Isaiah Rashad Drops Off “Headshots (4r Da Locals)”

Isaiah Rashad’s anticipated album The House Is Burning is on the way, and today the TDE rapper has come through to deliver another glimpse at the music to come. Following the release of his recent single “Lay Wit Ya,” a bouncy duet with Quality Control’s Duke Deuce, Zay has come through with “Headshots (4r da locals).”

Backed by a bass-driven and vibey instrumental, Rashad catches a tight pocket as he slides from hook to verse. “I tell a bitch eat it like Doja Cat,” he raps, never breaking a stride. “You see the wrist, whip it like Bouldercrest / I got a crib bigger than Budapest / and the shots ain’t bringing my soldiers back.” Between this one and “Lay Wit Ya,” Zay’s upcoming project is looking to have a distinctive and cohesive sound — expect great things from The House Is Burning.

Kim Kardashian Explains Her Decision To Divorce Kanye West

Keeping Up With The Kardashians is officially off the air. After fourteen years and twenty seasons, the Kardashian family has decided to end the series with the final episode airing last week. On Thursday night, the sisters met up with Andy Cohen for a reunion show, discussing all of the intricacies that made up the longtime reality production. One of the biggest storylines during the final season was Kim’s divorce from Kanye West, which the world learned about earlier this year.

The power couple is breaking up after six years of marriage and people are surprised to see that they weren’t able to make it last. During last night’s reunion, Andy Cohen pushed for the details on their divorce, flat-out asking Kim why their relationship didn’t work, to which she answered as candidly as she could.

“I honestly don’t think I would even say it here on TV, but it’s not one specific thing that happened on either part. I think it’s just a general difference of opinions on a few things that led to this decision,” said Kim, carefully choosing her words. “We have an amazing co-parenting relationship and I respect him so much and I think we’ll have– you know, that was my friend first. First and foremost, for a long time.”

Kanye West has been spotted with his new girlfriend, supermodel Irina Shayk, on a few separate occasions, as they walk around Los Angeles and New York. Kim has not publicly commented on her estranged husband’s new relationship. She is not currently dating anybody.

Are you sad to see Kim and Kanye’s marriage end?

DaBaby Is The Big Man On Campus In “Ball If I Want To” Visual

He’s developed a career where he’s known to collaborate with top-selling artists in hopes of creating the next No. 1 hit, but DaBaby stands alone on his latest single. On Thursday (June 17), the North Carolina rapper announced—with the help of his daughter—that he had something brewing.

“All my beautiful fans, supporters, family, we got a big surprise for y’all tonight at midnight, don’t we baby,” said the rapper in a video as he introduced his daughter. Following her confirmation, he continued, “At midnight, we got a big surprise for y’all, so y’all be ready. Matter of fact, be ready around 11:30 p.m. eastern time.”

He didn’t disappoint as he released his new single “Ball If I Want To” along with a high school-themed music video. Much like some of the rapper’s previous releases, the visual features upside-down twerking, dozens of dancers executing fire choreography, and of course, DaBaby demanding attention in the center of it all.

Stream “Ball If I Want To” and let us know what you think.

Quotable Lyrics

It’s fire on the front of my waistline
First n*gga try me, it’s playtime
Play ’round, you lay down, dog and he hot like Cujo
Me and her get on the floor, and we felt like some K9s
Pop-out lil’ n*gga, gon’ have to put you on top of the list
Ain’t no opps in the n*gga, they scared to let me in the room
Somebody in that b*tch gotta be blockin’ my pimpin’, that’s Baby

Cordae And Common’s ‘What’s Life’ Seeks Answers To Society’s Current Qualms

While the two rappers might be a couple of rap generations removed from each other, a collaboration between Cordae and Common makes a lot of sense. Both are patient lyricists who present strong storytelling abilities while also laying off impressive bars with ease. Both rappers make a cross-generational connection for their new song, “What’s Life.” The effort watches the duo sift for answers to society’s current qualms while contemplating what their everyday lives might look like without aspects they deem as important.

Cordae and Common’s collaboration can be found on the newly-released Liberated / Music For The Movement Vol. 3 EP which arrives with five songs and other contributions from Lucky Daye, Chloe Bailey, Yara Shahidi, and saxophonist Kamasi Washington. On the individual side of things, Cordae recently shared his Just Until EP before gracing faces with videos for “Wassup,” “Dream In Color,” and “More Life.” Common, on the other hand, is hard at work producing a documentary — named God’s Long Summer after a book written by Charles Marsh — about Civil Rights activist Fannie Lou Hamer.

You can listen to “What’s Life” in the video above.

Liberated / Music For The Movement Vol. 3 is out now via Hollywood Records. Get it here.

Cordae is a Warner Music artist. Uproxx is an independent subsidiary of Warner Music Group.

Leon Bridges Questions The Growing Distance Between Him And A Partner On ‘Why Don’t You Touch Me’

More than three years removed from his last album, Good Thing, Texas singer Leon Bridges is readying the release of his third effort, Gold-Diggers Sound. The project is one that’s been supported by strong singles like “Sweeter” and “Motorbike,” and now, he adds the third preview for the upcoming project with “Why Don’t You Touch Me.” His latest drop questions the growing distance between him and his partner as they watch their once-passionate love fade away. The new track is also accompanied by a heart-wrenching video that captures the broken love Leon sings about.

Prior to sharing “Motorbike,” Leon gave some insight about Gold-Diggers Sound. “I created this world with @rickyreed and @natemercereau at Gold Diggers Studio in East Hollywood over the course of two very long years,” Bridges wrote in an Instagram post. “With immense joy, greater purpose, and sometimes doubt, I labored over these eleven songs, but the record truly came together when I immersed myself in everything @golddiggersla making it my home, my escape, and the center of my creative world.”

The singer added, “The record features some remarkably talented friends, longtime collaborators and I believe it’s my most personal album yet.” Gold-Diggers Sound is highlighted by guest appearances from Terrace Martin, Ink, and Robert Glasper.
