Tinashe Changes Pace With “Bouncin”

Tinashe remains a figurehead in the R&B world, constantly providing the perfect vibe for whatever mood her fans are in. She kicked off the Summer a few weeks ago with the release of “Pasadena’ featuring West Coast native Buddy, though fans should look forward to a series of Summer jams as she returns this week with the new “Bouncin.” With its playful, yet unique production and Tinashe’s tried and true melodies, “Bouncin” is sure to make it on to your Summer playlists.

“Bouncin” finds Tinashe at a strange musical crossroads. The production, full of fluttering synths, bells, and hard 808s, as well as some of Tinashe’s casual flows, seem straight out of a Charli XCX song– though with all the vocal ability of Beyoncé. The song is atmospheric enough to be a perfect backdrop to a night under the stars or an overnight road trip, while fun enough to power a day party or a small picnic.

“Boucin” is definitely a track you should check out, and we’re sure you’ll be hearing it a lot this summer.

Lawsuit Claims Video Of Breonna Taylor’s Death Is Being Witheld

The case of Breonna Taylor’s death was shrouded in debates about property rights and personal freedom. One thing that could have helped clear up confounding testimony would be the presence of body cam video footage showing the Louisville Police Officers breaking into her home and shooting her– but there were no bodycams on the the police officers. However, according to Complex, Louisville attorney Sam Aguilar believes that body cams were present, and that the video footage of the incident is being hidden.

Aguilar argues that more than one officer had a body cam on while attacking Taylor’s home. These specific body cams turn on automatically, Aguilar states, which would make it impossible for them to not be on at one point or another. The Louisville Metro police Department has repeatedly claimed that no such footage exists, and no officer at the house had a body camera on.

The Civil Rights Division of the Department of Justice opened an investigation into the practices of the LMPD in April. Of the investigation, Attorney General Merrick Garland said: “Promoting public trust between communities and law enforcement is essential to making both communities and policing safer… Our enforcement efforts, as well as our grant-making and other support, will contribute to achieving that end and to protecting the civil rights of everyone in our country.”

Only two of the officers involved were fired. We will keep you updated on the case.

J. Cole & Mark Phillips Recreate Viral Meme On The Set Of “The Jackie”

To many fans’ surprise, Mark Phillips, a popular Youtuber and the standout member of the content-creating group RDCWorld, makes a hilarious appearance in the music video for Bas’ new summer-ready single “The Jackie.” In the final scene of the video, Phillips sees J. Cole and Bas riding around in New York and performs a slight adaptation to his running “Jermaine ! Cole!” joke that has since become a viral meme. In the video, he asks for an autograph from the Dreamville rapper, and although he didn’t get one in the scene, Phillips got a much better memento in real life.

According to Complex, Mark Phillips met J. Cole at the video shoot prior to filming the scene, and in an inspirational and heartwarming moment, the two recreate the YouTuber’s viral meme.

“JERMAINE ! COLE!” Phillips writes in the post, clearly still excited about being able to link up with J. Cole and Bas. “I STILL CANT BELIEVE THIS ! COLE treated us like true friends man, first time ever meeting him! Truly one of the best moments of life man ! MAMA WE IN A MUSIC VIDEO THANK YOU BAS!”

His appearance in the music video for “The Jackie” is undoubtedly a dream come true for the YouTuber, and now with co-signs from J. Cole and LeBron James, Mark Phillips’ chances of landing the lead role in a potential Bernie Mac biopic are looking better and better.

The Weeknd’s $162K Black Panther Watch Is A Sight To Behold

The Weeknd is one of the biggest artists in the world especially when it comes to the pop and r&b space. With this in mind, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that he has millions of dollars to spend on various items. If you’ve followed The Weeknd over the years, then you would know he has never been a flashy guy as far as his style is concerned. Big cumbersome chains with lots of diamonds have never really excited him. However, just like many of us out there, Abel can be a sucker for a good watch.

Recently, the Canadian artist took to his Instagram page where he showcased his latest purchase, which we have to say, is pretty darn impressive. In the Instagram post found below, The Weeknd can be seen wearing an Audemars Piguet x Marvel Black Panther watch. This piece cost $162K and there are only 250 of them in the world.

With this piece, The Weeknd was also able to get some pretty dope packaging that wraps the shoe into this neat little bow. Overall, the entire piece is something to behold and we’re sure he will be wearing this one for years to come.

Let us know what you think of this brand new watch, in the comments section below.

Back in 2020, Quavo came through with his very own label called Huncho Records. The imprint now boasts the talents of various artists including the likes of 904 Reebok, Pop Out Boyz, and Street Bud. Just recently, Quavo added yet another talented artist to the label as it was revealed that he signed Georgia artist Yung Petro to the imprint.

Yung Petro is a 26-year-old artist who had been independent for the longest time, although ever since taking music more seriously, he has gotten noticed by some big artists, including Quavo. For instance, Petro has a song with Blac Youngsta called “Gang Shit” and he also has a song called “First Day Out Da Feds” which has over 1 million clicks on YouTube.

After news of his signing broke via the Athens Banner-Herald, Petro took to Instagram where he was very excited about the new opportunity ahead of him.

Yung Petro is expected to drop a brand new project later this year and as he explained, he is looking to gain as much knowledge as possible under Quavo’s wing. “There’s so much knowledge all I have to do is sit back and soak up game,” Petro said. “I don’t feel no pressure because I just get in the booth and rap my reality, my friends’ realities, and what I’ve been through and seen. Coming from where I come from… the people feel it and relate to it.”

Young Thug Croons Through Obscure Bighead Collab “Emotions”

No stranger to crooning, Jeffery Williams has delivered yet again on this odd cacophony. Credited to Bighead, the same produced behind Lil Pump’s “Gucci Gang” and a handful of other vital SoundCloud hits, “Emotions” is a ridiculous track stringing some very random artists together. Three Days Grace, a Canadian alternative group that phased between the likes of nu metal and emo-pop through the years, makes an appearance on here, as well as Hustle Gang rapper Yung Booke.

Nevertheless, the biggest name the track has to offer is Young Thug, and it didn’t take much for him to show that off. Sonically, the track evokes much of what we heard on Beautiful Thugger Girls back in 2017. With virtually no clue what to expect from his forthcoming album, said to be titled PUNK, maybe this is him giving us an idea of what to expect. Sadly, though, as mentioned, this is emo. Then again, how far off is pop punk from emo-pop? It’s not the widest gap, let’s just say that.

And while an emotional Thugger verse is always settling on the ears, it’s hard to say that’s the case when he’s followed up by whoever the hell this band’s new singer is.

Quotable Lyrics:
I’ve just been FaceTiming you all day, I don’t know how to Skype, baby, yeah
She seen the Patek and way too dramatic ’cause I got a flight in the middle of the night

Britney Spears Wards Off Haters After Bare Back Scandal

Barring her shithead of a father, Britney Spears has stood her ground. After posting a photo of her bareback on Instagram, she was met with controversy in regards to who was actually in the photo. With superfans knowing that the singer has a tattoo on her neck, they were questioning why it wasn’t on that of the photo’s subject.

Spears ultimately took to the same platform in order to address these concerns, which should truly be the least of concerns for both her or her fans following the news this past week. Nevertheless, she posted a classic Tumblr-era photo in response to the questions, reading “while you’re talking behind my back feel free to bend down and KISS MY ASS,” in this hilarious block font style.

With all this unnecessary controversy coming just one week after Spears’ judge denied to remove her father from conservatorship, which was subsequent to Jamie Spears denying all responsibility for her current living conditions. Having been the case since 2008, the early-2000s pop icon brought it upon herself to address these issues publicly for the first time. Documents from the case stated that she has not felt comfortable performing under her father’s “care,” though this did not help her case.

With cries of Free Britney coming from protests in Los Angeles, the singer has earned support from her music industry peers who have made it apparent that this is an unbearable situation, by all means.
