Floyd Mayweather Cashes In On Conor McGregor’s Massive Loss

Floyd Mayweather and Conor McGregor infamously fought all the way back in 2017, and of course, Mayweather came out of that match with the win. Since that time, McGregor has been pushing for a rematch, and when it comes to his UFC career, he has been taking some pretty massive Ls. His first fight back was a loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov in 2018, and in 2021, McGregor has lost back-to-back matches against Dustin Poirier.

The most recent of those matches was on Saturday where McGregor snapped his leg, leading to a fairly gruesome scene. As one can imagine, Mayweather took great joy in McGregor’s loss as he took to Instagram on Sunday with a token of gratitude for Dustin Poirier.

As you can see in the Instagram post below, Mayweather bet a whopping $50,000 on the fight. He placed his money on Poirier who was a -140 favorite. In the end, Poirier’s big win gave Mayweather an $85,000 ticket, which means the legendary boxer made a nice $35,000 profit. Mayweather has been known to engage in some sports gambling in the past and this was certainly no exception. After all, Poirier seemed like easy money after his fight against McGregor back in January.

As for the Irish-born fighter, he will now have to undergo rigorous rehab as he looks to make a comeback in 2022. It remains to be seen who his opponent will be, once he’s ready to fight again.

Pop Smoke’s “Faith” Album Cover Revealed

Pop Smoke’s upcoming posthumous album Faith is set to be released this Friday, July 16th. His first official studio release since the incredibly popular Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon (executive produced by 50 Cent), this new project has been steadily teased since its announcement.

Shortly after the big reveal, it was confirmed that snippets from the album were being hidden in promotional posters across Brooklyn, New York, some of which can be heard and seen right here.

Aside from those brief fragments, however, little else about Faith has been shared. It will be interesting to see how much music Pop had in the vault, and how his remaining unreleased material is arranged on his second posthumous release — albeit without the guiding hand of 50 Cent.

Now, the official album cover for Faith has been unveiled, as taken by photographer _Flix. The artwork is powerful in its simplicity, with Pop Smoke’s face commanding full attention as he stares directly into the camera. It would appear that the cover has already received approval from fans, a contrast to Virgil Abloh’s original — and controversial — design for Shoot For The Stars, Aim For The Moon

Check out the newly-unveiled album artwork for Pop Smoke’s upcoming album Faith below, and sound off if you’re excited to hear another release from the late rapper. Rest in peace, Pop Smoke.

Soulja Boy Reunites With Rich The Kid For “Rick N Morty (Remix)”

Soulja Boy loves to go viral and he’s quite good at it. Though oftentimes, it’s related to some sort of controversial statement about how his trendsetting ways and not about his music. However, it was a few weeks ago when he was streaming on Twitch and dropped a quick Rick & Morty-inspired freestyle that immediately set the Internet ablaze before Adult Swim actually picked it up for the show’s season 5 promo trailer.

As the rapper continues to deliver an influx of new tracks, he quietly dropped off a remix to the “Rick N Morty” freestyle alongside Rich The Kid. The two power through the smooth West Coast-inspired production with massive flexes. Rich The Kid’s added verse plays off of Rick’s name but pulls references from the MMG CEO and the renowned fashion designer, Rick Owens.

Quotable Lyrics
Rick Owens, might be rollin’
I just walked in with a .40 and it might be stolen
I ain’t flexin’ for the ‘gram, bitch, I’m rich, for real
Coulda signed to Soulja Boy but I been had a deal

Boosie Badazz & Flavor Flav Link Up Like Long Lost Brothers

No one really ever noticed how Boosie Badazz and Flavor Flav looked alike until a fan approached the Louisiana rapper thinking he was co-founder of Public Enemy. “I was just in the fuckin’ airport. Lady gon’ talkin’ bout, ‘FLAVOR FLAV!’ I don’t look like no damn Flavor Flav,” said Boosie in the hilarious viral clip. The incident immediately spurred jokes on the Internet including some commentary from Flavor Flav who later mocked Boosie over his video.

The joke may have run on longer than either Boosie or Flav would’ve hoped for. However, Boosie Badazz took to Instagram where he revealed that he and Flav have finally linked up. The rapper shared a promo video for the upcoming third installment of Boosie Bash which will include a guest appearance from Mr. Flavor Of Love himself. The Public Enemy legend plugged the event alongside Boosie Badazz on the Instagram clip.

“Y’all see this n***a right here? Ayo, check this out, you better come down to his bash,” he said about the event which goes down on Aug 27th & 28th. “The Boosie Bash, baby. That’s right. And Flavor Flav, I’m comin’. I’m gon’ be there.”

Fans immediately reacted to the video on social media and noticed the uncanny similarities after seeing the two rappers side-by-side. “I couldn’t tell who was who lol,” one user noted in the comments.

Skip Bayless Firmly Believes Conor McGregor Is Done

Skip Bayless is one of the harshest critics in all of sports media and whenever he gets on Undisputed, you can be sure he’s going to say something a bit controversial. Just like many of our readers, Bayless was watching UFC 264 on Saturday night as Conor McGregor took on Dustin Poirier in what should have been a trilogy fight for the ages. Instead, we got a one-round doctor stoppage caused by McGregor’s ankle snapping in half.

It was a pretty gruesome scene and for many, it was the ushering in of a new era in which McGregor just simply isn’t the guy he used to be. Bayless is one of the people who agrees with this assessment, and today, he noted that had the fight gone on past the first round, he still believes McGregor would have lost, and that he would have lost badly.

“I would’ve given Conor McGregor less than 0% of winning that fight if it had continued. That doctor’s stoppage took Conor off the hook a little, it saved him from more disgrace because he was about to get shredded,” Bayless said before adding “I have loved me some Conor McGregor. He is as entertaining an athlete as I have ever seen in any sport. But Saturday night was the beginning of the end, if not the end.”

McGregor got out of surgery yesterday and now, he has a long recovery ahead. For now, it seems like he is still determined to continue on with his career, although as Bayless explained, it might be hard for him to get past this one.

Fisher-Price Releases An Adorable Line Of Collectors Edition Run-DMC Little People Figures

Once upon a time, hip-hop was largely considered to be “for the children,” to paraphrase ODB. Then those kids grew up and had children of their own. Fortunately, some of them got really cool jobs like being toy designers at Fisher-Price, so they could transfer the simple joy of early hip-hop to their kids and ensure that the above-mentioned axiom remains true for another generation.

The children’s toy company is set to release a new collector’s line of its Little People figures featuring rap pioneers Run-DMC. The figures will be available for purchase at Amazon today, with the price set at $14.99. In addition to featuring all three members, the toys break Little People tradition with DMC’s figure eschewing the line’s usual “give me a hug” pose for his signature crossed arms stance.

These are pretty cool for any longtime fan who wants to share their interest with their toddlers and get them hooked on hip-hop culture early — or, you know, just for sticking on a shelf for display. You can find more information on Fisher-Price.com. And speaking of collector’s items, Run-DMC may be one of the most collectible groups in hip-hop history, with a ton of fun things from comics to limited-edition vinyl to their name.

50 Cent Celebrates His 46th Birthday With Style

On July 6th, 50 Cent turned forty-six years old, only a few years out from truly living up to his namesake. Given that one of his most iconic musical moments arrives at the beginning of “In Da Club,” in which he famously chants “go shawty, it’s your birthday,” it goes without saying that Fif understands the significance of the milestone.

As such, the rapper-turned-television-mogul made sure to celebrate in style, taking the trip down to party in Boston over the weekend. Yesterday, Fif took to Instagram to share a video recap of the lavish event, scored by the aforementioned “In Da Club.”

With the event going down at The Grand, the clip showcases a jam-packed venue fueled by #lecheminduroi fuelled revelry. It also appears as if Fif took the stage at one point during the night, though it’s unclear what songs he performed; perhaps the beloved deep cut “When It Rains It Pours” earned a position on the spotlight, unlikely though it may be.

Either way, Fif appears to have had a grand old time, as did those in attendance — a testament to his status as one of hip-hop’s best entertainers. “Boston B-day party was lit,” he writes, keeping it simple on his Instagram page.  We’d like to once again show Fif some birthday love, and one can only imagine what stops he’ll pull out when he actually turns 50. Check out the recap of his Boston-based birthday bash below.

Martin Lawrence’s Daughter Is Dating Eddie Murphy’s Son

Eddie Murphy and Martin Lawrence teamed up in 1999 for the buddy-comedy film Life, but it looks like they may be seeing a whole lot more of each other in the future because their respective children have fallen in love.

This weekend, Jasmin Lawrence, Martin’s daughter, posted a photo of herself and Eric Murphy, Eddie’s son, as she wished him a happy birthday. The world found out through her post that she’s actually dating Eric.

“Happy birthday, my love! I’m so incredibly blessed to know you, to love you, and to have you by my side,” she wrote. “Cheers to many more blessings, laughs, and beautiful memories! I love you so much!!”

It’s unclear how long the two have been together, but Eric posted pictures with Jasmin last month. “Head over heels in LOVE with YOU,” he wrote in his caption, calling her his “other half.”

These two appear to have a beautiful bond and a love that they’ll cherish for years to come. Their family reunions will definitely be pretty star-studded, with two comedy legends telling jokes all night long for the happy couple.
