LeBron James Thinks He “Should Have More Than Four MVP Awards”

Even if you’re not into basketball, there are a few big names from the NBA that have accomplished celebrity-status for their skill and charisma. LeBron James is an example of this sort of player. The 36-year-old pro-baller is nothing short of a household name, even for those not invested in the sports, and boasts the title of one of the most decorated players in the history of the NBA. Considering this, his recent remarks about feeling as if he deserves more than the four total MVP awards he currently has are more than verifiable.

Trailing behind just Michael Jordan and Kareem Abdul Jabbar in total MVP awards, the all-star players sparked more calls of “LeBron for MVP” after a recent game against the Charlotte Hornets. After the game, LeBron spoke with reporters about his mindset going into every season and about MVP awards.

“I should have more than four, I believe,” LeBron told reporters. “But … I don’t sit around thinking about it or crying about it, or whatever the case may be. I just try to come in the next season and be the MVP and be talked about [for] it again. I bet a lot of the greatest that played this game feel like they should have more as well, if you ask any one of those guys.”

LeBron last won the award for 2012-2013, but has been in the top three for almost every season since. His Lakers teammate Kyle Kuzma chimed in, vocalizing something many people think. “The NBA MVP is a very political award,” said Kuzma. “Bron should have been the MVP at least eight, nine, 10 times. Everybody knows that.”

While LeBron tries to not dwell on missed MVP awards, he admitted winning the award this year would be particularly special.

“It is something. It means something, for sure. I’m not going to sit here and say it doesn’t mean anything to me. And for me to be able to win it a few times in my career has always been special…” he said.

He finished, “Being in the running, hearing my name with some of the best basketball players in the league this year again, it would mean a lot. At my age, what I’m able to do, what I’ve been doing this whole season, what I bring to the table every single night on both sides of the floor, it would mean an unbelievable thing for me, especially at this point in my career.”

Cardi B’s Daughter Kulture Rocks $5,000 Chanel Bag In Instagram Pic

Cardi B is no stranger to spoiling herself and her family, and is often seen sporting some pretty lavish outfits and bags. Her and Offset’s daughter, 2-year-old Kulture, already has some very extravagant accessories despite being so young. This weekend, Cardi shared an adorable photo of Kulture to her Instagram story where she was wearing a $5,000 Chanel crossbody purse that nearly took up her entire body. “Lucky,” wrote the 28-year-old “Up” rapper.

It isn’t always easy for Cardi to style princess Kulture, though. Earlier this month, she shared a post of the toddler wearing a Givenchy fit, some Jordans, and a Balenciaga handbag alongside the caption, “@kulturekiari was so mean today. I couldn’t take not one good pic. Dress by me I guess.” At the end of February, Cardi shared another photo of her and Kulture where the tot was rocking a full Balenciaga fit.

My baby was soo happy yesterday,” Cardi wrote. “I’m going to enjoy every little tiny moment with my family cause when crunch time comes it gets really lonely.” It’s always nice to see celebrity parents spending time with their kids, and there’s no doubt that Cardi and Kulture bond over their fashion sense. Hopefully, we’ll see some more cute toddler fashion when Cardi’s “crunch time” ends.

Newcomer Badda TD Employs 42 Dugg For “Feel Like A Boss”

Badda TD has only been making music officially since 2019, but he has definitely made his mark on the New York rap scene and beyond. The Flatbush rapper is only 17, but he is already cementing a spot for himself with this new co-sign from Detroit rapper 42 Dugg. On “Feel Like A Boss,” Badda TD talks about how proud he is of his achievements, and how hard he will continue to work until he gets everything he wants.

Hard work isn’t anything new to Badda TD, who has amassed more than 60 million streams and 29 million YouTube views while remaining independent. He turned to rap as a teenager after his father was hit with a 50-year prison sentence and his mom struggled to put food on the table for him. His life was permanently changed when Fortnite celebrity FaZe Sway used his 2019 track “Picture I Paint” in a YouTube video, causing the track to go viral. His upcoming 2021 EP The Prince of Flatbush is sure to show off his breadth of talents as an artist, and it’s one you won’t want to miss out on.

Fat Joe Faces Criticism After Making Anti-Asian Comments In A Recent Verse

Benny The Butcher recently dropped a sequel to The Plugs I Met, his album from two years ago. While many expected to talk about the high-quality raps, one of its songs has sparked some controversy due to a few lines that Fat Joe, who appears on the project, rapped during a verse.

On “Talkin’ Back,” Fat Joe raps, “Track me in and out of court, Harvey Weinstein / Threw that white up in the pot, gave ’em pipe dreams / And watch it spread like the Wuhan virus / Do ’em dirty for the low like Wu-Tang ’Sirus (ODB).” Listeners were upset with the lines for a pair of reasons. First, they were not pleased with him name-dropping Weinstein, who is currently serving a 23-year sentence on sexual assault and rape charges. Secondly, there was the mention of the “Wuhan virus,” a poor and highly insensitive coronavirus reference, which was seen as especially insensitive given the current rise in anti-Asian attacks, such as the mass shooting that occurred in Atlanta earlier this week. As a result, many took to Twitter to share their displeasures with Fat Joe and his verse.

The Plugs I Met 2 is out now via Black Soprano Family. Get it here.

Joe Budden Declares “Nicki Minaj Needs Her Flowers”

It’s not all the time that when Joe Budden speaks he receives an overwhelming wave of agreement. Taking a break from his Clubhouse escapades, the controversial on-air personality recently spoke out about the sheer ridiculousness in the fact that Nicki Minaj had yet to be recognized by the Grammys despite all her influence. Comparing her inability to secure a Grammy from the Recording Academy to Doja Cat’s numerous nominations this year, he declared it was time to give credit to the blueprint.

“Nicki Minaj needs her flowers. Whoever the Grammy board is, whoever’s on there, y’all are not the one’s that get to determine that Nicki Minaj and all of her impact and influence don’t get to win an award. I’m sorry,” said Budden on his podcast.

“I’m done with those days. Y’all are not the f*cking gatekeepers, the barriers of entry, y’all are not any of that. What she did, she did that. And now we’re at a time and place where we have not impersonators but the people who were inspired by that act. It’s the same thing like when some of these people, when I see the Drake influence there, call me d*ck rider, whatever, who knows” he explained.

He went on, “But Nicki is in that same boat. I don’t think too many more years need to go by when she’s not awarded for her efforts, that’s how I felt watching Doja Cat and some of the winners there.”

Another co-host added that if something were to happen, it would be lifetime achievements galore, yet no one wants to recognize her for her achievements right now.

As the best-selling female rapper of all time and one of the richest figures in hip-hop period, Budden’s claims that Nicki deserves way more accolades than she has been given is not far-fetched.

New ‘Godzilla v. Kong’ Trailer Offers Peak At The Monstrous Battle

The highly anticipated Godzilla v. Kong film is due to arrive in theaters and on HBO Max (for 30 days) at the end of the month. The film is the fourth culmination of a shared MonsterVerse of films following Godzilla in 2014, Kong: Skull Island in 2017 and Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2019. A previous trailer offering a look at what to expect in the film as the monster’s face-off arrived earlier in the year, creating ample hype surrounding its upcoming release. Shortly ahead of the official opening, the film studio has just unleashed another trailer teasing the blockbuster showdown between the monsters.

Less than two weeks shy of the premiere, the new trailer shows more of what’s in store as two of the most iconic popular culture supernatural beings are pitted against each other. It offers a wealth of action, including a scene where the characters go at it underwater as Kong lands a kick against Godzilla. The two also duke it out in a neon-lit Hong Kong, which has been one of the main things highlighted while marketing the film.

The film will have the honor of being the first MonsterVerse film to get a simultaneous theatrical and streaming release. The film will arrive in theaters and HBO Max in the United States on March 31st for viewers to watch.

Godzilla v. Kong is directed by Adam Wingard, who previously directed Netflix’s Death Note, as well as the horror projects You’re Next and The Guest. The film stars Alexander Skarsgard, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, and Kyle Chandler.

Lil Durk Breaks Silence After Afterparty Shooting In Dallas

It’s been a massive year for Lil Durk who’s still riding out the success of The Voice. Unfortunately, in the midst of his career reaching new heights, he wasn’t able to entirely bask in the glory. The global pandemic made it impossible for rappers to make money at shows or club appearances because of the health risk but there are places that are welcoming rappers into their venues.

Last night, Lil Durk performed in front of a sold-out crowd in Dallas before hosting an afterparty at Pryme Night Club. Unfortunately, the evening ended with gunfire that left one person dead and seven others injured, according to NBCDFW. Police said someone opened fire into the crowd early Saturday morning. They discovered six people with gunshot wounds and two others who went to the hospital after the fact. 21-year-old Daisy Navarrette died at the hospital. Other victims are either in stable or critical condition. Authorities claim the incident occurred after the alleged shooter got into an argument with someone else in the club.

After the venue cleared out, there was a venue of a man heckling Lil Durk from afar. It sounds like the individual was a fan of FBG Duck since he continued saying, “Love live Duck.” “Durk talking bout he need no security,” the caption wrote on one slide. “That n***a run wit da truck he gone take a shot for that man. He get paid a good 20ball a night,” he added in another clip as he revealed how many security guards Durk was rolling with.

It seems like Durk has caught wind of the comments after the fact. The rapper took to Instagram where he addressed the viral video of the man clowning him from afar, writing, “Blogs make n***as look like killers out here and be real bitches don’t believe no stories bout me cause n***as know better in person y’all got the net,” he said.

ssgkobe And $NOT Collaborate For The First Time On “Calabasas”

Louisiana artist ssgkobe is definitely someone you’ll want to keep your eye on, as it seems like right now he’s being backed by some of the greats. Despite him being relatively new to the music scene, his collaboration with Florida rapper $NOT marks a major turning point in his career, and is a co-sign that could shoot him to stardom. Cole Bennett of Lyrical Lemonade certainly sees potential in the 18-year-old rapper as well, as he directed the creative and experimental music video for “Calabasas.” BROCKHAMPTON member Kevin Abstract, an artist who is often known for boosting smaller creatives, is also featured in the video.

The mellow, chilled out single sees $NOT and ssgkobe hanging out with bad b*tches and checking other dudes. ssgkobe’s effortless flow and willingness to get creative gives us some insight into his vision as an artist and lets us know that he’s undoubtedly here to stay.

Don’t sleep on this track. Check out the song and the Lyrical Lemonade-directed music video below.

Quavo’s Sister Calls Saweetie A “Self Centered B*tch,” Aunt Jumps In To Defend Her

A few days ago, Saweetie and Quavo mutually unfollowed each other on social media, prompting fans to believe the rap couple had split up. This wasn’t confirmed until yesterday (March 19) when Saweetie took to Twitter to suggest Quavo’s infidelity was the reason behind their break up. Quavo himself chimed in on his social media with a few words of his own, and it looks like his family is right behind him to defend him. The Migos’ rapper’s sister Shara took to social media to defend her brother from the “bash fest” happening following his split from the “Best Friend rapper.”

“I have been quiet long enough…I see how this turning to a bash fest towards my brother and that ain’t about to happen at all none of y’all know how Saweetie is in real life but I do know and it ain’t good at all..”  penned Shara on her Instagram story yesterday. Catching wind of the message, Saweetie’s aunt Whitty jumped in to defend her niece.

“Now now! Do we need Whitty to start airing this MF out??? I’m not gone be half as nice as ol Shara,” fired Whitty. “What she not gone do is speak ill of my niece, I get very disrespectful about mine. Since we sticking our nose in other people business. first they love you then they hate you.”

She continued in another tweet, “Talkin bout she been quiet long enough. Girl it ain’t even been 24 hours. GTFOH.”

Shara clapped back at Whitty once again, this time making some very ill-mannered remarks about Saweetie. “Who is Whitty b*tch I don’t know sh*t bout you and you don’t know sh*t bout me but I do know yo niece is a self centered b*tch who [no] body likes!” wrote Whittty.

She continued to fire, “You wanna air this b*tch out run it h*e this ain’t what you want! Trust Me! Only reason I was nice to any of y’all h*es is because of Qua.”

It seems like Quavo and Saweetie’s breakup has become a family affair. We’ll keep you updated as the situation evolves.
