later arrested for the murder of 20-year-old Randall Strong Jr who died in the hospital.

Whether or not you think this would be a sound decision, Boosie proceeded with the rollout for the music video he shot that day. The rapper teamed up with Dee Rogers for their new single, “Clutchin.” The two rappers light up the horn-driven with braggadocious bars reflecting on the street life and guns, as you could imagine.

The video ends with a message reading, “Love Live Lil Ran.”  Check out Boosie Badazz and Dee Rogers new track “Clutchin” below.

J. Cole Rakes In Nearly $2M From ‘The Off-Season’ In Its First Week

J. Cole began the rollout of his highly-anticipated sixth studio album The Off-Season way back in July of 2020 with its lead single “The Climb Back.” He followed up with “Interlude” this month a week before debuting the project. Proving to be another instant success for Cole, the project became his sixth consecutive number-one album in the country.

Additionally, he earned the largest streaming week of 2021, accumulating over 325.5 million streams while selling 282,000 album-equivalent units in its first week. With such a colossal opening week, it’s no surprise the North Carolina native earned nearly $2 million from song revenue after just one week.

According to newly published chart revenue via Hip Hop Numbers, Cole collectively earned $1,727,000 from all of the song’s on The Off-Season in its first week. “My Life,” “Amari,” “Pride is the Devil” and “95 South” lead the pack with revenues of $214k, $193k, $185k, and $180k respectively.

“Applying Pressure,” “100 Mil’,” “Interlude,” “Let Go My Hand,” “Punchin’ the Clock,” and “The Climb Back” each earned the Grammy winner over $100k each, while “Hunger on Hillside” and “Close” each raked in over $90k for Cole

While these figures are nearly unheard of with most new musical releases, the chart success of each song on the album paints a clear image of how he was able to accomplish it. While four songs from the album debuted in the top ten region of the Billboard Hot 100 chart, each song on the album charted within the top forty.

To put it simply, J. Cole is unstoppable
